Ive battled with my weight my whole life(if you want to know more you can check out my profile)and Im looking for people like me out there, close to my age who can relate to what I am going through. Im doing the 12 week exercise program and so far Im doing really good (just finished day 8)! I would love to get a group together to share progress and challenges and failures etc. Anyone?

Seeing the scale go under a number you don't want to be at is soooo nice! Congrats Brett!

Unsupportive housemates ... I don't know ... maybe just start to relish your status as the odd one out ... try to make it special, but be cheerful about it so they don't make you feel bad ... "ha ha, I'm the sucker who has to watch what she eats"

OKay my first weigh in. Wednesday i was 247.5

 Today 245.

Yay! 2 lbs!

Congrats to everyone who lost this week, especially Brett, I bet that was a big hurdle to cross! This is really helping me keep up my focus, knowing i'm accountible each week and am telling people about it.

Unsupportive housemates... I've honestly dealt with that since I started college when i was 17 until even now, when i'm 24, my roommate THINKS she doesn't have to watch what she eats. Honestly, all I can say is, I know how you feel. I couldn't fight that battle until I was somewhat separated from those people just by growing into life. My current roommate and I don't spend a lot of time together. I've found one really helpful tool is to challenge them. Tell them they can't go for an entire month drinking just water and make a game out of it. Maybe that will take a little bit of the strain off if they take the bait.

I love how supportive everyone is being! I think you are all amazing and I wish we could get together in person every friday! sincere congrats to everyone.

So as you all know Ive been very lazy lately and I wasnt looking forward to weigh day but Ive still been counting calories and trying to be more active in general...taking the stairs and stuff. DRUM ROLL PLEASE! 2 weeks ago 178.5... last week 183 oops...this week 181! down 2 lbs, Im very happy. I have a mini goal to be under 180 by the 15th and I think I can do it. I hope I can do it... what should my reward be???

Good Job and welcome BigBrett and T brinkley

Ms Kirsten- You'll be under that mar in no time, just stay motivated and congrats on the loss

Like Veg Geek said try to be positive when they invite you try not to be like "no thanks" I'll just have this carrot stick" lol But be positive tell them to enjoy themselves and decline with a smile :-) ALso maybe one day you could cook for them something nice healthy and delicious and they can see this "diet thing" isn't too bad.

Congrats again to everyone and stay motivated.Laughing

weighed in yesterday... 141... I'm beginning to think I can't go any lower! it's like a broken record......

i've been doing MUCH better w/ water intake; and i've started w/ a personal trainer... grrrrrr! I'm tired of not seeing that scale move AT ALL!!!

So I weighed myself today and I lost a few water pounds.

Yesterday 188

Today 185

Now I am off to walk the boardwalk ~ 4.2 miles. Im going to try to do it in 50 minutes. I think that might work out to be 4.5 mph.

OK so it took me 60 minutes.....thats still 4.0 mph

thanks amayou! congrats to you too! how often do you go to the gym?

hot pink dont worry hon youll get there! I only wish I was stuck at 141 haha. how much is your personal trainer? and hows that going so far?

haha I love to complain!!!!

Kirsten I usually hit the gym 3 times a week with an extra day. But next week I'm gonna start going 4 times a week, with maybe an extra day.

Hot Pink Don't be discouraged I was on my plateau for over a month, you'll get over the hump.

Congrats Laurie, keep up the good work.

Hi everyone.  I was so busy on Friday that I missed weighing in.  No matter though, I lost 0 :(  I've been working out everyday though which is a change so hopefully next week I will see some results.  Congratulations to all the "losers" ;) and I hope everyone triumphs over the next couple of days!  Personally I'm kinda bummed but I want you all do to do really well so I guess I'll wish that on myself as well and keep at it.  Undecided

So I'm almost out of the 20s range...man that makes me feel old...

