hey everyone!!

since july 4th is around the corner i would like to be in top shape for swimsuit/bbq season :) i am looking for people with similar goals and stats to share accountability with and also to provide motovation and tips!! 

im 23 years old, im about 5'9" and weigh approx 160lbs....my goal is to be in the 145-150 range. i figure losing around 1.5-2 lbs. a week is achievable, and setting a final goal range within 5lbs. will allow more flexability and less room for failure.

anyone else???

morning everyone :)

carolally, i think thats a great way of looking at calorie intake, i always notice if i overeat on something i dont feel or see the effects for a few days anyway, im going down the shore this weekend with the girls, and there will be plenty of wine, so i think im gonna take ur advice and aim low this week with maintance this weekend. im glad we all feel the same way about wine and light beer, i always have trouble with that as well.

today i got in a morning workout (50 min ellipical) and im gonna run 2 miles on my lunch break. yesterday i had a late dinner with an old friend so today im only gonna have coffee for breakfast and take an early lunch.

oh quick tip ladies....its delish!: take a bottle of water, add a little sweet and low and lemon wedges...stick in the freezer until its a mixture of ice and water. its so refreshing and tastes like a lemon water ice :)

Thank you krenren for the tip. I will have to try it and I will also try the low calories weeks instead of trying to watch my calories for every day. I will still keep track of my cals during the week to maintain my goals and do my best on the weekends.

I can't believe that the 4th is just around the corner. I would still like to lose 8 lbs before then but I don't want to do it unhealthily. But I will try to lose 2 lbs per week still, which would be 6 lbs before the 4th. I am going to increase my exercise especially on the weekends, since that is when I tend to eat more food.

Thank is an awesome idea, keep calorie count low during the week and try to maintain during the weekends. Thanks for the tip! I will do that.

Yesterday was beautiful in San Diego, when I got home the BF and daughter went to walk Santee Lakes, we also played tag with her for 30 mins. (Which by the way left me very sweaty and tired, I am getting old!) Got some good cardio in and ate well.

Unfortantley today I am swamped at work, I ate a big breakfast and have yet to eat lunch and it's already 3:00 pm. I am leaving work at 5:00 to go to school and take my final. No excersie today.

I'm glad to hear every one is doing so well. I just wanted to add to the weekend over eating problem. This weekend was nuts for me (with father's day and what not) I went out to eat 3 times! Now I'm a poor college student so i'm not wasting free food on a salad. I had lamb friday, chicken parm with speghetti saturday, and BBQ chicken and corn on the cob Sunday. I dreaded hopping on the scale Monday. When i got the courage to i found....down another pound! Just over the weekend!

The secret to my success was I planned for eating out. I knew I was goign to be having big dinners so I had just fruits and veggies all day (that let me snack a lot). When I had meals I tried to stay away from carbs. For my chicken parm night, I chopped my meal in half and put it on someone elses plate so I wouldn't be tempted. Now I would suggest doing this all the time (having a really large meal a day can actually make you store more fat) but it worked for me on a crazy weekend.

I know that it is already 1 pm but I wanted to put my plan down today.

B: Banana, cereal bar, coffee

L: Veggie Salad with no dressing

D: Red Snapper Fish, Salad, Baked Beans

S: Orange, Apple, and green beans

E: 60 min on Eliptical, 60 min walking, 45 min upper body strength training, and 30 min stretching

Good morning everybody.

I hope everybody is feeling better and staying on track. I am having a good morning, just a little tired. I worked out for almost 2 hours yesturday, which made me feel great. I know that I am tired because I didn't sleep well last night. I will make up for that tonight though.

Here is my plan for today:
B: Banana and Coffee
L: Home made calzone(veggie and pepperoni)
D: Pork Chops and steamed veggies
S: Apple and Orange
E: 45 min Cardio, 30 min lower body, 30 min stretching, 60 min hike.

Keep going every one!

I'm still doing pretty well on the diet. I had frozen yogurt for the first time ever last night...I loved it. Heck, I like it better than regular ice cream. The best part was it was only 80 calories for half a cup. I gave myself a cup and enjoyed. I'm trying not to weigh myself until tomorrow (i doubt that will happen)

If people are having weight loss success post it to keep us motivated :)

sorry i havent been replying, i was at diabetes kids camp for a few days as a counselor. im sooo exhaused! i really wish i took the day off from work today. hope everyone is doing well on this first day of summer. it was 65 degrees in philly this morning and beautiful! i think im gonna run 2 miles on my lunch break then 4 miles after work before heading to the shore :)

i gained two lbs this week (but im ok with it) my choices of food at the mess hall werent exactly weight loss friendly.

L: chicken noodle soup and salad
D: quesedilla with broccoli

Krenren77 - I used to be a camp counselor too! It is definately a workout in itself, and wicked exhausting. But in the end it's worth it. (I think I lost about 7 pounds that summer just from running around with the kids).

I have lost another 2 pounds so far, whoo-hoo :) That's a total of 7lbs in the past three weeks. I want to be down another 7 before the 4th...let's see what happens :)

Congrats on the weight loss luckynumb. I wish I could say that but unfortunately I have gained about 4 lbs in two days, but I think it is because my monthly visitor is getting close. I am feeling really bloated right now and I can't stand it. I also haven't had enough energy to work out last night or much the night before. I plan on doing something about that today.

