Quote  |  Reply
hey everyone!!

since july 4th is around the corner i would like to be in top shape for swimsuit/bbq season :) i am looking for people with similar goals and stats to share accountability with and also to provide motovation and tips!!

im 23 years old, im about 5'9" and weigh approx 160lbs....my goal is to be in the 145-150 range. i figure losing around 1.5-2 lbs. a week is achievable, and setting a final goal range within 5lbs. will allow more flexability and less room for failure.

anyone else???

morning everyone :)

i worked this weekend so unfortunately my weekend could have been better, BUT i did see the new sex and the city movie!! [i wont give away the ending:)]. i love the fact that the sun is out when i get up in the morning, it makes morning workouts much doable, i really hate gettting up with its still dark out.

susieq thats a great accomplishment!! all ur hard work is really paying off.

i plan on visiting some friends from college this weekend, so i really want to stay on point this week. we have a black and white party to go to on friday...i plan on wearing a white suit with a black shirt, fishnets, heals topped with a red purse. i really wanna look HOTT this weekend!

todays plan:
B-fiber one cereal with 2% milk and a banana
L-minestrone soup with yogart
S-apple/peas and carrots
D: grilled chicken with plenty of veggies

workout:
2 mile run, 30 min ellipical, 30 min weights

have a fabulous day everyone :)

Morning everyone! Krenren77 that outfit that you are wearing to the black and white party on friday sounds HOT. I am sure you will look great.

My weekend was alright, Saturday my boyfriend and I walked the Lake (which was 6 miles) and then we spent 3 hours cleaning the house. I really got a lot of exercise Saturday. Sunday I did no exercise, but I am back on schedule today.

We were talking about drinks with low calories last week, and I found another one this weekend. We got together with some friends on Saturday night and my boyfriend found that Vodka and Crystal Light was a great low calorie drink. He made it with Strawberry Banana Orange Crystal Light ...it tasted great!!! Very fruity and couldn't even taste the alochol. Just wanted to share...

My menu plan today:

B: Whole wheat toast, egg whites, salsa and turkey ham

S: Nectarine and Triscuits

L: Tamale Pie

S: Cucumbers

D: Chicken Breast with steamed veggies

30 mins ellipitcal, 30 mins weights and after work walking 3 miles.

Omg!!! Great idea on the drink desirees! I'm such a crystal light freak I can't believe I didn't think of that one.  Do you pour a packet just into the vodka or do you use a certain amount of water with crystal light and the vodka?

I had a rough weekend.  I'm VERY sick:( Went to the minute-clinic this morning and found out it's surprisingly an ear infection-it's actually supposed to last a few more days even w/ the antiobiotics URGHhhhh.  But my fever has died down which is good.  Exercise is basically rolling out of my bed to replace the tissue box lol.  I think you're supposed to stay really hydrated but I've never wanted water less in my entire life b/c my throat hurts SO bad.  so yea. I feel really off track with this but hey-this is def a shake up in my normal routine!:/

wow vodka and crystal light! i completely forgot about that drink...we used to make that in college and call it super sneakies, since you could bearly taste the vodka in this mix! thanks for the reminder desirees! :)

hope you feel better chomp!! your body def needs more rest than exercise now. take it easy and try to catch up on talk shows and soaps ;)

We put one packet of crystal light in a pitcher, mix with 1 cup vodka and the rest water. It was great, because you could barley taste the alochol and it wasn't horrible in calories.

I hope you feel better chomp. Ear infections are the worst!

morning everyone.

i dont know what it is, but lately i've been having the hardest time getting out of bed in the morning. and all day, my body feels so achy. i was thinking maybe i was overdueing my workouts but now i just think im probably fighting off a cold. blah!

anyways, i hope everyones week is going well... today i weighted myself and im down to 150!! 10 lbs gone since starting :)

todays plan:
B: english muffin, cottege cheese doubles
S: apple
L: smart ones
S: carrots
D: soup and a salad

workout: taking the day off!! i was gonna walk on my lunch break but i have an interview with a recruiter for a position in the navy as a nurse.

have a fabulous day!!! and good luck :)

Get to feeling better soon Chompforchange and take it easy until you to feel better. Colds and especially ear infections just beat you down, don't they?