I started CC in conjunction with that Discovery Health promo offering a free 8 wk membership to Bally's so I've been going there every day this week and also cutting back calories.  I haven't weighed myself since I started but my belt cinched one hole tighter!!  Small steps:)

I was also debating whether or not to sink the money into getting a personal trainer-I met with one on Monday and another one of his clients was singing his praises but it's a little pricey...anybody recommend or not recommed it?

kirsten and therria4-

The personal trainer is working out pretty well....I'm only doing 4 visits...just enough for her to make me a plan and introduce me to the scary weight machines i've been ignoring..... ( and to also give me good at home exercises to do....)

I actually purchased the 4 sessions through a charity auction for $50...I didn't think that was too bad...

She seems to be very attentive to anything I may be doing wrong, which I like. If I'm doing something like weight lifting, I want to get the full effectCool
so in short, for me so far it's a good investment, although i'll keep you posted.

Sorry I didn't weigh in on Friday, usually I go on during my lunchbreak and then go walking but work was so crazy I didn't get to do either,....buuuut, I stepped on the scale this morning and I weigh 156!  Down from 160 two weeks ago.  I have a mini-goal of 155 by next Friday and I'm so so happy because I'm determined to make it; I haven't weighed under 160 for probably 4 years. :)  Thank you all for being so supportive and motivational, it really does help!

kirsten420, you'll be able to meet that goal, just stay strong - think of how good you'll feel to step on that scale and say 'I did it, I set a goal and I really did it!'

Congrats to all those who lost; those who haven't - just stay on track, sometimes it does take awhile before the scale reflects all of the hard work you do.

ckafflecktion - it's tough living w/people who like to eat fast food, it was hard to try and break my fiance of that too b/c I couldn't stay on track.  Most fast food places have nutritional information posted on their website - If you do decide to go out to eat, check online first and pick the best/healthiest choice and stick with it.  Also, have something to eat before you go, maybe a yogurt with some granola in it and a piece of fruit, that way you're not famished when you get there and give in to the super-greasy-100gram of fat foods!

Hurray scarter!!! That's outstanding.  I'm sure you'll be at 155 by Friday :)
ckafflecktion I think eating something healthy before going is a great idea or have a big glass of water when you get there, get a side salad and finish that before you have anything else. It’s funny that you mention Taco Bell because I manage a KFC/Taco Bell and you can ask for whatever ‘Fresco Style’ which greatly reduces the fat, but I totally know how you feel. It’s amazing how unsupportive people can be sometimes; I’m saying that in the nicest way possible. My boyfriend Kevin (we've been living together 2 years now) doesn’t eat healthy in any way. He has a great body because he works heavy labour but he eats crap and lots of it! And he loves me and loves that I’m trying to loose weight and praises me all the time for it, but he’s not about to change the way he eats. The healthier I cook the healthier he eats but he always buys Pillsbury cookie dough and makes fresh cookies..how do you say no to fresh cookies?? That’s not all pistachio nuts, tortilla chips and WHITE BREAD... he will only eat white bread... the list goes on and on. But honestly every time you say no you feel a little stronger and you’re that much closer to making those positive changes. Hope that helps

Ok..I haven't admitted to anyone but myself what my weight is...so I started at 248.5 last saturday and it's now Sunday so 8 days..and I'm 241.  I went to the gym I watched my calories and I've felt really great all week.  I stopped eating meat back in September and since then I've lost about 30 lbs...but I kinda tapered out at around 250 or so...so I started counting calories and working out at Bally's.  So far so good..and I think I'll purchase the membership once this 8 week promo is over.

The rest of you guys are awesome...I love reading your updates because it gives me some much needed motivation!!

Congrats therria4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!that is so awesome!!!!!!!!!Laughing

Sounds like your doing a great job-thanks for YOUR  inspiration!!

You got a great deal on the training sesssions hotpinkgirl I priced them out through some networks here and most are like $75 a session..the bally's trainers are like 4 sessions for $170.

Í got a pretty good workout last monday from the first session so this week I'm going to double it..and I think next Monday I'll pay for a session to get a different workout.

Scarter Good job on the loss, you'll be to your mini goal in no time.

therria, Welcome, and kudos on the weight loss. I'd say wait on the personal trainer, do as much as you can on your own and then when you really need it get the help you need.
