This week: 201!!!

I lost 2.5 lbs! Very happy!

Oh wow! That would be wonderful if you weigh 198!!! I hope that's what it is for you! Where is the scale you were using before?

I have to jump in on this! My skinny sister brought a chocolate fudge bday cake over for my son's 15th and I had ONE slice.  ONE.

That never happens!

Hi, I am Sharonclaire and loving cc.

Started at @211 in 4/07 and now weigh 193.5

Goal:

Anything under 175 but if I Go4Gold I'll get down to 158!!! Just enjoying the 'ride' for now. Single for the moment and spending time getting to know myself on the way...triggers and all.

43 yo. 5'7''

I hike @ 30-40 miles/wk level pavement. Was running 12 miles/wk until I hurt my ankle...weightloss will help. Do some lifting.

Eat a lot of veggies, fruit, tofu, salmon, red meat occassionally, chix, etc. Love fruit. USED TO BE crazy @ chocolate.

Good luck everyone!
Calories today are a guesstimate!  1,233 or close to that anyway.  I went to a Ladies Christmas Party for our church tonight.  I thought ahead and took a veggie tray with some lite dip.  I had a slice of ham and a small amount of sweet potato casserole, and the rest of my plate I had vegetables..broccoli, cauliflower, and tomatoes with a small amount of the dip.  I still had quite a few calories to consume so I splurged and had half of a piece of cheesecake (my favorite!!).  I think I figured it out pretty close as far as calories but ya never know.  Had a good time though singing Christmas songs and just good fellowship.  I was the youngest one there I think but that is ok, I enjoyed it just as much maybe even more than I would have with people my own age.

* snif! snif...! Wha-wha-wa-aa-aii-ill-lll!!! *

( Lonnggg wail, if hard to decipher, lol! Spellchecker LOVED that one!)

I was good...!!! I WAS!!!! Really!!!  * snif! *

* wipes face, straightens shoulders, comes out of hiding to post... *

If you couldn't guess...I didn't lose...! And I HAVE been good!

I CAN proveit...lol!

I e-mail talked with a on-line nutritionist today/yesterday, and another local nutritionist by phone today. I have an appointment to see her Friday the 14th, though they both said I was doing really good. That was encouraging! They liked everything I'm doing, said it was all good...I just want to lose more weekly, healthily. This week is frustrating, but I'll be fine. The frustration is forcing me to grow and ask for help- and re-enforcing the good stuff I'm doing. Laughing

The main thing I need is cardio... That is all they can really add to what I'm doing already, and reassure me that I won't need to up my calories if I do- as I'm only 5'2", and that means 1200-1300 will be enough to keep me from starvation mode and/or muscle burning... I'll still use 1350+/- on weight work days, and will discuss this further on Friday...

If I'm not losing over 2 lbs. a week, I believe I shouldn't be in too high a calorie deficit, though CC is generous and says I'm using more than my scale has agreed with, lol! The math isn't showing the 1000+/- I've been trying for, with only a lb. or less weekly... Even with my tweaking calories, exercise, etc.

I'll be seeing if there is a thyroid issue, too, since I'll see a pro. She liked the lb. a week though, so maybe cardio will do, with patience!  * snif! *

I'm not THAT good with patience, though! Wink

I've finished 7 months here  today, with 12 lbs. lost the first month, 5 lbs. the 2nd, 4 lbs. each for 4 months, and a sticky 2 lb. gain for this rough-and-tough 7th! Cry

That has a LOT to do with my wailing today, of course. I simply couldn't have gained with what I've eaten this month, though stress is a real issue, I've learned, with holding weight.

30/32 lbs. gone feels sooo great, but it is ok to lose faster, safely, if I CAN...and I'd really like to! Laughing

BTW- I've realized I'm too much of a 'night owl', so I'm going to start posting my daily stats the next morning- I'm too likely to change them after I've posted them, unless I post them so late that it's EARLY- and few folks will see them till the next morning, anyway, lol! Surprised

Also, Dances- I feel for you...! Scales can drive you BONKERS!!! I have one of the greatest things I've ever known- 'perfect scale peace', lol! Outside of my home gym, my almost-loveliest possession, almost my dearesttreasure... Drum roll, please!... is my professional Dr.'s office scale! I bought it new on Ebay from the company that makes them for Dr.s. It's very easy to check and adjust- and rarelyneeded! It's always exactly accurate, and I never fear strange scales, now! It's hard to express how peaceful this is for me! I can count on it, for years to come. I truly wish I could share it with you! Laughing

If you ever get a chance to get one, it's worth every cent to me. I think it was about $200, and VERY well made. Checks your height, too. Cool

This post has helped me seriously, though a crisis time in diet frustration! Thanks sooo much for starting this now- instead of waiting till it may have been swallowed by regular New Years goals, and overlooked! I didn't halfrealize how strongly the accountability would firm my resolve daily! I really appreciate your efforts to do this- esp. with your moving, too! Thanks, Dancer!!! You are Too cool! CoolLaughing

Welcome Sharonclaire!!!!