Well I hope that you are not getting sick kreren77. That is one of the worst things to happen to throw you off track for a couple of days. But if you do I hope you get over it fast and stay on track.

I have had a hard time getting out of bed too only b/c my 2 year old is refusing to go to bed at an early hour. But I am working through it.

This is my plan today:

B: Apple and coffee

L: Veggie Sandwich

D: Home made spagetti with small amount of noodles

S: Raw green beans, mushrooms, and alfalfa sprouts

Exercise: 30 minute circuit training, 60 minute cardio

awww thanks for all the get well wishes you guys!  Well, I can't say I feel 100 % (it's been going for a friggin week!) but the flu symptoms are gone so I'm still really taking it easy and taking lots of the basic cold syrups to get rid of the sinus stuff.  And based on what I've heard it's really going around! I hope you feel better krenren!  There's people all over the site saying they're feeling under the weather! wierd huh?

Diet has been pretty minimal food choice and probably calorie wise, but I haven't really moved much either. Kinda bummed b/c I know it will be hard to get well physically too.  I'm feeling well enough to walk today though so I'm going to later.  Plan today(all hot foods!):

B: Oatmeal and greek yogurt

s: coffee w/ soy

L: vegetable soup w/ ww toast

s: goldfish and latte

D: baked sweet potato and grilled chicken

hey all...

if you noticed, i usually respond on here first thing in the morning. well, i just woke up...like i said i've been feeling under the weather so i took the day off. chomp, maybe our wall posts are too close to eachother....i think thats how i got this cold ;)

todays (bland) diet:

B: chicken noodle soup, english muffin
L: grilled cheese and chicken noodle soup
D: parogies and vegtable soup
S: oranges and bananas

i think im gonna get out of the house tonight to see the sex and the city movie! im pumped about that. aww tweetria! lol im sure you'll be able to catch up on sleep once your two year old goes off to college ;)
That is great to know krenren77, now I really have something to look forward to ;).

I have some happy news, I have finally pushed past 152 lbs. I am now 151 lbs and losing just that 1 lb makes me feel like I can truly do this. I have been unable to get past it for the last month and that was frustrating me but I have been trying Calorie Shifting. I don't know if it is a healthy way but it worked. I still eat really healthy, I just vary what I eat and how much I eat from day to day.

So here is my plan today:

B:Oatmeal and coffee L:Veggie Sandwich D:Chicken and steamed veggies S:Apple and almonds

Ex: 45 min cardio, 45 min lifting weights, 30 min circuit training.
tweet, thats awesome! congrats on the weight loss :)

i heard that calorie shifting is the way to go, our bodies never need just one set number of calories on a given day. sometimes we need more, sometimes less. did you know that when our bodies are actively fighting off a cold, we burn approx 200 more calories? i thought that was interesting. it just goes to show that sometimes our bodies need calories we couldnt even predict.

heres the plan for the day:
B: kashi go lean and ff milk
L: peas and carrots/turkey sandwhich
D: grilled chicken and veggies
S: yogart, banana, apple with PB

workout:
running 2 miles, cardio machine 40 min, weights 30 min.

Thank you. I did not know that you burn more cals when you have a cold. That is a very interesting fact to know. Thank you again.

Well today is the day I decided to increase my calorie intake according to the Calorie Shifting article that I read so I am going to eat about 1800 since yesturday I only had approx 1500 cals. I actually feel better since I started doing this. My body has responded well to it.

Here is my plan today:

B: Apple, Slice of cheese, coffee, and Milk

L: Veggie sandwich and noodle soup

D: Chicken or Fish with baked beans and veggies

S: Apple and small amount of chocolate(I have been good so I am going to indulge just a little bit)

Exercise(Since I didn't do any last night): 90 min Cardio, 45 min Strength, 30 Stretching

well, my only update is I AM WELL!:D Took a good week on the dot haha but the cleared sinus is definitely enough for me to celebrate!....with a workout class:P  You're feeling better krenren?  I'll update you guys now that my diet will be back to normal, regular temperature people food haha

Hi All!  i am happy to say that as of this morning the scale told me I have lost 16.5 pounds since we started this thing!!!!  I am 194.5 now and just waiting for 189 to come- that's my next goal.  I have to say swimming does it for me- I can swim for hours and hours and never feel tired/pain/hungry- I just love it!

