Morning sarah, your up early!!!
How are you?? Work is crazy here!!
Still on my.....I dont know what you'd call it............clean eating / not eating any processed foods........... kick. so far so good. My only problem is that I'm finding that my carbs are really high. Not sure how I'm going to counteract it as I'm not eating bread or any wheat products. Any ideas??
Any news on the coyotes??
Thats great news!!! I am thrilled for you!
Yeah, mostly veggies & salad & beans & oatmeal (breakfast) and of course Potatoes (lunch).
Speaking of lunch, I'm just about to head out for it so will talk to you when I get back!!
Sounds like everyone is in their stride today! Actually did 45 mins on the elliptical today....whew!
Found one thing that is at least helping me drink water (I hate water), I put a large glass of cold water in the fridge with 2 pieces of lemon in it...I've found that yesterday everytime I'd reach for the fridge I would drink that first. Strawberries and grapes are all gone so no temptation there today! I'm hoping this will keep me on track for the water...seems to be working.
Hope everyone else in hanging in there!
Also started period yesterday so was skeptical about weighin yesterday. Its always before, not during that seems to stall my weight. So this morning past PMS day and with fiber clearing me out, I decide for 1st time ever to head back to clinic for a 2nd weighin. Yesterday 360.1, today 358.6. Just knew it!
Good to hear from you Angela. Sounds like a plan with Jenny and the gym. I know your up but its just a few pounds and with what youve dealt with, not bad at all. Maybe the Jenny plan will be the one! Be proud your trying things to help your success.
Gina, with the higher carbs I would just be concious of your appetite. Not everyones so sensitive though so you may be fine. Plus sounds like complex ones - good for energy.
Rachael, Yeah on those 2 lbs :D! Doing great from your vacation and youve been a great role model all alongwith all your actvity. Those other remaining 6 dont have a chance.
Im with you on the water Angie. Realized this morn that the problem with the fiber was not enough flavor to take care of the water taste so going forward will use my crystal light drink to mix. Even without being able to make the gym, getting your run in shows your really active minded.
Sarah, I had wasabi peas once and if I remember correctly they were crunchy like corn nuts. I hear you on workout soreness - ow! Wedneday had to do a Walmart run before and after my walk so afterwards limped in. Had to cancel walk yesterday still hurting but not so bad now and thinking will be up for it later.
Super long post but crazy busy work day so may not be around. Will be checking in tonight.
I haven't been getting enough calories. I have been under 1200, some days under 1000.
I think that's why I gained so much weight in one year - 50 lbs. Last time I lost weight I just stopped eating (bad breakup). I weighed 125 (5'5") in Oct 06, but bounced up higher than post-pregnancy to around 185 by Jan 07.
My body is already starting to adjust, dang it. Scale is levelling off, jumping up even. I'm lacking motivation to exercise, so I'm stalling on that. Cutting back on food is easy for me, but I can't keep it up too long. I'm getting to the point where I'd do quite a bit for toast w/ jam and butter or a slice of pizza!
I just want this weight off FAST!! I don't need to get down to 125, I think 135 would still have me be a size 6-8.
I want to wear my nice clothes again - not the "fat"ones. I want to zip my cool tall boots.
I'm doing the SB:
Bkfst - 2oz protein (more if you want), 1/2 c veg (min)
Lunch/Dinner - 2oz protein (more if you want), 2 c veg (min)
Snack - more protein/veg
Fat is limited.
I don't see how you get lots of calories w/ this! (taking vitamins, too.)

It took you a year to gain 50 lbs so dont expect it to come off in a month. It would be nice(I know) but give it some time and hang in there. YOu can do it!!!!!
For phase 1 consider some of the calories in items Sarah mentioned.
* Oil - unlimited
220cal&nb sp;- 2T healthy oils
* Nuts - 1 serving daily another big help
190cal - 2T Peanut Butter
105cal - 15 almonds

There are plenty more options for each catagory LINK
I think we all can relate to wanting to wear those clothes! The time will pass and the alternative is not losing the weight so bear with it because you will get into them. Good on the vitamins - just started them myself.
With this morning's weigh-in, I can now say that I have officially lost one-fifth of me ... twenty percent (20%) of my starting weight! WOO HOO FOR 20%!!! (It's the equivalent of three large plastic tubs of clumping kitty litter!)
Well, two weeks into 2008 and my weight loss is on track, albeit moving a bit more slowly than I had anticipated. Of course, as I lose weight my calorie needs decrease, so my daily calorie deficit decreases as well -- all part of getting healthier, I suppose! And, for the first two weeks of January I have MET my 90-minutes-per-week of cardio (treadmill) ... in fact I have gone a bit over for this week (yay!) And, as of the first week of February, that exercise goal will increase. Even though my weight loss has been slowing, my healthy eating habits are right on track because I'm learning to allow myself to feel discouraged WITHOUT that resulting in over-eating or falling off the wagon. (I just complain, whine, and rant a bit more!)

=^..^= MOLLY
Morning all my yard sale isnt going to well cause of the weather. Its not to cold but a little windy. Did find out that its great for losing weight. I was amazed at how many extra cals are burned just for standing around for 5 or 6 hours. Well gotta go get ready for the yard sale again. HAPPY BEACHING!!!!
Molly I envy you breaking through 300 - your next goal is so close, you'll be there soon!
I almost didnt think I'd make it back from walk yesterday. This morn using support to walk but noticed improvement and expect to be out tonight.
Skyblue, replying to you made me realize when I dropped my nuts (okay that was funny) that I lost my fat intake. Going to start with PB, kept in the cabinet - not my desk drawer. Last night I stopped when with 2 T. I also fight to keep calories up since my carb is in a 200 call SB breakfast wrap. Funny never had the cal problem as a practising carbaholic. Morning to everyone sleeping on the beach!