Report for December 7, 2007.

1,866 calories. Grade C. (You'll find out why...)

Fat - 18.8% (43 grams)
Protein - 14.4% (74 grams)
Carbohydrates - 66.7% (344 grams)
Alcohol - 0.0%
Other - 0.0%

Daily Sodium Intake - 2,348 mg
Daily Cholesterol Intake - 75 mg
Daily Fiber Intake - 58 grams

Wow, look how much carbs that is!!!

Okay, okay, so I had a small Dairy Queen Peppermint Chip blizzard!!!! My husband did steal like at least 5 bites of it! But oh, it was so so good!

I still had about 400-500 calories left after dinner when we went bowling. Well then I wanted to stop at DQ, since I like to get something yummy every couple weeks or at least once a month. So, I got the yummy blizzard that was so so good. Got home and looked it up online and it is 630 calories!!! The small and it has 99 grams carbs! Whoa!!! A little higher than I thought, but I'm not upset about it because I still have a defecit. That's what dropped my score down so far also.

Note to any DQ fan, always get a small. A large blizzard was over 1100 calories! Better fill you up because that's about all you're gonna get for a day.

I did my 30 minutes of cardio today also.

Okay, so burn meter is at 2,315, so that gives me a 449 calorie defecit!

See you all tomorrow!

I LOST WEIGHT ON VACATION!

That does it! I simply MUST MUST MUST go on more three-day vacations to the coast! (giggle!) I stepped on the scale this morning with tremendous trepidation and Herculean hesitation and somber seriousness ... only to see that nifty red digital number go to ... (drumroll please).... 307.4 pounds. WHAT!?!? I got on and off three times, but my wonderful DH assured me the number stayed the same each time! (I rely on him since I refuse to wear glasses for the weigh-in since they ... well, weigh something!)

=^..^= MOLLY

Hello and welcome Sharonclaire (winks and thumbs up...)  Sounds like we have some things in common.   I would love some hints on running (want to improve my triathlon run time this year to 10 min/miles), without getting injured.
Good job with the holiday parties, GGG folks.  Mine I went to last weekend I had a deli turkey/veggie sandwich (from one of those big pretzel sandwiches) w/ no mayo and some mustard, a few pieces of shrimp cocktail, some carrots and celery, 6 green olives (my fave), and for a treat a 2-inch piece of peppermint bark.  (what is it about those minty treats Mel??!!)
Great news Molly, sounds like your activity level is really getting your engine burning in combo with your food choices.  Yippee, doesn't it feel great when you're getting it right?!!
I felt a little bummed yesterday from "only" my 1.5# loss, I really wanted 2+.  But I will not measure my self-esteem by what I haven't got, only celebrate WHAT IS!  DWF's optimistic attitude helped me see the light side of my dark mood.  And I choose to see the light  (spoken like a true recovery perfectionist control freak, no?).  My SO remarked he can see my recent loss in my waist and face so that's something.  It's the hips and thighs that hold onto the extra lbs. like four layers of attic insulation. (or like duck fat?  That's thick and insulating, too LOL).
I read somewhere that when you're a proper BMI, for women your neck will measure less than 13.4 inches.  Anyone know anything about that?
Here's my post for December 7th activities:
Calories = 1640
Fat - 22.4% (42 grams)
Protein - 21.5% (91 grams)
Carbohydrates - 56.1% (237 grams)
Alcohol - 0.0%
Other - 0.0%

Daily Sodium Intake - 1,585 mg
Daily Cholesterol Intake - 176 mg
Daily Fiber Intake - 30 grams
Exercise = 60 minutes karate.  (And SO passed his test for 6th degree black belt, whoo-hoo!)
Calories burned = 2682  Deficit = 1042

Have a good weekend everyone.  I am cleaning, working, putting up the tree (well really just dragging it up from the basement), and painting the trim in the bathroom.  I will have to be careful not to paint a kitty cat.  Ah well, probably running the vacuum will have them hiding downstairs anyway!  Hosting my book club this week, my menu will include turkey vegetable soup, wild mushroom broiled with leeks, selection of cheeses and veggies, sparkling water and spritzers.  Oh, and my friend is bringing warm cider.  I give cookie plates to all the club members, then there are no more cookies in the house!  A great system for my diet.  Keeping the baked goods in the basement have kept them out of sight and mind, so haven't had any cookie cheats.  Just knowing I CAN have them, but CHOOSE not to is very empowering.
