♥"A Healthy Baby & Me" Pregnancy Group♥

Quote  |  Reply

Since there are a few of us who are interested in staying healthy and active during our pregnancy, I thought it would be great to start a "pregnancy group".

I know that for many of us, it is easy to get caught up in the pregnancy and sometimes we do not always worry about what kind of food we are eating or if we are active.

This group will serve as a daily, weekly, or whenever you want check-in to keep us all motivated to remain healthy and active throughout our pregnancies.  Feel free to discuss whatever else you may want as well.

Here are some helpful links to check out as well:

Hi everyone;  just wanted to check in to see how everyone os doing!!  everything is good on my end; got my bags packed and the baby's for the hospital.  It really is a waiting game at this point-  2 more weeks to go and I'll be a mom!  How exciting.  I'm trying to sleep as best I can; pee breaks are very frequent!!  and, my hips hurt if I stay on one side too long.  i can feel her squirming around in there-  I just hope she's as excited to meet me as I am to meet her!!

have a great week ladies-  post soon!

Snowqueen93 ~ Congrats on your pregnancy!

Tammy_180 ~ Good luck with TTC.  We hope to see you here soon.  Smile

Vanessa ~ You are getting so close!  How exciting!  I hope the next two weeks are as comfortable as they can be.  (((hugs)))

SO!!! I found out yesterday that I'm pregnant for the third time. My sons are 13 and 9, never thought I'd be this excited to start from scratch. My husband and I are so excited!!!!! Looks like I'm about 4 weeks along, won't know for sure until next Tuesday when I go for my appointment. I did the calculation based on the first day of my last period and got March 9th so we're thinking it's going to be between March 9th and the 15th.

Yesterday I called my doctor's office to get them to call me in a blood test. I was told to take an at home test first. I bought a 2 pack. Since it was lunchtime, I was working, I went to the park I go to for lunch everyday and used the bathroom there. Apparently you can pee too much on the stick!! LOL! I had to wait another 30 minutes to retake it because it was one of those readers you use multiple times but had to eject the stick. I was so nervous then had to wait longer! Went back to work and used the cup method, darn thing read pregnant in a minute! After dinner we went to the grocery store and bought another one. I told my husband that usually you get false negatives not false positives! But here we are... pregnant! So much to do, so much to read. I haven't been pregnant in 9 years!

Oh my gosh Pam!!!!  Congrats!!!!  Have you told your boys yet?  I signed up for weekly email updates on the growth of the fetus at www.babycenter.com and www.pregnancyweekly.com.  I like getting the weekly email updates on what my baby is doing, but they also have helpful calendars with daily stuff for you to read.

I know this is totally off-topic, but did you ever find a work at home job?  That insurance lady we talked to finally quit calling me.  LOL!  I never found any legit work at home jobs, so here I am waiting to have this baby and maybe go back to work part-time. :)

cecilyb03, I sent you a message!

So I bought this dvd yesterday. The reviews are amazing. Anyone have any experience with it? I'm dead set on working out for my entire pregnancy and making the attempt of the recommended 25-30 pound weight gain. Of course things could change at any moment, lol... but it's good to have a goal right?

Hello all. Haven't been on in a while and wanted to check back in. I am way too lazy to read all the previous posts (LOL), but I see a few new faces have joined the group.

I am 26 weeks today and feeling great. I ride my bike everywhere and couldn't be better. I am no longer working as a result of downsizing and I will happily draw unemployment until the 26 week limit (with 30 days disability in between)and enjoy every minute I can with my 5 year old. Still in school part-time and loving it as well.

As for appointment and baby updates, baby Ella Katherine is growing fine and working on her martial arts as well. I have gained 13 lbs so far (none the last 4 weeks) and feel good. I am able to exercise and go-go-go for now. We have a busy summer schedule with Alex's gymnastics and theatre and my school. I love it!

Hope everyone else is able to enjoy their pregnancy even a fraction of what I am. Laughing

shill-  it sounds like everything is going very well for you!!  kudos to you for riding your bike!!  (just make sure you wear a helmet)  cars scare me!!  it sounds like you are very busy-  that's great!!

i got bit my the haggen-daaz bug yesterday.  I polished off a pint of mint choc chip.  i felt terrible!  well, for consuming so many calories-  the ice cream was fab!  and I haven't done that since I first found out i was preggo (was bit by the ben and jerry's bug then...)  I've been consistently gaining .5 pound each week in my last month.  Total weight so far has been about 43.  Still walking everywhere (and working) so I don't eat much during the day; and when I do-  it's healthy.  I have my george foreman grill by my side and have been eating grilled chicken and salmon (1-2 times per week for essential fatty acids) and if i eat pasta it's the whole wheat with Omega-3's and fiber.

