Hi, I would like to get in shape for the summer...I am currently in college and have gained a bit more weight than I would have liked to:) I am 5'3 and weigh 143lbs...would love to go down to 125lbs or so over the course of the next few months and would love to hear from anyone else with the same situation?
I could certainly do with some motivation...someone to chat to when Im contemplating a chocolate binge:)
Me too! I was already getting tempted this a.m. with some cravings. I'm going for 500 by eliminating those calories.

Hey there ter295. I'm kind of in the same situation as you.. I'm 5'2" and weigh about 145 right now, whereas a year ago I weighed about 130-132. I'd love to be back to where I was a year ago this fall when I start college. Weight loss has been such a yo-yo thing for me in the past 3 months..I could do with some motivation too haha.
And here's the best part..I'm a MAJOR chocoholic. Yikes.

I usually run from my gym to Ala Moana Beach park and round around the park along the beach side. From my Gym around Ala Moana and back is about 3.4 miles. If I add Magic Islands (which is part of Ala Moana) thats about 4 miles.
Yummm, chocolate -ahahha, thinking about chocolate makes my mouth water but I'm gonna go wash this off with some water. Hey it works, so that might help you sjbrooker -if you want chocolate then make yourself drink 3 cups before eating the treat; if you really want it then there's no stopping you but if you don't then maybe the 3 cups will steer you away. Good luck with that -it's rough and tough, I understand!!![]()
bloody "#¤% - i agreed to the challenge yesterday...and what happens? my cousin comes over with a bottle of white wine and a bag of chips...and before i reach to think about it, i've downed half of it!!! One of my biiiig challenges is keeping with this healthy routine around others, because i've chosen to keep it private - i don't want to get into the whole "but you don't need to loose weight..." or "oh come onnnn, a little won't hurt you" - it's easier going it alone, because ppl don't pressure me when they don't know - they don't even notice that i avoid certain foods...but the moment i mention the word diet, it seems to push their "au contraire" button.... but yesterday i guess i blew it all by myself--- hope the flight today won't mess it up too much! I did go running again today, and did some strength excercises, since tomorrow will be all about the family and arriving in Jerusalem and all that... Well ladies, see you on Friday...:-)
snehvide-it is so difficult to limit your self in front of others! I have not told anyone besides my husband and even he is always tempting me with things. It is hard to drink lite beer or not eat dessert when people don't know you are watching things. Good luck with your travels. Running is a great way to burn some calories! I can't wait to up my mileage.
I did pretty good the first day of the challenge, not too much snacking. Today is a new day!

I've been on the road a lot lately and having trouble logging onto the computer and also monitoring my calories (officially). I don't think I've done too much damage but I do have the opportunity to be home and on top of my food choices this week. I'd like to jump on the bandwagon today through Thursday too. So far, so good today.
Challenge: i blew it on the very 1st day. Did well yesterday and I think I'll get through today just fine. I don't have social activites today so it makes it easier as you all have commented on.
Does our challenge include Friday? If so how the heck are you guys going to get through the 4th of july celebrations? ahhhhhh trouble's brewing!
Oh right, Friday is a holiday! Well that's good news! I think I may just consider Friday my maintenance day, get in some good exercise in the morning and not worry about it.
I try to do something like this once or twice per week anyway. Seems to help me a lot. Also wards off the plateaus as a makeshift zig-zag:)
I hope we can all enjoy the holiday weekend!
What special plans do you all have?
So far so good with the challenge. Yesterday I biked 30 miles so I burned plenty of calories there. Today is ok. No exercise, but haven't eaten too much food. Will try to eat a light dinner. Tomorrow is the last day of the 4 day mini challenge for me. I am leaving for a week long vacation to a cottage starting friday and will be maintaining. The holiday will be tough, so hopefully I will fill up on veggies! Potlucks are killers. Delicious and rarely nutricious. my goal is to exercise and only put small portions on my plate and not stand around the food (then I snack too much)
Well as far as the challenge goes -it was a good experience, let's do it again?! Who's interested?!
It was helpful for me too. I'd like to hope folks will be interested in doing this after the 15th. As of the 5th, I'm on the road until the 16th. Very tough to find what you need for 10 days at restaurants not to mention log consistently and accurately. Will have to watch portions and activity level.

Wow! I'm 5' 3'' and weight 138 pounds. I started at 148. I would like to be around 124.
I would love to join if you still have room. But how does one "join" a group?
Okay, its weigh in day. I'm at 137. A pound up from last week!!!! I did have my birthday, indulged a bit and had a couple get togethers, so I really need to get on track next week. Happy July 4th to everyone!!!!!!
Oh no!! Help! I am going the wrong way. My weights been creeping up over the past couple of weeks. I'm at 142 now.
I'm almost back to where I started 7wks ago. SHOOT! I do have to confess I've relaxed on excercise & counting while working on the issue I mentioned that arose about a wk and 1/2 ago. It really is quite serious, so it's front burner now.
This next week I'm going to really get back into diet & excercise. It will probably help me handle the other issue in my life. Sorry for the downer post. I'm glad I can share it with you guys though.
I had a great 4th with my family. Lots of swimming, bbq, & music and capped off with fireworks.

If people stop checking in, after about 3 wks I stop charting them b/c we assume they are not interested in participating here any more. Of course that's cool b/c we all "click" with certain groups or people more that others.

hey ladies! i'm 5'10" and i'm down to 148lbs but i'm struggling to get those last lbs off so i can get down to about 135. i don't wanna be bone thin, so i'm lifting weights with a trainer twice a week and doing strength training on my own in addition to 3-5 days of cardio a week. ideally i'd like to be trim and very toned. i like a very defined look. i've been using the site for about a week now and i'm really proud of how hard i've been working. i'm hoping i can join the group (even though i'm a little late) and participate in the next challenge to help me get rid of those last 12lbs!!

Hello ladies / newcomers...
I'm travelling these days, and have already have a really hard time trying to keep within my eat meter - especially since I haven't excercised...today I did a half hour on the elliptical, but travelling with my daughter proves to be very hard, when trying to keep with a weight loss program... she needs my attention a lot and won't allow me to go off to work out, despite my mom being here with her...
So, weigh in was yesterday, and while I know i've done the conversion to pounds, these next few weeks i won't be, and will therefore do my weigh ins in kilos - i hope that's okay... but i'm up about a pound> now at 59.6 again (the same as previous weigh in!!!)
will have to get my act together, since the wedding is on the 18th and my dress fits as if drawn on me....in other words> no room to add!!!