This weekend is my and my youngest's birthday weekend (we're 2 days apart), so I expect that I'll not loose much this week as I will be drinking some tropical drinks with my DH at the beach.  Here's hoping for no weight gain :)

hey speaking of swiming susieq-maybe you can help me...I've been wanting to try swimming for a while to break up my routine.  Thing is, I'm really kinda intimidated a/b jumpin into the pool with all the other lap swimmers.  I would have NO CLUE what I'm doing! Do you guys have any suggestions as to an order of exercises you do in the pool or do people share a lane? haha I have no idea!

morning all!

i am feeling SO much better than i have last week! i had soooo much fun at the party this weekend and everyone noticed that i lost weight. that made me have an even better time! an the white suit went over very well :)

chomp-im so glad ur feeling better as well, i also was looking into swimming now that the weather is really nice, but with my swimming techniques....it is not going to be pretty.

susie- congrats on your weight loss! im sure you are lookin FABULOUS! :) im so envious of your swimming abilities! i can bear put on a bathing suit correctly.

todays plan
B: strawberry and banana smoothie
L: chicken noodle soup with a turkey sandwhich
D: grilled chicken tacos and a salad
S: apple/orange/skinny cow ice cream

its 100 degress in Philly today, so i think im gonna ditch the outdoor running and just stick to the gym today.

workout:
90 cardio/30 weight train (butt, back and legs)

Good morning everybody,

How is everybody doing today? I am doing great even though it is Monday, but I am looking forward to this week at work for some reason. I am glad to hear that you all are feeling much better and congrats on the weight loss-susie.

Swimming does sound like so much fun. I love swimming but I just moved to Great Falls and I don't know where the public pool is, or if there is one at all. Not that I want to be seen in a bathing suit at my current weight but I know that I wont look like this forever.

But anyway here is my plan today:

B: oatmeal and coffee

L: Brussel sprouts & celery chef salad

D: Shrimp, fruit, and steamed veggies

S: apple, celery

Exercise: 90 Min cardio/45 min strength training/30 stretching

Good morining, hope everyone had a nice weekend. I still am going up and down on the scale...kinda frustrating but I am going to stick to it. My daughter and I walked together at the lakes this weekend (she is 5), she was so excited to wear the pedometer to tell us how far we had been walking. So I got out every day and did some kind of exercise. Which the weekends are normally a bad time for me, so I am proud of myself for that. Sunday my daughter and I swam at our pool. While we were playing I was doing some water exercises the length of the pool.

I still feel I could totally do 10 lbs before July 4th, and I am going to!

Here is the plan for today:

B: Whole wheat toast, egg whites and salsa

S: Tuna and whole wheat Crackers

l: chicken breast and pinto beans

S: Cucumbers

D: Chicken Breast, brown rice, green beans

well...I had a little triumph today! I couldn't find my jeans for work so I was expecting to force myself into my pre-college work pants. SURPRISE-they went ON!They're not perfect but I'm def not far! I was in shock b/c it felt like I was stalled for weeks and now suddenly I dropped 5 lbs over night! Maybe that whole sick thing really did do something haha.  Very motivating though. I treated myself to a new hot sports bra which I'm wearing now to go to my dance class....I'll update on my meal plan later.  Stay strong through the day everybody-think a/b the forum when those chips in the pantry are calling your name...:P

haha chomp thats really great! i think you are well on your way to (dare i say) fitting into high school attire :)

today it is 102 degrees here. no running/walking outside for me. i overslept this morning and was a half hour late for work. plus i have class tonight so im gonna have to put working out on the back burner :(

plan:
B: kashi go lean with FF milk and a banana
L: chicken noodle soup with an apple
D: smart ones with a fiber one bar
S: something cold!

good luck everyone! i really hope those of you in the NE are staying cool! :)
