Beefy Spanish Rice - Kalel Recipe

Beefy Spanish Rice

Ingredients
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 cup uncooked converted white rice
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
1/2 pound ground beef
1/2 cup canned corn
6 ounces can tomato sauce
1/4 cup salsa
1/2 cup water
2 cloves garlic
1 Salt
1 Pepper
1 tsp Cumin
1 tsp Chili Powder
Directions
  1. In a large saucepan over medium heat, heat the oil.

  2. Saute the onion and pepper until tender.

  3. Add the rice and garlic and saute for 5 minutes

  4. Add the ground beef brown. Drain excess oil and fat.

  5. Add the corn, tomato sauce, salsa, and water.

  6. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 20 minutes or until rice is cooked, stirring occasionally.

  7. Season with spices to taste.
