I found Slim  in  6  to be great for toning, it is not dreadfully hard to do. I did the 6 weeks and found my self toned!  I looked great, I did the Slim and Six pack daily too which made my abs look decent.  I have not done this in about 2 years now but would love to start it again, that is if i can get my girls to nap at the same time!  Anyone doing it, or about to start it?  I am ready for the 6 week challenge.  I am eager to start but fear not following through... I know it works!  I have seen results firsthand!  I need a buddy!

I was pretty skeptical over the vitamin supplements they kept pushing when I was ordering it-are they really necessary?  The price was incredibly steep and I just kind of had a weird feeling about ordering that stuff.  Just curious if they really are helpful?

Thanks alydaven for the support as well!  I am keeping an eye out for that UPS truck to roll up here any day now!
jamie... i did not use any of their products other than the DVDs  i even bought my resistance bands at Kmart...  i was breastfeeding when I first used this program so I wasnt about to use anything other than a multi vit for lactating moms...  I got results nonetheless...  be smart about what you eat, take a multi vitamin and drink lots of water and you will be well  on your way!
Hey all, just finished my RIU for the night... had to get in in before American Idol, lol. I don't really watch the show itself, but I LOVE the auditions... some of those cats are BANANAS!

jamie... when I ordered SI6 a couple of years ago and did the program, I ordered the supplements too. Results were definitely FAST, but I agree that they are too darn expensive. I agree with Aly.... take a multivitamin instead. And Aly... you are really tearing it up, girl!

3 days 'til BIU..... yay! I love the half jacks and kicks :)
ladies! i did not get my si6 in today. it was such a busy day and we did not get home until 10:00 pm and i am just too tired! i am going to do it in the am as soon as the baby goves me a free hour. maybe i should do the abs too since i missed today? it was not supposed to be my day off yet!

everyone is doing great! keep it up. my jeans are falling off my waist, no joke! now if only my breasts would shrink i would be in heaven.
renoodle - I cant mix cardio with BIU myself. At least not in the beginning. Today, I find that BIU is not as challenging as it used to, so I most likely will add cardio session after/before it. Maybe I been doing it too long, I feel I am getting used to it. So I will mix in a new routine soon.
hi guys. feeling tired tonight, and haven't done any si6 today. already did treadclimber at work.

okay no more wasting time. i'll check in when i'm done!

here i go... (bah... grumble).
:D
i did my si6 today. i was feeling pretty guilty about skipping it yesterday. i usually wear shorts and a tank top, but today i wore pants and sleeves and it upped the calorie count with my heart monitor, maybe because i was working up such a sweat! good to be back!

Got my SI6 today!!!  Did the Start it Up with my kids tonight!  It was quite a sight seeing my three girls and I all exercising, but they have really embraced and encouraged my new lifestyle and it was quite fun!

Now on for the questions! :

1)  What does the 2 day fast consist of?  Is it literally just juice/water for two days and no solid food?

2)  Do I still do the treadmill/cardio daily like I have been or do I just focus on the DVDs for the next six weeks?

3)  Do  I do any of the "Slim and Limber" type stuff on the DVDs right now, or just do the 3 sequences of the SIU, RIU and BIU?

My nieces birthday is March 14th and 6 weeks from today is march 15th!  So I am looking at her birthday as my goal to be completed!

I know I need to take before pictures, but I am just embarrassed.  I don't want my husband to take them, but I don't know if my 5 yr old can really take pictures that well.  I am one of the rare ones who doesn't own a digital camera, so I am going to have to find a new place to get this roll developed! Ha Ha!!  Normally I bring them to WalMart, but I know all the people that work there and I don't want them seeing me in a sports bra and shorts for these pictures!!

