Four Week Club, Part II - Starts Monday May 12th and ends Monday, June 9th! -- CLOSED to new members

Hey, I think it was pretty successful and, to be honest, I liked almost everybody that was involved.

(Kidding!)

Same dilly - For those of us in the current four week count down, post your final weight there, and then copy and paste it here... as it will be the starting weight here!

Morning Weigh ins on May 12th, and then every Thursday and Monday from then on!

(I'm actually pretty glad to do this - I'm going to Hawaii on June 12th, so I'd love a reason to keep driving to my goal weight before I get on that plane.)

Awright! Who's in!

SW: 164.4

This months goal: 6.4lbs / 158lbs

*sigh* I hate myself.  I HAVE been taking in too much sodium. *begs* pleaseeee be that.

Well, I'm down 2 pounds since my last post 161.5 I'm 159.5, and I think that's from much added stress. Working out hard, and trying to do things right. Well that's my report for today.

Monday's weight 5/26 161.5
Thursday's weight 5/29 159.5

Still losing the weight, and I don't know how long this is going to last before I hit rock bottom and bounce back up in weight gain.

Congrats to all of you. I'm still cheering for you all..
GOOD LUCK

alicat0421This whole month or so has been bouncing around for me also.  Have you tried uping your water?  Yeah I know how much water can a person drink?  I recently have been really keeping track of the water and it seems to be helping me.  At least this week.  Don't despair, we're right here with you.

I can't believe all the 2lb losses in such a short amount of time!!  WOW!! way to go people.

I'm now thinking about a celebratory pizza day myself.....Maybe if I can reach 123  that way I can gain back a few pounds and not care.  Oh yeah all the pizza and beer I can eat and drink just for one day....I wouldn't care if it made me sick the next day  It'd be totally worth it... A nice greasy bacon and all kinds of meat pizza....MMMMMM  OKAY back to reality.  It will probably happen in October or November but I'll shoot for September, either way I have a long time to dream about it.

Whenever there's that big of a loss in three days by so many people, I wonder if theres some weird gravity thing going on.

:)

Here we go again.

Last Thurs: 140

This Thurs: 140.

This is where I started a couple months ago... clearly I am not doing something right. Clearly.

So, I have a question for you guys...

If I'm right, I may have hit my goal weight.  I'm still going off my original scale, and I still have a bit of a belly I'd like to kill, so I'm gonna keep working at this.

But:

What goal weight should I aim for?

To get a BMI of 22 (smack dab in the middle of the number that's good for me), I would have to be 166 pounds... and that feels RIDICULOUSLY low for me.  That being said, I've been overweight since college, so I'm not sure.

Anybody have any advice on what a realistic "You are super healthy" weight would be for me?

Need some advice on what my goal should be from here on in...

WTG everybody!! Even our little slips are mini-victories in that we can figure out and learn from them (sorry, it's the teacher in me, lol)

I'm down to 123...but I have a feeling that I'm stabilized at the moment at 124.  My ultimate goal was to be 118 (no time limit, but by my birthday would've been fantabulous!)  I've found a new walking route, which I'll be able to do once school let's out, so maybe that little change in distance and pace (I got some music made for walking, bpm's for 3.0 - 3.5 miles per hour...and then some more for 4.0 mph)

So we'll see.  I've come a long way to get to 123, so I'm extremely happy!

Again, wtg everybody!

Here are my thoughts on goal weight.  I don't believe in a true goal weight as I also don't believe in the BMI scale.  It's a reference point, but too many lazy doctors use it instead of tackling the truth about their patients.

See if you can get your bodyfat measured.  That's much more important than your weight.  Weight is an indicator, but not the end result.  You can be 165, but have a bodyfat of 25%, or you can be 185 with a bodyfat of 11%.  I'd take the 185 as it's healthier.

Besides keeping count of the weight I'm losing, I keep track of my bodyfat and how much I'm losing.  I bought an Accu-Measure caliper to measure weekly to see if I'm losing millimeters off of my caliper reading.  This also gives me an indication if I am losing fat or muscle.  I want to lose the fat and keep the muscle.  For example, since I started the forum from Phase I, I've lost over 15lbs, but more importantly 10% bodyfat in those 6-7 weeks.

Okay everyone.. I am going to let you all in on my. Give yo mama a kiss lunch time salad.

