CLOSED GROUP Short girls (5'4" and under) with a significant amount of weight to lose! (40+)

Hey everyone,

I'm 5'0" and I currently weigh 175. I know there is another short girls thread, but most of them seem to already weigh 120.

So anyway, I need some big time motivation. Weekly weigh ins, advice, encouragement, etc....and I'm betting that some of you out there could do the same.

So how about it?

Alright so I had a pretty good week minus two days  where I went to the fair, and then stayed at my moms but I still manage to keep active, and eat less the rest of the week so this is my loss:

Last Week: 204lb

This Week: 199lb !

Yeah under 200 was my first goal. I am so inspired reading about everyones hard work. Thank you all so much for putting together this form together and I hope you all have a good week.

Okay ya'll I went to the doctor yesterday for blood results on my recent, rapid weight gain. He put me on an 800 CAL diet for 90 days. Today is my second day. Dry toast is well dry. I found some sugar free jam (10 cals) that is pretty good. Of course my grandmother's southern, homemade canned doesnt compare!

I am so sick of hearing "You are so short that you have no where for fat to go."

I know this!!! It would be nice to be able to grow at age 30!

Yikes, 800 calories is nothing! But I suppose if your doctor recommended it, they know best.

Good luck to you, we'll do our best to support you!

I'm a little late this week!

Last week: 192 lbs

This week: 194 lbs

I've gone up two lbs sadly.  I'm hoping it's only a crazy flux because it's my 'time'.  I've got horrible eating habits the whole week because of it, so I'll try my hardest to get back on track for next weigh in!

I am on this site all day long.  Doing my eat & burn meter and also reading & posting at the message boards.   I think in order to address this weight issue seriously it has to be a sort of obsession.   Otherwise we would lose focus too easily.  I don't care I am staying focused until I am at my 135 goal.  I hope we are all still hanging in there together.

So I went a little crazy today haha. Definitely blew my goal of 1500 calories, but managed to stay under 2000.

The amazing thing is, I don't feel like crap! I used to make myself feel SO awful when I knew I ate too much. I guess today I felt like I've earned it to enjoy food that I love. I had SO much energy I was driving my boyfriend insane (also because he was dead tired from working his first night shift at a new job).

Also, I think it was a bit of a rebound from yesterday. I didn't eat enough through the day yesterday, and managed to get myself up to 1400 cals just before going to bed. I was tired and cranky and listless all day.

All in all, I went over my calories, but I still feel like I'm on track. :) That's my blurb.

Hello,

I'm 4'11 trying to lose about 40 pounds.  I've been on cc for three weeks, but I havent lost any weight, I have though lost inches.

What should I care more for?  I'm happy because some of my clothes fit better and some that had not used for a while, I can wear now.  What else should I be doing?

Love this site.   Thanks.

I'm with whoever said that cc has become an addiction. I am constantly looking up foods and inputting my recipes, then "tweaking" them. Love this site!

Way to go all!

lynners - awesome!

mrsmao - great job!

new_2_me - good numbers!

jesusgirl1 - keep it going and congrats! Wink on law school.

krilia - naughty, naughty - but don't beat yourself up over it. At least it was breakfast and you can compensate the rest of the day. What I hate is the late night piece of chocolate or ice cream jones. Occasionally I give into it . I guess I feel that if I don't splurge every once in a (great) while, I might make bad choices more often.

Did that make sense? Yeah, I guess I better get off here and go to bed!

I've done well today...when I needed to buy a pick me up snack when I was on campus I bought fruit instead of the million other terrible choices I could have made. I'm absolutely ravenous now, but I'm waiting until my boyfriend comes home to see what the plan is. We're heading home to his parents place for the weekend.

I usually binge on Triscuit crackers when I'm at they're place. I won't let myself buy them, and his mom usually has like 3 boxes that she never touches! I usually finish off a box when I'm there. So...goal for this weekend? Not binging on Triscuits!

Happy weekend everyone!

Well, I can't say I did wonderful today.   We went out of town to my in-laws and she bought hoagie sandwiches from the local grocery store for lunch.  Then for supper we went to Wendy's and I had a spicy chicken sandwich.  Later, we had chocolate cake for my father-in-law's B-day.  I ate only 1 piece of cake.   But, I did drink alot of water today so I'm hoping this won't set me back too far.  We were helping them with a garage sale and I'm sure I sweat alot of fluid out. Tongue out  I hope everyone has a great weekend.  I'll get back on track tomorrow.

Quick question for you pro's out there =)

When you look at the analysis for the day it lists Fat, Protein, Carbs, Alcohol, Other. What is a good % breakdown to target for these? I'm particularly interested in Fat, Protein and Carbs as the others are almost always 0.