Hope all is doing well.  10 days to go.  Some days are really good-  others I'm very tired.  But all in all energy is verh very high and this little one it shifting and squirming a lot!  I just can't wait to meet her!
hey all- i posted some preggo pics! after looking at them, I don't think I gaines too much weight. A little in my face- but my arms are OK. Anyone have any new belly pics to share?

I think you look great, especially for being ready to POP any day now. Congrats ahead of time. You will have your hands full in a short time. I have tons of pics in my gallery throughout the pregnancy. I have pregnancy narcicism...LOL!

26.2 weeks today.

shill you look great!!!!  i love your preggo pics.  and I love taking them of myself too!!!!!   good luck with your pregnancy-  you are definitley wearing it well so far!!  :)

Hi Ladies!

How is everyone handling the summer heat?

flgirl ~ Congrats!  How did your appointment go?

Shill ~ Enjoy your time off with your little one.  :)  Ella Katherine is such a pretty name.

Vanessa ~ How are the last few days of pregnancy going?  I can only imagine how anxious you are to see your beautiful baby girl.  0.5lb a week weight gain is right on target with what is suggested.  Smile

Rainbow, how far along are you? I'm supposed to find out at 18 weeks what the sex is. Will I be feeling my baby kick at that time? That seems crazy to know that he/she will be kicking soon.

UTR,  I looked into working from home, but everything looks like a scam.  Every "opportunity" seemed to expect me to pay some sort of start-up fee, about $20 or so.  No thanks!  I'm sort of thinking of just going to work part-time at some point just to get a break from babies and to interact with other adults.  But with hubby's weird schedule, it might be harder to do than it sounds.

Nenewa, I felt my baby kick at exactly 16 weeks.  I don't remember how far along I was with my son (my first), but I think I felt him around 18-20 weeks.  Not much longer, and you should be feeling your baby moving, too. :)  But let me warn you, the novelty wears off after several months of Baby beating you while you try to sleep. ;)

hi, i am week 4 early i know.  Exercise elliptical vigorous for 1 hour, eating healthy and trying to get all my servings. i guess the only one i find hard is fruits..

My appointment went well... I'm due 3/8/09! My calculations were only off by a day! I've only gained about 1/2 a pound so far and at 6 weeks, that's pretty good. I started my workout dvd for pregant ladies and it's really wonderful! I go back at 10 weeks for my first ultrasound! So exciting! I'm already bloated in the belly though, have my belly band on today with my pants unzipped and unbuttoned, lol!

Hi everyone!

flgirl-  glad to hear your doc's appt went well.  it's so exciting; isn't it?  You haven't gained hardly anything at all!  That's great!  What is the DVD called that you are using?

ms. rainbow-  I can't belive you are already 1/2 way through your pregnancy.  I can't wait for you to find out what the baby is!!  What does your intuition tell you?

luvmyboy-  congrats on your pregnancy!!!  And good for you for getting on the eliptical.  I stayed on there (although slower) up until my fourth month, then I switched to the treadmill; b/c it was too much on my bladder  :)

nenewa-  I want to know what you are having too!

I woke up today thinking that I was having contractions.....but....it turned out to be a stomack bug that kept me chained to my bathroom.  I'm still nauseaus-  but there isn't much left -  I heard that going to the b-room and having stomach "ails" are a sign that labor will be soon.  Well, that's what I am hoping for at least.  The pain in my stomach was unbearable.

I'm going to the doc tomorrow.  I'm going to take it easy today and rest.

Flgirl ~ How wonderful that you were only a day off.  Smile  I bet you are super excited to get your first sonogram.

Vanessa1031 - I'm using "The Perfect Pregnancy Workout with Karyne Steban". She's an ex Cirque De Soleil acrobat. Some of the moves are easy now but I can tell already that as my belly expands, it will get harder. I've only done it twice and the day after the first time, my shoulders and triceps were rather sore. My heartrate is only slightly elevated. It's mainly a sculpting dvd and focuses on leg strength, upper body strength and we even do kegels during rest periods to prepare for labor and delivery. Overall, the runtime is approximately 41 minutes. I highly recommend it!

Vanessa- I think you will have that baby in the next two days. That's my prediction. Your body is definitely telling you something! Eek! I'm so excited for you!!!Laughing
