Clean Eating Challenge

Quote  |  Reply
Ok, there seems to be a mysterious condition going around that is causing sabotage to our eating. I know I'm not alone here when I admit that my eating this past little while leaves a lot to be desired, causing slight weight gain after such hard work to lose it.

I also know, that I am the same person who was practically flawless in my eating for like almost 90 days straight, so I know I can get ahold of this - who's with me??

There is no deadline for sign-ups, anyone can join at any time!!

All you have to do is check in once a week (at least) & let us know how you're doing. If/when you "cheat", simply let us know & I will restart your start date.

A cheat is defined as whatever a cheat would mean to you personally, whether it be going over your calories, bingeing, not eating enough, too many treats, etc. We all know when we've cheated, so just be honest with yourself

Let's be honest with each other & keep each other eating clean k? The PRIZE to the winner? Well that's easy - weight loss!!!!!!!!! (or maintenance for those at that stage!) Let's do this!

Dee

********************************************* ***

Here's the list of all signed up & the new rules:
(let me know if I missed you)

If you lose your mind & cheat, just let me know. Then you can re-start from the next day. I'll simply unbold your name, along with updating your new start date.

After being clean for a week after a re-start, I'll re-bold your name. So you always have a chance to feel like you are succeeding.

Also, if you just don't feel like you want to partake in the challenge anymore, can you let me know so I can remove your name from the list? Thanks!!

Anyone not checking in for one week (December 25 - December 31) will be removed from the challenge.

Good luck all! People's names in bold have been going the longest or have not restarted for at least a week - way to go!!!!!!!!

Deejlb, congrats on Day 5!  Don't worry about the scale.... I hate them anyway!  Keep up the good work, and thanks for organizing the list!!!
Thanks marlasinger& you're welcome!!
Another clean day for me, so far! I was in my school caf for lunch today and i resisted getting any dessert or fries! just stuck to my sandwich i brought from home =D. yay. maybe there's a good reason to why unhealthy food can be soo expensive! have a good weekend everyone!
still clean.... sticking to my calorie limit.... working the weekend so i'll run past the chips/candy aisle...  :):)
Ok add me to the list.  Gonna clean eat with the rest of you I hope!

Been clean for approximatley 39 days and I want to keep it up!
Yep....clean today. Although, i did enjoy a DELICIOUS Godiva chocolate toffee caramel bar. 190 calories. I was really craving chocolate so i had that instead of my cliff/luna bar. yuuumm.....
Clean with dinner still to go ... but I did an hour of yoga AND took an extra-long walk today, so it would be hard to cheat now!  Still need 10g of fiber though, so I'm thinking I'll make chili.  Oh, and I had my first maintenance weigh-in ... and the scale hasn't budged.  Yay!
Done with clean eating....day 6, and it was tough, my daughter brought home cupcakes from the bakery she works at! But per my diet plan, tomorrow is my "Free Day". I have lost 3 pounds this week! I feel really great!
Can you add me to the list please.. If not now, add me for June.. Seriously I need it.. Thanks.
Day #5 complete, and clean...

I have to share - I was tempted by all the fresh baked goods at the grocery store - but I got my salad, and left quickly.

Looking forward to tomorrow...
what a great idea for modivation. I think about it everytime I look at the cookie dough in the fridge.
I would be tempted to do this, but I'm not even sure what I define as "clean" -_-; .  I mean, just the other day I felt perfectly justified eating Pretzel Fipz (not a good food by any stretch) just 'cause I calculated and had the leftover cals!  I think I need to set a few more boundaries for myself.
Had a perfect day! yay! Even had to bring one meal on the road today, & almost forgot my treat. OMG that would have been disasterous!!! THank God I remembered!!! It was yummy. Hey I forgot we bought some of those little 100 cal chocolate cupcake things, you know where you get 3 tiny ones. Maybe tomorrow I'l have that for treat!

