Ham & Vegetable Alfredo Recipe

ham & veggies with whole wheat penne pasta

Ingredients
16 ounces whole wheat penne pasta, cooked
3 tbsp. butter
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
2 cups half and half
1 cup 2% milk
2 cups broccoli florets
2 cups mushrooms, sliced
2 cups zucchini, sliced
2 cups ham, cubed
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. dried oregano
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
Directions
  1. In large saucepan, melt butter. Add garlic & saute until fragrant. Stir in flour until blended. Gradually stir in half & half and milk. Bring to boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.

  2. Add broccoli. Reduce heat & simmer uncovered about 5-7 minutes or until broccoli is crisp-tender. Add mushrooms & cook 2-3 minutes more. Stir in ham, parmesan cheese, pepper, oregano, & nutmeg. Add cooked pasta & stir.