This salad is the best, and I really love it. I came up with it almost a year ago. You can do this with all your salad's, only 3 days a week. You don't want your body to get use to it too quickly, or it will stop working. You can even take a  few weeks off from this..

Here's how you make it.

1 and a half cup of salad mix.
2 bell peppers. Any color you like. Cut the way you like.
1 whole cut up Tomato.
1/4 cup of Red Onion, if you like.
4 shakes of Mrs's Dash
4 shakes of Cayenne Red Pepper.. WOOOO! I hope you like it hot.
Toss it up, and then add your dressing.. Mines is Low Fat Ranch.

This salad has 2 things here you need. Your it boost your metabolism,  and it gives you that THERMOGENIC SUPPORT you need.

Not only will this salad help you burn off the fat, but it will get your metabolism right back up where it needs to be for the rest of the day. You can do it again at dinner time.. Cutting everything in half. I always have a slice of toasted bread with this, and one tall glass of lemon water.. This also helps flush out toxin's.

This is how I rejump my weight loss when I get to that stopping point. Protein is a good way too, but that CAYENNE RED PEPPER is one hell of a kick, and you start to sweat right after. It's also good to do when you are going to do a workout. Take some bread, and shake some on it, and eat the bread.. Get on your bike treadmill, and watch the sweat start to roll.

Old Fashion, but this really does works.  That's how I got the 2 pound lost this week, and I do zig zag, but I'm don't really understand it all that well.

This salad can also help you sweat out that extra water weight gain.

Give it a try..

Marmel,

I agree with Bpcrue, 100% on this. Those things are really off. I mean really, the math problem you have to work will link you back to that easy to use chart.
This is the math problem, some doctor came up with to get these BMI Number's. To calculate your BMI, multiply your weight in pounds by 703, and Divide the number by your height in inches squared.

I'm 5 feet. That's 60 inches and I weight 159.5, but we are going to round that point up, and not drop it.. So 160 is where we are at with this.

First you multiply your weight by 703. ( 160x703= 112,480)

Next, calcalate your height in inches. Multiply the number by itself.
(60x60= 3,600)

Now you Divide the first number by the second number.
(112,480 / 3,600 = 31) , and a ton of number's after that.

That's my BMI, but the real test I had done- had me at this at 169lbs 4 weeks ago. So as you see, this test is a load of crap. I think it is. There are so many math problems going on with weight.

Like the hip to hip ratio math problem.. Man, you do that.. You will think.. Okay! The hell with a diet. I am fit. I know, I did there for a moment or two, then I woke up from that dream. I have a goal weight of 145, and my healthy BMI says I am going to be 28-29%. Not ture. I've been dropping numbers off these charts since I've had the real thing done.. By 2 ever since. These charts are off. Very off, and if a body builder was to do these math problems on BMI it would have him or her at a Obese level.

We can't trust these things, and as you see... We really can't trust the scale.. You question those sucker's. My scale has me 4 pounds heavier than the doctor's scale. Who's scale is lying? Mines or there's. I'm sure it's not mines, since 30 to 40 people may step on the same scale daily. At the gym.. We are 50/50. Mines hit's the mark with there's. Just a thought.

I think a healthy weight is where you feel your best. I feel my best at 145, and I look my best. Once back in the day- I had that number once. Being below that number.. My body is going to do some fugly things. Like.. Skin Sag. I don't want that.

Just go for your idea best.

124 today. :)

hopefully I can reach my goal by the end of summer. that would be pretty awesome.

I couldn't agree with you more!  My friend, who is a nutritionist and bodybuilder is still considered overweight at 195 and 5 foot 10 inches tall, even though he's at 4.8% bodyfat.  That's just crazy.  Nothing overweight about him at all.  His optimal weight for BMI is in the 170's.  That scale takes nothing but height and weight into consideration.

There are other tests that can help you:  The mirror test (how do you see yourself in the mirror), The clothing test (how do your clothes fit), The measurement test (measuring parts of your body and watching them trim down - hips, waist, thighs, neck, etc.), The bodyfat test (measuring the amount of lean muscle/mass you have versus the fat tissue) and finally the weight test (watching the scale).  You notice I put the scale on the bottom.

