In place of Marsala, you can try sherry or other flavored liqueur such as Amaretto
|
Ingredients

tbsp granulated sugar |
| 2 |
tsp cornstarch |
| 3/4 |
c. 1% milk |
| 1/2 |
c. egg beaters |
| 1/4 |
c. fat-free sour cream |
| 2 |
tbsp marsala |
| 2 |
c fresh strawberries |
| 1/2 |
tsp ground cinnamon |
Directions
- In a small heavy saucepan, whist together sugar and cornstarch. Then stir in the milk.
- Place over medium heat to cook, stirring constantly, for 2 minutes or until thick and bubbly. Remove from heat. Pour the egg into a large bowl. Gradually pour in about half of the hot liquid, stirring constantly. Return the mixture to the saucepan. Cook until nearly boiling, but do not allow it to boil.
- Pour into a serving bowl and stir in the sour cream and Marsala. Cover with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator to chill for at least 2 hours before serving. Divide the berries among 4 individual dessert dishes, and spoon the custard over the berries. Sprinkle tops with cinnamon.