I am really looking forward to getting to know you gals and guys as I progress through these next six weeks!  It was solely because of this site that I ordered it!!  :)
ok. typing from floor. did it. whew!

awesome you got your set, jamie. you're gonna have a ton of fun. i have no idea about the fasting/supplement use, as i just use the discs for the exercises. i took a foods and nutrition course at uni last summer, and my prof wasn't big on supplements. she says you get more than enough from eating the right amounts for your body size and age from the four food groups (supplements are very expensive). the only thing recommended is calcium if you are a female into your late 50s. the supplements are really if you aren't eating enough to get all of your vitamins and minerals. remember, vitamins and minerals have no calories and therefore don't contain any energy. healthy carbs keep your brain functioning, and you need protein for your regenerating muscles (don't want to rely on protein for daily functioning). the healthy fats are also needed for helping your body to keep lubricated, warm, and to transfer the nutrients (and vitamins and minerals) to all the different parts of your body.

whoa, sorry, didn't mean to lecture, but i'm good like that! i'm also totally into the "why we eat what we eat" part of nutrition, which only makes your body look good inside and out.

the schedule is a good template, but if you aren't up to the fasting and so on, you will still show great results and have fun getting there!
Ren :D
Good Job renoodle! :D

Welcome jamie! you dont have to really follow the calendar and fasting etc. It's your call. I didn't I know some of us didn't either. I use SI6 as part of my variations routine so I don't do it every day back to back. It will still give you result, but I suggest if you want to take a rest no more than 1 day-off.

Other than that, it is important to do it at your own pace, push it a little to uppen your fitness level but don't injure yourself. Have fun! :D
Ok, this may sound weird, but I am going to go back doing RIU plus cardio/gym session for a week. Just to change the pace a little from BIU. That is my plan for the coming week.
Not weird at all! Good plan, sweet_tart. I was thinking that when I'm bored of BIU, I'll mix two at-home workouts, RIU and the Gazelle, or RIU and one of my other videos (usually the others are only 25mins, so I'd still be doing just over an hour of aerobic activity).

Still doing the gym on weekdays as well. The weekends are my "days off" when I'll only do RIU now. Funny, I'm actually using exercise as my treat for finishing other tasks, laundry, dishes, homework. Ha!

:D
Well, just finished my RIU for today. I usually do the RIU and the bonus abs routine (to be around 60 min of exercise per day). Today, I don't know why, it was pretty difficult for me to finish the abs... I did it, but Debbie wasn't my friend any more, I can tell you! I think I'll get to BIU tomorrow, just to have a reason to skip the abs. LOL

It's good to see new names here. Welcome!

Jamie: I did not take into consideration their calendar. I'm just planning my meals in advance and make sure I have all types of food in there; I try not to exceed 1300 cals and to receive an A grade in the analysis performed by CC. That's it. Not fasting. I would certanly not be up to it. And surely no suplements. Lots of fruits and vegetables, though. Have fun!
hi Ladies... Good Morning!  I hate to tell you that I did not do my SI6 on Thursday.  Zoe had ice skating in the morning and then I went home made the girls lunch and for some odd reason I was compelled to wash all the windows on my first floor.  11 in total, inside and out, and I vacuumed the living room furniture.  It took forever to complete... I should have just done my DVD!  I think I just needed a clearer outlook on life.. hence washing the windows...  No excuses for today.  I am tired (worked last night) but I intend to get it started quite soon.  My weight is 144.5, start weight on Jan 7th was 150.  Not drastic number changes but my body shows results.   Hubby and I have a dinner to go to tonight, have to watch what I eat... that is going to be challenging.
okay i am back to report that i did do my RIU for today!  6 Pack too.
aly - woman, you gonna have ripped abs for sure! :)

Thanks so much for the replies and encouragement!  I am definitely feeling the burn in my thighs today, but I am going to start the RIU tonight.  I got the moves very easily tomorrow and just want to jump into this!

I am glad that I have 5 weeks of continous exercise under my belt.  I don't think I could've just started this "cold"-I think I would have been in agony today after my first workout!
Tonight I just did RIU plus cardio (only 15min though coz the gym was closing at 8pm...) Felt so good! :D
Well, I just did my BIU today. The first one. It was kind of funny. I started with the BIU and after 30 minutes someone came to visit us. So I had to stop. When that person left, I started BIU all over again. I have to admit, I did not do 100% all of the exercises from the first half of BIU, but 70% of them I really did them twice. Especially the waist related ones. Hm...It wasn't easy at all!

But now I have to go to a family reunin (18.00 until morning) with lots of foods- (nothing healthy, I'm sure) and plenty to drink. I really need to take my willpower with me. LOL. Lucky for me dancing is involved, so I'll dance an hour and eat 200 cals and so forth...to keep it balanced..LOL.
woo hoo monix! ^_^b Good job! Enjoy the food & dance the night away!
