From Julie Van Rosendaal's One Smart Cookie: Deeelicious decadent brownie like cookies with a crackled top - about 103 calories(depending on how big you bake them)and under 3g fat each! This recipe is double Julie's original recipe which made 20 cookies. dinnerwithjulie.com

Ingredients
2 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups sugar
2/3 cups brown sugar
1 cup cocoa
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter
4 eggs, lightly beaten
4 teaspoons vanilla
3 tablespoons icing sugar
Directions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350F

  2. In a food processor combine dry ingredients(except for the icing sugar), breaking up any lumps of brown sugar if necessary.

  3. Add the butter and pulse until the mixture is well combined and crumbly (mine usually looks and feels like wet sand at this stage).

  4. Turn the mixture out into a large bowl and add the eggs and vanilla and stir by hand until the dough comes together. The dough will be fairly dry at first, but if you keep stirring, or get in there and work the dough with your fingers, it will eventually come together, just be sure to scrape all the dry bits off the bottom and sides of the bowl.

  5. Place icing sugar on a dinner plate. Roll the dough into 1&1/2 inch balls (about a tablespoon of dough per ball). Once you have enough to fill a pan, roll the balls in the powdered sugar to coat.

  6. Place sugar coated balls about 2 inches apart on a greased or parchment lined cookie sheet. Bake at 350F for 12-14 minutes (12 works fine for my oven) until just set around the edges but still soft in the middle. Transfer to a wire rack to cool.

  7. Serving = 1 cookie.
