150's group...daily updates
Bummer...can't work out like usual this morning...have to drop off a car at the shop with my husband and then have committments at my son's schools...
I hate getting off my routine...glad we have an elliptical...going to have to get on it tonight after the boy's hockey.
Goal today is to stick with 1200-1300 calories in case the workout doesn't happen....
Of course I woke up starving...going for the protien bar or the oatmeal...can't decide.

Thanks Heather...needed that. Read it last night before I was about to drink a glass of wine. Went upstairs to bed instead so I could get up and do a 6am jazzercise this morning.
I am psyched to have the whole day at home today with no running around to do. Thought I was going to be in the house by myself. Never fails, whenever I think I'll be all alone my husband decides to work from home. Oh well...
I am not showering yet because I'm going to do a little more abs and maybe a little ddr.
Goals for today...
1. water, water and some more water
2. be good like yesterday eating more of the right things..less junk
3. chant the mantra of the day...I"m active, I'm attractive, I'm in demand!

Goodmorning everyone! I lost 3 more ounces! I didin't exercise yesterday but, I was really tired and I think your supposed to take 1-2 days off a week from exercising to avoid starvation mode. I'm hoping to weigh 155 by tomorrow.

156.8 this morning on the scales. Didn't budge for about a week and then suddenly 1.2 pounds comes off all at once! I like days like today.
I'm off on a business trip for 3 weeks in mississippi and I'm dreading the fried food. I love that stuff and I don't know if I have the self control to say "no".

philippajane- while on your trip think about all the hard work you've done to loose weight and how quickly it will be erased if you eat fried food. try to order grilled chicken/fish, eat fruits and veggis.....and hit the gym!
I'm slightly frustrated today... and I know i shouldn't be. I gained
two pounds back up to 159, and I have done nothing different AT ALL.
I'm sure it's just normal flucuation and blah blah blah, it's still
frustrating. Sigh... sorry for the vent. I'm doing what is right for my
body and I'm feeling great about myself becuase I know that I'm doing
what's right. I guess that's all that really matters.
I can't wait till I'm in the 140's again!!!!!! I'm feeling very impatient today. I wish I had tons of money and could just get all this yucky fat sucked out of me.

Hey everyone - Happy Tuesday (at least its not Monday!)
I am glad that my post yeserday helped encourage some of you. I love that we are all here to support each other, even though we dont really know each other... ;) I dont get much support anywhere else so its nice to know there is somewhere I can get it.
I am going through some tough times lately, which is why I was sad a lot last week and feeling down. I am trying to still stay in control of my weight loss and exercise. I know exercise keeps my mind alert and really does make me feel better overall. (Just need to keep reminding myself that when the comfy couch is calling to me!) I totally blew ALL my goals yesterday so I am feeling like a bit of a loser today. But it is a new day, and I can start fresh (I love that!)
I weighed in at 148.6 again this morning (despite the binge last night) which is now 5 days of being around that weight... so I think I will move to the 140s group. I still want check in here and just see how you are all doing. I know I will see you all soon in the next group - it sounds like you are all well on your way!!

Ltlmsmfft- i have those days as well. i wake up and say i wish i had more money so i can just have someon do it for me. I found that its more satisfying to myself though knowing that i can do it myself.. so keep up the good job. u have come this far.
djrizzo- congrats on giving up the coffee.. i cant do it.. i have one in the morning and drink water for the day.. i have gotten into such a habit of drinking water that i have started freakin out when there is none in the fridge because soda and juice dont taste the same anymore...
ladies.. i see that we are all in a battle with the scale... i decided to take my scale out to the car and put it in the trunk along with the measuring tape and anything else i can measure myself wit. if i saw the scale i would step on it so if its not there then im not going out in the cold to go get it. yesterday i Ran my 1 1.5 miles and feel great. I did this abs program on FITTV that has me hurting this morning so hopefully when my SI6 gets here it will give me the same effect... feeling optimistic about today.

ltlmsmfft - yay on the loss :) i'm not sure if exercising everyday puts your body into starvation mode,as long as you are eating the calories to cover the deficit, but i do know you are suppose to rest your muscles so they have time to rebuild, etc... i probably need to take a day off from it myself...oh and i definitely wish i had tons of money to just go and get it all sucked away lol..

waterphoenix - is your trend line still going downward?? if so you are doing fine.. and ltmsmfft/heather are right, those measurements dont lie...
Heather - today is a new day :) and yay on leaving us to join the 140's group :) congrats :) but please keep checking in, you are an inspiration to us all... and i cant wait to join you :) gonna watch my trend line though, and make sure IT is in the 140s too lol.. that way i dont have to worry about that fluctuation :)
messam - wow in the trunk lol.. thats even more out of sight then under the bed lol... i am wondering if theres an on-demand abs program on our cable.. may have to check it out, see if i can do it :)
gonna keep doing most things the way i have the last couple of days... working on drinking all that water, figuring out what i am going to eat all day first thing in the morning... do some form of exercise... today is taebo...

