150's group...daily updates
Bummer...can't work out like usual this morning...have to drop off a car at the shop with my husband and then have committments at my son's schools...
I hate getting off my routine...glad we have an elliptical...going to have to get on it tonight after the boy's hockey.
Goal today is to stick with 1200-1300 calories in case the workout doesn't happen....
Of course I woke up starving...going for the protien bar or the oatmeal...can't decide.
Good morning and have a great day all!

Good morning all.
Drank the wine, but didn't eat anything else and got in 90 oz. of water yesterday...Hubby wanted to have a glass of wine and go in the hot tub...so how could i resist? Good news is, the big bottle (I call it the house wine) is empty and I'm not going to buy another big bottle until Friday. I won't open any of the smaller bottles in the racks because they are all more expensive "special" wines. So that is how I'll avoid the wine til Friday. It's my plan anyway.
Drinking my coffee and going to eat some oatmeal before jazzercise. water, water, water, more protein, less carbs, more fruit....
Have a great day everyone!

Hello everyone! Well I took my measurements last week and thought I logged them in my journal but, I didin't. I took them again today and wanted to compare them when I got to work but couldn't :( I know for sure my waist went down and I think my thighs did but need that piece of napkin I wrote last weeks stats on. Hopefully I can find it at home. Yesterday was good. I ate healthy, did my 60 min gliding workout at the gym and resisted the urge for wine. It really made me think about how it would decrease my ability to burn fat and build lean muscle tissue. It's kinda pointless to push yourself through a workout you don't feel like doing to ruin it with a bottle of wine. So I'm proud of myself today and I hope you all are too!
Laurie thats a good way to avoid it :) keep it out of the house :) and congrats on all the water you drank yesterday :)
ltlmsmfft - hope you can find that napkin, so you can really see the difference... did you weigh in at your challenge today?? how did you do ?? and wtg on resisting the wine urge :)
well i weigh 1/2 lb less today :) yay :) AND I am wearing a shirt i wouldnt of worn before because it was much tooo tight :) its actually a bit loose :) yay :) everythings going to be off today though, cos i have to be at my daughters school from like 7 am to 9am, which is the time i usually work out.. so i am going to have to work my eating schedule and workout schedule out differently today.. we will see how it goes..
hope everyone has a wonderful day :)

Hello all... I decided to give up the scale for a week and see how I'm
doing next Wednesday. I had my husband hide the scale! Wish me luck.
Thank you all for your support yesterday.
Messam- I saw that you mentioned Si6. I'm on my ninth day and let me tell you, yes your ab's will get an excellent workout. I found Start it up to be pretty easy, so I moved right up to Ramp it up and struggle through the ab's section everyday. But it's fun and I feel so good about myself in the end.
Have a great day everyone!!!

unicat- doesn't it feel great to be able to wear that shirt?! as for the exercise time just remember it doesn't matter so much what time of day you do it and long as you do it!
well i did weigh in today only lost 1.5 lbs, but i'm convinced that low number has something to do with the ohhhhh aproximately 7 bottles of wine i consumed this week :(
i started a "no alchohol in feb callenge" in the wieght loss forum if anyone wants to join. i'm taking names until the 5th! i started yesterday and feel that i'm much more motivated knowing others are doing this with me and the fact that i started it puts a-lot of accountabillity on me. i need that.
by the way have i ever told you all that when i gave birth to my son (a healthy 6lbs 12 oz) i was full term and only weighed 128 lbs!!!! i thought i was a massive lump at the time now i'd be pretty happy to be back there!

sorry cant join you on the challenge, i dont drink...well maybe once or twice in a whole year.. lol..
hmmm.. when i had my first son, after i gave birth i weighed 153 i think, which was down from my prepregnancy weight, cos i was REALLY sick throughout my pregnancy... and thats the lowest i have been in almost 14 years (he turns 14 in june).. so i cant wait to hit that weight :) sooooooooooooooon :)

Okay...i couldn't resist and got on the scale...but I took my measurements today, so that was good. Maybe I should have hubby hide the scale.
Got a workout, ate some salad for lunch w/grilled chicken. Having a cup of chocolate tea now w/splenda and a little milk and savoring a see's candy lollipop. I stopped sucking it for a while so it will last longer. They are addicting and only 80 calories and last FOREVER. Someone gave them to my boys for xmas and i've been hoarding them. I'm not sure where to get them except online. I'll be bummed when they are all gone.
I can't do the no drinking challenge. I have 3 little boys and for their safety i need a glass of wine once in a while or I'll go bonkers on them.

poohct- you made me laugh out loud with that comment about the drinking challenge. i only have one and know what you mean. Your lunch sounds great mine's just ok. I took a chance on a Healthy Choice meal-blackened chix. The chicken and carmel apple desert are great. the sauce around the chix just ok, I left it and the rice is not edible in my humble opinion. I'm going to hit the vending machine for my old standby baked lays chips to make up for the lost calories in the meal. I'm having more luck with the Lean Cusine meals.
okay made it through the awards ceremony :) my daughter was the only one in her kindergarten class who got a perfect attendance award :) yay Hannah :) lol.. so now i just drank a protein shake, and i am going to do my exercise.. although waiting for it to kinda settle on my stomach for a few minutes, ugh... didnt taste bad but feels like its just kinda sitting there in my tummy :(
wateerphoenix - yay on hiding the scale, i cant do that lol.. good luck with the si6 also.. i am seriously thinking about it or some pilates, i just dont know if i will be able to do them lol.. have you ever done billy blanks basic training boot camp?? if so, how does it compare to si6?? or even to pilates lol. cos i have a hard time doing all the ab stuff billy does lol.. although i think i am starting to improve on it :)
Laurie - your lunch sounds good :) and have you taken your measurements before?? or is the first time?? and lol about going bonkers on the kids with no wine haha...
ltlmsmfft - i have eaten both healthy choice and lean cuisine and i