Also, what is the ideal sodium, sugar, and fiber intakes?

Thanks in advance - just trying to figure this all out =)

There are different proportions for different circumstances... I read about it somewhere, but I don't remember which situations call for which proportions.  Low carb situations can go down to 20% carbs, while regular eaters keep carbs at 50%.  You are going to have to know what you want first.  Hope this makes sense enough to get you started learning.

I had a good feeling last night that I would see a new all-time low number on the scale when my bed time weight was 176.4.  Over night I usually see at least a 2 pound difference, so I was crossing my fingers for 173.9 to peek at me.  Imagine the shock of delight that appeared on my face when I saw 173 right on the nose peeking up at me...  It was a very exciting feeling, of course that was before I had the quick thought of "well 1/10 of a pound more and it would have been 172!"  LMAO.... I am a woman 100%... I get what I want and then realize there is more to be had!  ROF.....  Honestly I am thrilled at the number today and now I am on the daily watch for 172.  Perhaps I will see it by Wednesday, or could I actually reach 171!!!  OMG chastise this women for her wicked tongue & thoughts!

Haha halizabeth, your last sentence made me giggle.

new 2 me - I think for fibre it's recommended to have 25 g or more per day...and that's pretty much all I know. Try making a thread in one of the other forums (I think there's a health and nutrition one?), you'll likely get a better answer there. :)

Thanks guys! I got some info from a suggested site. =) I appreciate the info!

Hi everyone!  I just have to say how grateful I am for this group.  I'm on CC everyday, too, and it really gives me a boost to check in and read the posts here.

My weekend has been so-so.  I've logged every bite and haven't gone over the burn meter, but I came too close for comfort Saturday.  Weekends are so hard!

My recent "triumph" was going to the grocery store and coming out with all healthy choices and lots of fresh veggies, and for the first time in a LONG time my stuffed-to-the-gills grocery cart was less than $100!  It seems like I'm finally learning some tricks of healthy eating and grocery buying.  I got home with my lovely produce and made little packets of salads and ready-to-cook veggie assortments for the week, counted up the calories in each one, and went ahead and tagged them. I think I'll make a veggie minestrone this afternoon and freeze the portions for nights I don't want to cook.

It looks like I've finally made it to an even 184!  I've been 184.0 since Thursday.  I am downright ecstatic to think I might have broken the 185 mark for good.  I've been thinking hard about it, and I think it's time for a treat.  So I'm off to look for one pretty new top today, fitting room mirrors be darned!  Laughing

Good for you beckabooey!

I like your idea of packeting everything into serving sizes as soon as you buy it. I might try the same, if I can find the room in my fridge/freezer! - I live with 3 other girls, so our fridge and freezer are jam packed full.

I am 4'11 and weigh 166. I gained 21 in about 6 months. I got divorced last year and finally getting through it. It is still hard. Anyway, I try...I know I can do this. I am 33 years old and just want to be healthy.

One of the hard things is that I have a bf who is overweight. Has been her entire life and she wants to loseweight, but puts no effort in to it at all. Maybe some but not enough. So, when we get together we will binge, we'll order out like chinese or pizza and get dessert that is not the healthies. She worries me the most. I know I am bad when I binge but she'll drink an a whole liter of diet soda and some more diet soda. That's all she drinks. I just can't believe it. It just shocks me. She will eat a pint of ice cream in one sitting.  She's a diabetic and has tons of health prob.

I feel blessed I have no health problems. I can control it, and really feel the Juice Plus I have been taking has done amazing things for my body. I hope that if I lose weight maybe it will motivate her. But, it's all about making life changes. I have to do this for myself. I want to live a long life, meet someone new to share my life with....etc...... this is a good idea to share with us short women.

Hi butterfly,  I know what you mean about having somebody close to you that could do better for their health.  My mom loves to do the bad eating thing and when we go together to eat she orders things that I don't want to share with her.  It use to be hard to resist but it is easy now because I realize that even though she isn't ready to change I AM.  She orders french fries and I don't touch one.  She likes to get dessert, and we used to share one, but now she says she wants her own.  If I want a dessert I still only eat half of mine.  I realize that either I have to be strong or I won't be able to be with her...lol.. it actually helps me be stronger.  I hope she eventually joins me in eating healther, but if she doesn't, I won't let it get in my way.

Welcome to the group!

Went to visit friends/fam and was completely off diet from Thursday-Sunday. I wasn't SO bad. But, every day, I had something that I shouldn't have had. I had white bread for the first time in months! But, I'm back on today! I've gained weight since Wednesday. But, I'm almost positive is carb bloat/water retention. So, I'll say my weight is still 261! I've been trying to get into the 250 for a while now! But, I'll get there eventually!

Hope everyone is starting their week off positively!!
