A sweet breakfast treat.
| 3/4 | cup all-purpose flour |
| 3/4 | cup whole-wheat flour |
| 1 | tsp baking powder |
| 1 | tsp salt |
| 1 | tsp cinnamon |
| 1/4 | tsp nutmeg |
| 1/8 | tsp cloves |
| 1/2 | cup butter, room temperature |
| 1/2 | cup light brown sugar |
| 2/3 | cup sugar |
| 2 | eggs |
| 1 | tsp vanilla extract |
| 3/4 | cup chopped pitted dates |
| 3/4 | cup chopped pecans, toasted |
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flours, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. Set aside.
- Cream butter and sugars in a large bowl. Add eggs and vanilla and beat until combined. Add dry ingredients and mix just until moist. Fold in dates and pecans.
- Spread in a 9x13 inch pan coated with cooking spray. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes, or just until set. Let cool, cut into bars and serve.