And true is, you need to feel good about yourself.  It's all a mental game we play with ourselves.  I've been a yo-yo all my life.  This time, I've decided to get rid of my 'fat' clothes and not leave them around to grow back into as I've done over the years.  It's too easy to just gain the weight, go to the bins and pull out the bigger clothes.  If they are not there, then I can't just pull them out, so I'm going to have to be conscience of what my body is doing over time.  Time to pull out of the rut, or atleast shorten the yo-yo string.

WOW! Bpcrue, you hit it on the head.. That damn scale is a number worker. Some work up, and some work down.. Hell, I think mines works all around the number system at times. My tape Measure.. Never lies.. That's one number I can't get wrong. That's your truth. Your clothes.. They tell you if you looking good in your clothes. That mirror.. Tells you, look at all the hard work you have done. Those fat clothes hanging around in the mist. Waiting for that one to many pizza's, and one to many missed workout's. Where do you run too. The closet to pull them out of the bin. Back into them you go.

I gave my fat clothes away. I didn't hold on to them, and I sure in hell don't want to. WHY! You know the real deal of it all Bpcrue..

 How do you feel?  Priceless!

Wii Fit breakthrough:

So... I figured out how to continue to use the Fit, but still bike the way I used to.  There's this running exercise which is completely assy on your feet.  However, it measures your run by the way you swing the remote, in your pocket.

So why wouldn't that work on a bike?

"Jogged" (via the wii) or "Biked" (via the equipment) 30 minutes today, and I got to do it in a way that takes advantage of this dumb game I just bought.

See ya Monday!

By the way - I set up ONE more group...

"42 Day Challenge" - It's in the same section we're in.

See you here tomorrow, and hope to see you over there.

P.S.  I figured out how to link!  It's about 'effin time...

So, WOW I refuse to weigh myself today!!! I stepped on the scale last night after eating half a sweet potato, some Apple Jacks with Silk milk and a sliced banana in it, and a piece of bread with PB. Why? Because I was depressed cause my effing $300 ipod broke yesterday that had over ONE THOUSAND pictures of last summer, when I went to Greece/Turkey/Bermuda :*-(  ugh I don't want to talk about it... anyways, I weighed freaking 148!!!!!! AHHH!!!!!!! So today there's NO WAY IN HELL I'm weighing myself until that number can chill and go down to 144 again lol.

I really doubt I'm going to achieve my goal of being 139 by June 9th :-/ ...I don't think it's possible to lose 5 pounds in 8 days, at least not the healthy way. Well, unless I'm due for one of my 'scale jumps', where the scale dabbles into lower numbers (I hit 142/143 a few times) then BAM jumps down like 2 or 3 pounds. Damn that'd be sweet :D

Nef;

Fear not.  There's another challenge coming.  Do your best the rest of the week.  :)

I ate  TON of beef last night.  I am more than a little nervous about tomorrow's weigh in.

Oh!  And I dropped my Iphone last week, shattering the face plate.  Had to sell it broken online (it costs 250 to replace) - but I'll be using that money for the new 3g iphone next week...

   ;)

Eww iphones are pieces of crap; I can say this because I've had one since two weeks after they came out last summer. *sigh* I should've bought a blackberry, oh well! Now I know :D

I dunno.  I liked my Iphone and, mostly because the keyboard thing is such a pain in the ass, it taught me to not email so much.

Read, and reply if I had to, but not so anal retentively.

We'll see what the reviews are on the new thingy.  Still - If they come out with a blue tooth texting keyboard, I'll be very thrilled.

Well, I know my weight is going to be up in the morning, so you will not be the only one pissed over the effing weight. I was doing so great.  Sorry Guy's... You know who is in town. I always gain 2 to 3 sometimes even 5 when she comes to town. AGGG, I just hate that crap. I'm 30, and I started to get hot flashes, and cold sweats at 25. I was 159.5 during my last weigh in. Friday morning. I woke up, and like a nut.... I wanted to see if I was still holding.. NOPE! I had to go look.. 161, and yesterday morning.. I was 160, and I was like.. Okay.. What's coming after me on Monday.. Knowing my body, a big freaking number. We are going to kick the scales (A) okay.. We just have to get down to business and mean it. My son was doing push ups yesterday morning, and he was saying. I'm the biggest boss since you seen thus far.. Over and over again. There was my motivation. I burned 1,790 calories, and I was kicking (A). We are going to get there.. Come hell or high water..
