Hey lynn thats the good thing about southbeach your always full. Nuts are a good way to fill in the holes if your short on cals. I stay away from them most of the time cause I can eat a whole can.
Im at 158.5 and doing a happy dance around the house. Im almost back to previous weight. |

Look who's below 160! ::joins Sarah in happy dance:: Lynn, in addition to nuts, getting those daily bean servings and including allowed oils/fats helps too. With the dramatic carb reduction, I also found too high cal replaced with too low cal until I focused on how to get them in.
Late night, late morn but clinic bound which now always means visit to mom but having a positive feel for the scale this week and a bit of pressure - early month, this should be a loss. |

Yes, welcome starlit - hope your off to a great phase1! I came home for a quickie omelet after happy weigh in - 294.9. Eventhough I crossed 300 last week, it was 1.2 lbs so had high hopes and not disappointed. You probably are Rachael and youve a great track record for turning around any gains from you fun time with visits so thinking you should be comfortable enjoying your company. Visited Mom and have always said what a saint my sister is with her. Its been a laundry list of complaints since she arrived but most concerning was encouraging her show apprectiation (please, thank you) to balance out the steady negativity in hopes to avoid getting off on the wrong foot. The ONLY positive thing she's said is that the nurses were nice. Today I got a complaint about them and told her she cant expect them to be nice to her when she isnt to them. Do their jobs yes but once in a while from her, a positive thing, a smile even is needed. I feel she can turn this around if she will put in effort but if she wont, I wont be an ear for complaints about the staff. My sis has saint's patience - Ive spoken up to mom before but firmly today because she is only hurting herself. Definitely a chilly visit as Im already burning out. Hopefully a lesson I'll remember in my old age. |

Glad to get your info brittany and include you on our Thursdays. We've stuck together for almost a year now so yeah, first name basis. Is the headache something youve heard about SB or something you deal with dieting as I'd not heard of it with SB before.
Quick reference - GETFIT- Sarah OHIO- Rachael ENTERS- Gina VELVET- (velvet?) KRISTIN- Kristen :D CLB- Lynn This will help short term memory me too on our newer folks. Boy did I drop a rant above on my mom (and barely over a month here). Just an adjustment for me, been fighting the lack of anything positive for a while and never had patience with those who dont have some appreciation as we all have baggage. An occasional pity party, I have them too but when it becomes a lifestyle and nothing good can be appreciated - yeesh! Think its time to stop my own pity party :P. |

Hey guys boy have Ive been really really busy... did I mention really busy LOL. lots of company plus a bday party as excited as I am Im going to be exhausted on monday. Forgot cake flour at the store so I have to go back again(ive been there three times today) Did pick up some fireworks(small ones) so they should be fun tomorrow. So busy I hardly ate today!
Welcome brittany and Im sorry to hear about that headache. Are you able to take your bloodsugar. Eat some of the allowed stuff thats on the upper level of the glycemic index(tomatoes have a little more sugar than lets say broccoli). If the headache is not from low blood sugar try drinking a crystal light or water with lemon or lime juice(there the only fruit allowed in phase one). Did you cut out all caffeine? I couldn't do it. I had a headache from hell within three hours after I woke up. Rachel you always get back to working really hard after your holidays so enjoy yourself.... you deserve it! Enjoy your company and have fun! Jayne its understandable that your mother is unhappy being in a new place. Hoping that it gets better for her...that will help you a lot to. |

Good morning everyone. Im up early and trying figure out an eating schedule. thinking about spacing breakfast out over the next few hours. Ive already been to the store and its so much nicer when its not crowded. stockers were in the way though and gave me lots of dirty looks for disterbing them.
WARNING CAKE TALK AHEAD!!!! Got the cake baked and my house smells so good. the cake kind of turns me off with its bright red color though. looks really fake even though its baked from scratch. It turn out good even with the electricity going off half way through the baking process for a few minutes. I thought it would fall. HAPPY 4th OF JULY!!!! I cant wait for the fireworks!!! I just love seeing things blow up!!! |

I'd forgotten it was 4th of July til seeing your post Sarah, even though I heard fireworks last night. I thought the same thing when I first saw Red velvet - looks unappealing but that icing ....
I know the stocker thing - I always do my shopping (walking) late night and that some of the Walmart cashiers of the shift now recognize me. Ive always been a crowd avoider - a reason I avoid the fireworks. Got some ebay buyer bids - cash is minimal as small ticket items but its a lot of fun watching. I enjoy creating the ads and its a silly thrill when an item is bid on. The convenience of just listing items and watching them carry through - almost feels like a game. |

Bet you feel better having tried out the cheese before company arrived - better to know before serving it. Maybe why I tend to stick so much with what I know already although Ive opened up to some items Ive steadily seen get raves in the Food Forum like Laughing Cow.
A Spock/Nimoy fan Ive interacted with online decided to go the Trek convention Sunday, 8/10 so we will be meeting up. Since we share the same fandom of him (a bit excessive) looking forward to sharing the experience with someone who 'gets it' instead of my prior solo plan. |

Im so lucky that I dont have to drive anywhere to see the fireworks display. Its on the other side of the highway from my house so we all just sit out front and relax and it doesnt kill our knecks. the cake has come together nicely and all thats left is the transformers logo that I made to put on top. I hope my son likes it LOL! Family is here and everybody is taking a nap.
Oh jayne I finally thought of a star I would like to meet. I would love to meet Richard Dean Anderson. I think hes better looking now than when he younger. |

Happy 4th of July!!! Didn't get a chance to post yesterday (I weighed, but was at my bf's house and didn't like his scale!) Weighed at home today on my normal scale, and it was 138.5 (1.5 down!) Makes me feel happy! But I did break some rules at the BBQ today!! As a gift to myself I purchased a personal training package. My trainer kicked my booty yesterday (literally) and I am in PAIN today!! But can't complain, its good pain. Welcome Brittany!

Hey! I am on day 4 of the SB diet. I have no clue about my weight. I have no scale here at home. I will be purchasing one tomorrow. The last time I was on a scale was a few months ago and I weighed 174. Oh and by the way my name is Katie. I happened upon this thread and I am so very thankful. It has not been too bad, but I do love chips and that is kinda killing me. |
