tall club 5'10'' and over ladies who want to lose 20-30 lbs... join me for weekly weigh-ins and motivation!!

Lauren in San Diego here (5'11'').  I was up to almost 180 lbs at the end of last year and I lost about 10 pounds during Jan-Feb and then got lazy.  I need to get back on the wagon.  I think I weigh around 170 and I would like to be 150.  Weigh in on Fridays for me starting tomorrow.  I would love to chat with others who have similar stats and goals to stay motivated.  All my girlfriends are little petites, I need some amazon love!!

Let's look hot and healthy this summer!!!

Happy Weigh In Day!

I'm starting to feel a little better now that the medication's been in my system for almost a month, so hopefully this next week will include more calories. Although I do admit, I'll miss the dramatic drop off in weight that comes from only having water and soup Wink I mean come on, is being healthy really that important? Haha.

Congratulations ladies! You're all doing tremendously!

Yay!  Down 2 more.

Happy Friday everyone!  Welcome to all the newcomers!  I fell WAY off the wagon food-wise 2 weeks ago and I've been trying to get back to where I was ever since.  I gained over 6 lbs (sodium/carbs  - not my friends), but I've lost most of it again.  Focus, focus...

I do really well on my own, but it's difficult with more social activities and so much food around and the reality of the fact that I'm not exercising as I should.  I'm also in high gear getting ready for our trip to Italy (we leave next Friday for 2 weeks), so I'm working more hours than I normally do.  Such a problem to have, though, right?  I keep reminding myself of that!  I figure if I can stay 175 or under until the middle of July I'll be doing well, considering I'm going to fully enjoy italian food on the tip.  When I get back I'm doing a week long cleanse and then incorporating physical activity into my weekly schedule.  It's good to have goals!

Happy Weigh In tall chiquitas!

I was scared of a plateau, after 3 weeks of not seeing a new low.

However...

5'11"

158!! Down 2 lbs from last week's weigh in.

An encouraging note; if you're stuck, keep doing what you're doing. It will eventually work.

And just a side note to celebrate; 158 was my original goal and is also my "ideal weight" on most charts. Dang! I never thought I'd be here. I also wanted to be at this weight before my birthday, July 1. I feel so accomplished!

Can't wait to see how everyone else did.

I can hardly wait until I can announce that I am at my optimum weight!!! Congrats Skookum!!

My goal is approximate because if I end up feeling good at 148 or 152 then that is where I will try to maintain. I just remember being 145 and being happy about it.

I've had quite a few doctors appt lately as I just found out I am diabetic and alot of what we chat about is food. My doctor swears that there are no secret formulas regarding weight loss other than...what goes in, must be worn off or it gets stored. He told me plateaus are someones way of teaching us patience because if we are burning what we are consuming we will not gain and if we are burning more then we will lose weight. Its all just a matter of time and patience.

On that note, do any of you have any alcohol based drinks that aren't really bad for you. I am a big fan of margaritas and we are leaving for holidays next week. Camping in the desert with friends and I know I am going to want to have drinks in the evening...any suggestions!!

Well congrats to everyone who has lost this week, I am a little stuck at 136 but im not too peed cos i deserve it, I havent  been working out as much as i could and although ive been eating less to compensate, I went out to a thai restaurant thurs for my boyfs bday and had 3 courses and wine.. so thatll teach me, you gotta enjoy life as well though, cest la vie!! back on track today, definitely going to the gym for a good hour and a half today and tomorrow and then hopefully Ill start losing again next week, one pound away from my mini goal of 135 for my bday (June 29)!! fingers crossed!!

I'm oky with only adding two lbs.  I haven't excercised all week and I've been eating a lot of popcicles.

You know it's hot when...

... you come home in the middle of the afternoon to find out your central heater that is in the attic has turned it's blower on because the attic is SO hot that it thinks the heater is overheating.

The poor a/c was trying to keep up with the hot air that the central heater was blowing into my house from the attic! Ohhhhh, what will that do to my electric bill???? I forgot to turn off the power to the heater to shut it down for the summer and this is what I get. It's off now!

Stay cool everyone,

~Beth

PS I posted some pictures of this morning's sunrise to my latest journal entry.

oh dont tell me how hot it is everywhere, in ireland it is wet, wet, wet, so sick of rain.. come on its the middle of June... give me some sunshine already!!!

Morning Ladies! Another week begins! Good luck everyone, and look at all these losses last Friday!

Beth: Thanks for sharing your pictures!

k110465: Feel better! I've been sick too, and it sucks! I wish I had been eating only popsicles!

carolally: I'm with you! While yesterday was a lovely day in London, it was the first we've had in a while! I actually like the weather here, but I could really go for a nice, hot, day at the beach.... even more so when I reach my goal! My fingers are crossed that you add making your goal to the list of things you'll be celebrating on your birthday!

monkeyfish77: Thanks so much thats very sweet of you, I'm back in my exercise buzz now which is about time really, so I'm a little afraid of the scales at the moment as Ill probably be showing an increase of water weight, i'm gonna try not to let that cloud my head though, I know its not real weight gain, gonna weigh in tomorrow just to keep on track though and hopefully ill be down a little, itd really help motivate me for the week ahead!

