Carne Guisada Recipe

Delicious and easy steak recipe

Ingredients
2 pounds sirloin steaks
2 tablespoon olive oil
2 poblano pepper, seeded and chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced fine
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1 tomatillo
6 ounces beef broth
2 tablespoons flour
1 tomato
Directions
  1. Trim fat from steaks and cut into 3/4 inch cubes

  2. Heat oil in suace pot. When hot, saute the beef cubes briefly or until just browned, about 4 minutes. Remove to a plate a keep warm.

  3. In same pot suate the poblano, onion, garlic, and seasonings, 3 minutes.

  4. Stir in the tomato, tomatillo, and saute 3 minutes.

  5. Add the beef back into the pot and stir to blend with the seasonings.

  6. Whish together the beef broth and flour until smooth.

  7. Pour flour mixture into the beef mixture. Bring to a simmer , cover, and cook until the beef is tender, about 30 minutes.