Here is my plan today,

B: Cold Cereal and coffee
L: Raw veggie mix with mixed nuts
D: Corn dog and veggies
S: Apple and Orange

E: 30 Min Running, 25 min Stretching, 30 min lower body

I am going camping this weekend so I hope to be really active with swimming, running, hiking, fishing, tubing, and so much more. I am going to have so much fun. I hope that all of you enjoy your weekend as well.

hey guys!Well I'm definitely sticking to my diet but I just know I'm in a stupid plateau! SO frustrating!!!  I am considering maybe cutting BACK on exercise-crazy as it sounds, but I remember for some reason that I always tend to lose weight when I'm not working out...hmmm...I have no other ideas.  I also thought that when the 4th comes around, this group will end?! That is not cool! lol  I finally have my lil group here:(

hey guys, well this weeks weigh in and im 136.2, so im a little stuck too, but i dont mind because i havent been working out as much as i should and ive also been out for a thai dinner on thursday, so I could be doing better on both eating and exercise but thats life, im one pound away from my mini goal for this day next week (my bday!!) so hopefully i get there, going working out hard today and tomorrow and all next week cos ive just been too lazy!!

Well I've made a pact! With myself...that since the 4th is only 12 DAYS AWAY (yes gasp haha) I am going to stay strong every day until then.  Up until this pt it seems that I could go a few days going off track or scheduling cheat days to help me along but I figure this is the time to tell myself I've only got 12 days and I can prove to myself I can make any goal I put my mind(and body) to!  So-I even got out my journal this morning and made a lil 12 day calendar to mark off each day.  More importantly-how I'll achieve the goal each day.  Maybe give it a try too! It's been working for me for the last 4 days? haha so that's something! We're so close guys!

morning all!

this weekend i was down the shore and got a really bad burn on my legs. it hurts so bad behind my knees. ugh! i didnt realize that it has hindered my workout schedule since it is so painful to walk let alone run :( im hoping its better by this evening so i can burn off all the cals from the margaritas this weekend :)

todays plan:
B: coffee and cottege cheese
S: grapes
L: broccoli and chicken noodle soup
S: frozen yogart
D: chicken and rice

Workout (hopefully):
run 6 miles, 30 minute weights.

Morning!

I too have a really bad sunburn. Mine covers my entire back and is about as red as a fire engine. Even putting any aloe on it makes me crawl up the wall in pain. Why it is so bad is because of being exposed to the sun for three days in a row; one burn on top of another OUCH!

So my working out days have come to a complete stop until I heal, which sucks. Excuse my language. I would like to still have our little group even after the 4th to help keep everybody motivated. What does everybody else think?

Here is my plan today, B: Apple and coffee L: oatmeal D: Chicken and veggies S: Orange E: walking back and forth down the hall with no bending or twisting.

I hope this heals fast so I can get back to my regular workouts. Good luck everybody and keep up the good work.

hey ladies!! Yes for sure im on to keeping this group going after July 4th. I still have two more mini goals to achieve... As of this morning, ive hit my aim of 135 for my bday (this sun!), im very happy, that marks the -10lb since I began, nice bday present for me, so this week I wanna just make sure Im 135 come the weekend, and then my future goals are July 11th 133 (I have a wedding to attend) and 130 by August 1st (Public hol wknd here)! I have to say mini goals for occassions like these really keep me going and they just seem so attainable taking each chunk of weight at a time x

I too went to the beach. Now i'm a redhead so I burn wicked easy. I used sunscreen but apparently I missed spots...and those spots are the only places that got sunburned, but they are spread over my body...so i'm basically a red and white dalmation right now...o well...

It was hard staying on track at the beach, I had icecream I'll admit it. I'm weighing in today. 7 lbs down so far and 5 to go before the 4th. I have been straying from my diet and I have a wedding shower this weekend so i'm sure i'll cheat a little there...but all other days i'm going to be strict with my diet, and exersice.

 

Today (to make up for this weekend)

B: Carrots

L: Salad

D: Salad

60 min eliptical; 30 min aerobics class.

hell yes i'd love to keep this group going after the 4th. this is really keeping me in check and honest with myself, im also learning a lot from you ladies as well.

i feel like im recovering from the weekend, i ran 5 miles yesterday and 2 miles today, my sun burn is starting to blister and its becoming uncomfortable when sitting still, but its getting better for sure! i bought a dress for july 4th back in may and it was a little snug, im gonna try it on next week and crossing my fingers that it fits :)

todays plan
B: english muffin with egg beaters, fiber one
L: 100 cal bagel with light soup
D: still up in the air, maybe a salad of some sorts
S: low cal muffin, apple, banana

2 mile run (cant do much more with class this evening)

I am glad to hear that we all want to keep this going. I have also learned so much from all you ladies and you keep me motivated so Thank you all. My sunburn is getting a little better but I think that it is going to start peeling soon even with all the aloe gel I have been rubbing on it boohoo. I would have liked to at least get a tan out of all the pain I have gone through but oh well.

I have 10 lbs to go before the 4th still and I am stepping up my exercise routine and getting more inventive with my eating. I am trying to avoid some foods and replace them with a variety of foods that I haven't eaten for some time, like squash.

So here is my plan today so far:

B: coffee and apple
L: Salad no dressing
D: Chef Salad with no fat dressing
S: Apple, orange, or sugar snap peas

Exercise: 45 Min weights, 60 min cardio, 30 min stretching (yoga type)

Hi Guys!  I want to keep it going too!  This group is great for me.

Well guys I have to tell you... I weighed in today.....  189lbs!!!!! 

That's 22 lbs since I joined this group :)  Granted I have another 36 to loose- but I'm still totally excited for this wedding on 7/6!  I haven't seen my family in a year... and I was 249 lbs when I saw them last!!!!!

I leave for NY on thursday and I know I'll gain a few during my trip there- can't tell you how much I miss bagels, pizza and diners!!!!!!
