Hey everyone! I decided to make a group for those who need to lose anywhere from 50 to 70 lbs. I think if we do weigh-ins once a week (whatever day works for each person), we can all keep each other motivated. It is possible for most people who join this group to lose mostly all of the extra weight by the end of 2008! We can all use tomorrow as our first weigh-in. Who's with me

I would love to join, I joined other groups, but they went dead. My weight last week was 212.6, my current weight is 214.6 (that time of month) my starting weight 2 months ago was 221lbs. I go to curves 3 to 4 times a week, I have totally changed the way I eat. For those who are keeping track of their weight, don't get discouraged if you only lose 1 or 2 lbs a week. That's all I have been losing, on average 1 - 1 1/2 lbs per week. what keeps me going is my measurements. Every week when I do my weigh in I also measure myself. I measure my thigh, waist, hips, tummy, arms and chest. In total since I have started, I have lost a total of 1/4 inch from chest, 8 inches on my waist, 6 inches on my tummy, 2.5 inches on my hips, 2.5 inches on my thighs, and 1 inch from my arms. That's a total of 20 1/4 inches off. but I has only lost 8.4 lbs in total. I would love to be back down to around 160 -164 lbs. I have start pictures posted, When I have a chance I will have my husband take current pictures. I hope this helps to motivate other people.

Your doing a GREAT job! Wow- you've lost a lot of inches. Keep up all that hard work! I agree - you shouldn't get discouraged when you loose 1.5 - 2 lbs per week. That's a VERY healthy weight loss and to be commended!

Only lost 1 lb. this week so I was a little disappointed but it's better than nothing. I feel lighter and stronger and have been getting in some really good workouts so that makes me feel good. Welcome to all the new members on this post and have a great week.

Sorry for the late post. Just got busy with work, gym, kids, life. Well I am back to where I was two weeks ago but it did come down after the weekend of ribs. It did take all week though. Yesterday when I weighed in I was at 269. I was pretty happy that I broke the 270 mark. Yeah for me. Only a few pounds until the BIG 75#.
I love the idea of a weight log. I have one for myself since I started this change in lifestyle a year ago. That is why I weigh in on Tuesdays instead of Sunday. It is amazing to look at and really think about it. Let me know what you need or if you need any help. A question for everyone, what is everyone doing for exercise? Just looking for new ideas and encouragement. With the weather getting nicer, it would be nice to be outside more. Hope everyone has a great week.
Omg, I would love to. May have to help me because I'm new to the sight, ok. When I started I weighed 195lbs. I now weigh 182. I can use all the help I can get and will do the same for everyone else also. My pleasure. Thanks for the challenge.

I'm still at 192, for 2 weeks now. I'm having problems staying out of the kitchen at night!! I do so good during the day, then at 10-11 pm I'm in the kitchen wanting junk!!! I'm also feeling tired of trying to lose this weight. I can feel myself giving up on it. I don't want to, but......I don't have consistent weight loss to keep me going.
I've started walking more even though it's very painful for me to do so. For the new people, I have chronic back and leg pain and this time last yr I couldn't walk 50 feet, let alone go outside to walk !!! I'm up to 3 miles at a time. Yesterday I did 3 mi, then 1 later on the evening. But it's not affecting my weigh ins though. I've been walking 2 miles a day for over a week now. :( Suggestions?????

Phinman - I've been going to the gym 6 days a week for most of my exercise. I take Fridays off and on Mondays I just take a beginners Pilates class which isn't that difficult (though it does work my hips, abs, and back pretty well). The other days at the gym, I do about 30-40 minutes cardio (bike, treadmill, or elliptical) and 20-30 minutes of free weights/nautilus.
When the weather cooperates my husband and I go for a walk after dinner with the kids - not too far or fast, more like a stroll, but it gets us up and moving instead of sitting on our butts. Also, I take my daughters for a walk on the Rails to Trails when my son is at school and I take all three kids to a local park that has a walking trail too. The kids can only play at the playground after we've finished our walk around the lake (3/4 mile). My 4 year old walks with me and the 2 year old and 1 year old ride in the double stroller.
