Makes 24 servings

healthy snacks

Ingredients
225 g plain flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
75 ml light olive oil
50 g sugar
110 g dried berries
1/2 teaspoon ground mixed spice
1 egg, beaten
3 tablespoons milk or water
Directions
  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees C or 400 degrees F

  2. Line a baking sheet with baking paper

  3. Mix the flour and the baking powder together in a bowl

  4. Add the oil, and rub together with the fingers until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs

  5. Then add the sugar, the berries of your choice, and the mixed spice powder

  6. Break the egg in a separate bowl or cup and beat with a fork

  7. Add the milk or water to the beaten egg

  8. Add the egg and milk or water mix to the other bowl and mix ingredients well together to make a stiff dough

  9. If the dough is too wet, add some more flour until it’s a fairly dry mixture that can be easily handled and doesn't stick to your hands

  10. Place small rough heaps of the dough onto the baking sheet about two centimetres apart

  11. Bake for between ten and fifteen minutes until golden brown

  12. Use a spatula to transfer to a wire rack to cool