Hey guys! I hope everyone had a great weekend! I was out of town from Thursday until last night so I missed the weigh day, but I weighed this morning, and even after a weekend of not much exercise and not super strict calorie counting, I lost almost a pound since Tuesday :)

Start weight for this group (6/17/08): 186.6

I hope you ladies have a great day!!! And congrats to everyone on their progress so far!!

Good Morning!  I'm back at work after a week off.  I'll see if my popsicle diet has affected my work ethic.   I'm still trying to figure out how this posting stuff works do i just reply to the last persons post or do I reply to the original post?

Morning Ladies,

Happy Monday!  I was down in Florida this weekend for the college friend's wedding and it was great!  I missed weigh-in this week and I have to say that I am a little nervous to step on the scale (conviently "forgot" this morning).  I did get in one workout, an 8 mile run, but I skipped the rest of the days.  I drank quite a lot every night which was bad, but there were activities every night!  Anyhow, I am ready to get back on track this week now that summer has officially started!  You are all great motivation hearing all of your successes.

k110465- I hope you are feeling better, I hear there is a pnemonia epedimic going around, no fun!  focus on getting better, and then resuming with us here!

Beth, your pictures are beautiful, did you say you live in South Carolina?

Caroline- I did not know you lived in Ireland, how neat!  Congrats on getting so close to your g.w., you are much better at staying on track with calories than I am, I need to learn something from you to keep losing!

xxwhitxx- I hear you on being away, I had the same thing happen!  good job on losing 1 lb, and for being brave enough to step on the scale!  Lets have a great catch-up week!

Hope you all have a great week, and I may not weigh-in at all this week until Friday's weigh-in to redeem myself from the weekend :)

-Danielle

carolally: Definitely focus on all the good exercise and food choosing you're doing! I also weigh in nearly every day, unless I know it's just going to be awful and mess with my head. Weighing in every day means I'm never especially surprised by my weight, because if I suddenly gain 5 pounds overnight, I can look back on my choices and comfortably say that there's no way I ate 15,000 calories the day before.

xxwhitxx: Congrats on your loss!

k110465: I don't think there are any real rules. When I have time to post regularly, I often will try to answer everyone's, but when I haven't posted in a few days, that's really impractical! The original post is pretty old now, so it might be easier to just respond to the more recent ones.  I hope you're feeling better!

dplatzer: Hey Danielle- I'm glad the wedding was fun! You're right, There IS no way you ate that much. I'm guessing that all the running around you did in Fl might have been enough- I rarely gain on holiday because I'm so much more active on a holiday than I am at my desk job.

Not much is new with me. I'm sore from my back workout yesterday, so I did just legs today. I expect I'll be moving a little slowly in the morning! If I'm not, I might try for my first cardio since I got the cold from hell.

My husband got back from Rome today bearing lots of treats. He knows I have a sweet tooth and he loves to indulge it.  I used to ask him not to bring this stuff home, but he inevitably does because he knows I love it. Now, I must be strong and resist  temptation! Surprisingly, I have gotten better with practice. but it is always hard!

Happy Monday to all of you!

k110465 - When you hit "reply" it just puts your post at the end. So it doesn't matter which "reply" you hit. If you want to quote someone though, then you hit "quote." Hope that helps. I hope you are feeling better, too.

carolally and monkeyfish77 - I'd love to see your side of the globe some day! I lived overseas once but I was in Papua New Guinea which sits on the equator above Australia. But I've never been to Europe and would love to one day. My husband got to travel to a few places in Europe while he was a Senior in High School. I know he went to Italy but I can't remember where else without asking him.

xxwhitxx - Congrats on your loss after being away. That's good news.

Danielle - I live in South Texas on the Gulf Coast in a city called Corpus Christi.

I'm going on vacation later this week. We're headed up to North Texas to see family. It will be a challenge for me to keep on track but I'm gearing up for it.

Here is some interesting Texas trivia: It will take us about 8 hours to drive from Corpus to the Dallas metroplex. From Brownsville (way South Texas) to Amarillo (way North Texas) it is about a 14 hour drive. I guess that's why some of us Texans hardly ever get out of Texas. Wink

Have a great week everyone,

~ Beth

Good Morning Everyone!

My mom, grandmother and little cousin gave me a surprise visit this week.  I havent seen them in over 6 months.  Now Im really scared to weigh in on Friday since we have been eating so much... ( I have the stereotype of an Italian grandmother)  everything is made with olive oil!

Good Morning!  I think I've hit a road block.  My scale doesn't show any weight gain, but I feel fat.  I've slowly been losing but keep hoping for a huge drop.  I haven't restarted my excercise routine yet, my DR. wants to see me before I start (due to pnuemonia)

amariep--Olive oil is good for you.  I read a study of people who ate monounsaturated fats with every meal, lost weight.  they didn't make any other changes to their diet-just ate olives, olive oil, nuts, avacados, and dark chocolate and lost an averageof 12 pounds in 6 months. I think this is the basic element of the Mediterrainan diet that is supposed to be so healthy. Just stick to olive oil and decrease the pasta!

Yikes!  It has been a while and I have just started back on CC this week.  It has been a hectic last month or so and I have done some damage and gained back! LOL

So...I started over fresh on Monday the 23rd and am back into my routine!  Glad to see such a following to this group and can't wait to get to know you all.

Thanks for the motivating posts and good luck to all!
