I found this recipe online,and it looked fairly healthy.I did cut back on the sugar and substituted the oats for white flour.Love how it turned out!
| 2 | T. cornstarch |
| 1/4 | tsp. cinnamon |
| 3/4 | cup water |
| 2 | cups cherries,frozen |

| 1 1/2 | cups oatmeal |
| 2 | T. sugar |
| 2 | tsp. baking powder |
| 1/2 | tsp.salt |
| 3 | T. shortening |
| 1/2 | cup milk |
- In large saucepan, combine the cornstarch and cinnamon.Stir in water until smooth.Add the cherries and butter.Bring to a boil over medium heat;cook and stir for two minutes or until thickened.Pour into and 8-inch baking pan and set aside.
- Grind your oatmeal in a blender,1/2 cup at a time.Combine oatmeal flour,sugar,baking powder,and salt.Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.Stir in milk just until moistened.Drop by spoonfuls over the cherries.
- Bake at 400 for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
