Basic Pie Crust (Lo-Cal)

Makes 6 servings

9" pie crust for cream or fruit pies. Makes a crust for one pie.

Ingredients
1/3 cup Crisco , chilled
1 cup flour, sifted
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tablespoons water, (May need up to 4 Tablespoons)
Directions
  1. Either by hand, or in a processor cut shortening into the flour and salt until fine crumbs.

  2. Add water, 1 Tablespoon at a time until a ball forms.

  3. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill for one hour.

  4. Roll out to fit a 9" pie pan.

  5. Bake at 425 degrees F. for 10-12 minutes, or leave unbaked if pie recipe calls for unbaked shell.

  6. Fill according to recipe directions.