I'm sooooo hungry. I've been fighting the urge to eat because then I wont want to eat my lunch and anything I grap for now is not so healthy. Truthfully we have a candy drawer at work and I've eaten 4 starbursts. Strangely enough it's done nothing to ward off the hunger. This is my own fault for waking up too late and skipping breakfast. Grrr. I will be sure to have a yummy breakfast tomorrow :)
awww ltlmsmfft.. :( those 4 starbursts probably increased your hunger because of the sugar in them :( why not eat your lunch early?? you did skip breakfast (eat a good one tomorrow)... maybe eat half your lunch now and then the other half later??
unicat- i broke down and had lunch early....it was that or gnaw my arm off! I had a lean cusine thai chicken, not very good. I will not be buying that one again. I ate most of it then got a bag of baked lays from the machine. Only 2 grams of fat in them and they helped fill me up :)
Good :) its definitely got to be better then not eating breakfast AND eating stuff thats not good for you :) i dont know what time you ate lunch, but maybe a decent snack when you can between your early lunch and dinner??

Well I was wondering just how bad alchohol is when you are trying to loose weight and was suprised by just how bad it is!
According to conventional wisdom, the infamous "beer belly" is caused by excess alcohol calories being stored as fat. Yet, less than five percent of the alcohol calories you drink are turned into fat. Rather, the main effect of alcohol is to reduce the amount of fat your body burns for energy.
Some evidence for this comes from research carried in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition [4]. Eight men were given two drinks of vodka and sugar-free lemonade separated by 30 minutes. Each drink contained just under 90 calories. Fat metabolism was measured before and after consumption of the drink. For several hours after drinking the vodka, whole body lipid oxidation (a measure of how much fat your body is burning) dropped by a massive 73%.
Rather than getting stored as fat, the main fate of alcohol is conversion into a substance called acetate. In fact, blood levels of acetate after drinking the vodka were 2.5 times higher than normal. And it appears this sharp rise in acetate puts the brakes on fat loss.
So, to summarize and review, here's what happens to fat metabolism after the odd drink or two.

The effect of alcohol on testosterone could be one reason that people who drink a lot carry less muscle. In fact, a 1993 study shows that alcoholic men have bigger waists and smaller muscles than teetotalers [2].

Hmm I think I got a couple of signs from God this week.....
On Mon. I left a post about having to get a new outfit as THE ONLY PAIR OF JEANS I had that fit got some holes in "crucial" areas. Now this happend on Friday.
I just left the ladies room and as I pulled up the zipper on my only pair of work pants (insert dramatic music- dum dum dum dummmm) it broke!!!!! Now granted I have lost 11.7 lbs and my pants went from painted on to loose but, I totally could have worn them for another 5-10 lbs! So now I have my dilema. I'm broke right now and just do not have the $$$ to buy new pants, not even thrift store pants so, I guess I'm going to have to pin them shut for the next couple of weeks. I do have another pair of pants that I can wear once i get to about 147 but till then.....
Maybe God is trying to tell me- hey you're not going to be the overweight girl anymone!!!! He's helping me get rid of the few fat clothes I have.

Just finished dinner..shouldn't have eaten the second helping of rice, but it was yummy. Ate a bite of carrot cake and then made my son spray windex on the rest of it and throw it out. No one was eating it but me.
Over in calories today but since I'm losing slow maybe this will shake it up a bit. I'll be at 1775 if i drink that glass of wine. Still not sure if I'll do it. I haven't had any since Saturday. That's good considering I typically have one glass every evening.

Just got back from grad class--and I am starving!!! I'm gonna have a can of tuna-- I haven't eaten enough anywho
I have hidden my scale under my bed so I don't see it every time I enter my room--takes the edge off my obsession with it. I am going to measure myself though--I have never done that--I usually go by the way my clothes fit. It will be great fun to see my big butt disappear! lol! ltlmsmfft-sorry about your pants honey! Maybe tomorrow you will get rewarded with a new pair of pants (hey, it could happen!) Pin them up in the mean time and wear a long shirt--no one will know--I've done this before after I had some minor surgery.