================================

piecesofme- way to resist dessert & fries!!!

mikeblaze - consider yourself added! Congrats on 39 days!!! You are inspiration to us all!

rezaiasl- mmmm godiva chocolate! yum!!! Glad you enjoyed it!

lysistrata- wow girl! I"m so proud of your first successful maintenance weight in !!!! You'll have to fill us all in for when we get there. I know I asked b4 but can you remind me, how many cals are you taking in for mainteance? & what is your weight right now? thanks!

carie87 - wow! 3 lbs already this week!!! woooo hoooo!

dtpatty- i've added you, welcome, & good luck!

chanb73- way to race past the bad stuff!

naia_zifu- soooo, you want me to add you??? I wasn't sure. You know, in my books, if the cals are there & you want "it" then, in my opinion, it's allowable. But I'm not one to watch my percentages of fatvsproteinvscarbs. I just eat for calories (1200). & it's worked so far!!! K, let me know.

Good luck for the rest of the weekend!!!! Be strong everyone!

Day 5 went SO well yesterday!  I even let myself have two Limon Diet 7-ups, and still came in shiny and clean with my calories.  It was because instead of ordering sweet and sour chicken at this new asian place by our house, I ordered the Braised Vegetables and Fried Tofu stir fry and Asian Vegetable Soup.  It was so yummy and didn't blow my Clean Eating.
ugh, still eating clean yet i've gone up a pound. and this is after exercising every morning this wk. and there is no way its some muscle gained either. i feel doomed.
oh pinthin, I have been sticking to my calories since april25th, drinking 70-80ounces of water a day, exercising and my weight graph looks like an EKG. It's absurd but i know how many calories i am taking in and burning so it doesnt make any sense...I am going to keep it up until my body gives up and releases some fat. I don't care if it takes a year...hang in there!!

This is my first time to participate.  Just starting my new weight loss lifestyle.  This will be great encouragement.  Count me in!
After 3 days of weighing the same, I'm down! YEAH!!!! 153.2. As of today, I've lost 41lbs !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm soooo happpy!

How's that for motivation to keep eating clean!!! I only have 18.2 more lbs to go till goal!

===============================

lesli: it starts right now!!! I have entered yor name & put your start date beside it. If you cheat, just le me know & I'll reset your start date & put your name in italics like a few above. The idea with the dates & italicizing names is so that we can clearly see who is still eating clean from day one, but we can still see that those who cheated are still going from the date beside their names too!! Let us know how you k??

k8ly: way to go picking better choices eating out!

pinthin: Oh darn, I'm sorry you went up a pound. I'm sure it's not a true fat pound, so it should come off soon. Please do not feel doomed. This is the point where a lot of people decide, oh well, I've gained I'm gonna eat like crap. But dont' do this!! You're doing sooo well, eating & exercising, your body will release it, trust me!!! keep it up!! Are you close to your goal??

pharmspice: ya, it's weird how cals in vs cals out can work like mathematics for some bodies but others have to be more tricky. You have a great attitude girl!!! Keep on goin!!!

pab50- oh what a great time to start being accountable to a bunch of people, right at the beginning! You can do this, we all can!!! Have fun with your new lifestlye!!!

Everyone else, hang in there, the weekend is 1/2 over after today!!! Let's do a clean one!!!!

Dee
k8ly - that dinner sounds so good!!

We're off to a good start today.  I made us banana-blueberry pancakes for breakfast (skipped the maple syrup though) with a morningstar veggie patty and some green tea.  My husband is taking me to a baseball game this afternoon and we're not supposed to bring outside food, but I'm going to sneak in a pbj and some dried apricots ... I mean, if all they have to offer is hot dogs and nachos (and beer), I'm not going to feel guilty about refusing to eat their garbage ... with some leftover chili for dinner it should turn out to be another good day!

deejlb - I'm maintaining at a range of 147-151.  Yesterday I weighed in at 149, so that was perfect!  C-C says I can do 2000 calories a day but that makes me a little nervous, so I'm aiming for 1800 plus any exercise calories.  My other goals are to stay below 30% fat and get at least 40g of fiber a day.  So far, so good!  Eating healthy feels great!

*edit* deejlb, congrats on your weight loss!  Wow, that's such a great accomplishment and it's awesome you're inspiring so many other people.  See, it can be done!!
