| 500 | g extra lean minced beef |
| 2 | slices sourdough bread |
| 1 | medium onion |
| 1 | egg |
| 1 | tbsp ketchup |
| 1 | tsp mustard |
| 1/2 | tsp salt |
| 1 | pepper |
| 1 | clove garlic |
- Chop the onion very fine and mince the garlic. Soak the bread in water very briefly and then squeeze out as much water as possible and crumble it up,
- Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl. Shape the meatballs with wet hands. If they are golf ball sized that will make about 12. To serve with pasta make them walnut sized.
- Bake in the oven in a roasting dish at 190 C for 15 minutes.
- If serving with pasta, pour over tomato sauce or passata (add the calories separately) and cook covered in sauce for a further 15 minutes.