Hi. I'm just getting started on a diet and thought I'd join here. You all seem so motivated. Maybe it will rub off on me. I could possibly be the pickiest eater in the world which doesn't make dieting all that exciting. Plus I don't get home from work until 7ish and never feel like cooking so I've been eating cereal for dinner for the past two weeks. Gets old after awhile. I guess it is better than eating out though. Best of luck!
okay so i am trying something "new".... someone (i think from this thread, but i could be wrong, it could be from one of the numerous ones i have read since i joined here lol, but ty if it was one of you :) ) suggested that when sitting here or whatever that if i tightened my ab muscles for 30 second, that it would be basically like doing a situp/crunch... so... when doing my ddr (36 songs, 55 minutes, 304 calories worth) i started holding in my abs (as much as i felt i was holding them in, sometimes putting my hand on my belly helps me feeel that they are actually tightening each time) for the first 30 seconds of each song.. i did this for 20 of the 36 songs, and i FEEL like i worked them out some :) i also incorporated this kinda waist twist into the last ten songs.. i would hold my abs in, and do the "jumps" that required a foot in a front and a foot in back by twisting at the waist and making the bottom half of my body twist around to the left side (or right, i alternated) so that part of my body was facing left and my left leg would be on the back step and my right leg would be on the front step, and my top half would be facing forward still.. . i think this also helped work them out?? or am i diluting myself?? lol..

welcome to the group Kara :) have you been on cc long?? checked out the tools and such?? whats your weight at, and have you taken measurements (for those times when the scale just isnt showing weight loss, those measurements can be encouraging, occcassionally lol)... good luck on the weight loss.. and try varying your food.. a lot of people plan theirs out the day before or even the week before.. :) it will help, otherwise you are going to give up on it cos you get bored with the food..

Thanks Brigitte. I'm around 153 right now I believe. I have not taken measurements. I probably should. I do need to vary my food, but I eat very few foods in general. Mostly all carbs. Not so great. I guess to start out, I'm going to have to try to discover some new food choices. I'm definately going to work out everyday and keep my calorie intake down to less than 1200 whether the food is healthy or not.
welcome kara! maybe I can help you with your food. I usually eat cereal for dinner too! It's nutritious and low fat. Tell me what you like and don't like and mabye I can make some suggestions. The food forum is great for that too.
unicat-way to go with the sitting ab workout! that shows real determination.
I'm super excited my new york city ballet dvd's arrived today. I'm going to try Volume 1 after my cardio. I'll let you all know how they are.

Okay...woo hooo...I either caught up with the scale or the scale is all screwy. Went down 2 lbs this morning. Got up and did the 6am jazzercise and then weighed myself after my shower.I hope this number sticks. I will keep doing what I'm doing. I really tried to stay motivated and stick with it when the scale wasn't moving. Now I am praying it doesn't jump back up.
First time in a long time I cheered when I got off the scale.
water water water, more protein less carbs, be good with the sweets.
Happy day all!

I'm down to 155.8! I lost almost another lb! I did my kathy smith fat burn (40 min) and my new- New York City Ballet Workout (40 min). The ballet workout has easier and harder parts to do. Nothing is so difficult that I wont get the steps down right after 3-4 times ( and I am the girl with 2 left feet). It definetly works on toning, strengthening your core, balance and posture. I also found it to be somewhat relaxing with the classical music. Immediately afterwards I noticed an marked improvement in my posture and felt taller and more graceful. I recomend this workout for anyone looking for any of the above benefits.
It seems like we all have this incredible love/hate relationship with our scales. We weigh ourselves almost every day sometimes more than once in a day. We swear we are going to hide our scales to stop ourselves from the madness and then... when nobody is looking..... we run, retrieve the scale from it's hiding spot and jump on it in the hopes that it will have some sort of miraculous number on it. We know that more often than not no great miracle has occured, just normal weight loss (1-2 lbs per week for the average person) as the direct result from diet and exercise. (Sigh) And yet I can't wait to jump on the scale again in hopes of the elusive miracle....

Good morning everyone! Kara, welcome, and a bit of advice to you--you need to eat to lose--sounds counterintuitive, but its true. Do not go below 1200 cals per day--it is not healthy and it will put your body into starvation mode, causing you to store everything you eat as fat. Good luck to you dear, and jump in anytime to chat with us!
ltlmsmfft- you are absolutely right about the scale--I really did hide mine and I am not looking at it until next week sometime.
You guys should all pat yourselves on the back for the super job this week! Unicat, you should tell everyone about your shirt--before you know it your pants will be falling off of you too!
You know, I have never been a fan of any of those micro meals--I cook fresh, and if I do it the night before, Im not rushing in the morning. I know what its like to have no time to do anything, let alone cook a meal, but my philosophy is if I am going to eat it, it had better taste good!
Happy Thursday everyone! Dee

Just saw this group and thought I'd join. I'm celebrating today b/c I've lost 5 pounds so far and am now officially 155. Yippee!!!
I couldn't believe it when I weighed myself at the gym this morning. I haven't been that weight with my clothes on in a really really long time. I was feeling so guilty for eating a bit more than usual last night, but I guess it was nothing to worry about.
Aaaaahhhh. The sweet feeling of success.
Happy Thursday. Go Bears!

Welcome mrswuktisch! Awesome on your 5lbs so far--that is just great!
unicat, I'm tryiing that ab scrunchie thing you were talking about. If I remember when I'm sitting at my desk, I suck in my abs for 30 sec, then release! This move is great to get rid of the pooch--it works the transverse abs!
