Hey, I think it was pretty successful and, to be honest, I liked almost everybody that was involved.
(Kidding!)
Same dilly - For those of us in the current four week count down, post your final weight there, and then copy and paste it here... as it will be the starting weight here!
Morning Weigh ins on May 12th, and then every Thursday and Monday from then on!
(I'm actually pretty glad to do this - I'm going to Hawaii on June 12th, so I'd love a reason to keep driving to my goal weight before I get on that plane.)
Awright! Who's in!
Reason: Moved to a more appropriate forum
start weight: 128
current weight: 124
so happy. i didn't think it was working at first. :)
Congratulations to everyone on all the weight loss.
elairda Don't you dare think about quiting! Remember why you're doing this and how good it makes you feel.
Depending on where you are on your cycle water weight happens. I always gain and stall before ovulation most do this at TTOM. If you are eating right. (you might want to check into the more cal thing) and exercising which you do more than I do, some day I'll work myself up a little more. Then don't fret it will come off.
marmel I couldn't find gauze on any list but I think it would be under insoluble fiber which is basically nothing.
elairda - have you tried using different things rather than just weighing yourself? Are the clothes loose? Measuring yourself with the tape and see any results? Tried using body fat analyzer (a hand-held thing)? Make sure you keep records along with your weight every week and then you can compare.
These things could make a big difference for you. I do all of these and then I know I'm on the track.
Also you could be retaining a lot of water and eat less sodium as it holds more water.
Good luck!
Hey guys,
Thanks so much for the overwhelming support. I try to be really honest with my calories, but I'm sure little things sneak in that I don't always remember. I suppose what I should really do is carry a little book around with me and write down everything so i can put it in later. That worked when I tried to lose weight a couple years ago.
I'm also going to take zephyr's advice and start using other mechanisms to gauge my progress. I am skeptical that I am actually gaining muscle because my workouts are cardio based. I suppose I should also try to mix up my exercise a bit. Have other people had success with this? I like my workout because my gym has tvs/dvd players on all the cardio machines so I can watch a show and completely distract myself for an hour while use the elliptical. But losing weight isn't supposed to be easy, so I guess it is time to step outside my comfort zone. What do people recommend for mixing it up?
Again, thanks for all the support. I really appreciate it :)
elairda,
Zephyrdame is right. There are other things you can do. I was going to start showing my measurements on my Bio, my ticker don't work right. I don't know why it stopped working for me. I 've lost now over 64 pounds, and I feel great. My tool bar down load had something to do with it. Since I've added it.. My ticker has stop working.
Measure yourself, and do it every 2 weeks. You will see the change. I didn't lose weight for a week or so, and my trainer told me.. Okay! Your measurements shows you have lost 7 inches. I've been doing it myself. Ever since. It make sense to do it. I do it myself every 2 weeks if my trainer don't bring out the tape and do it for me. She only does it when I haven't lost anything in a few weeks. Just to see what is going on with my weight loss.
She will aways tell me.. Muscle gain hon, you are trading out pounds for muscle pounds. I like that. I look tone in places I've never been, and it's all in my legs.
Measure yourself. See what you come up with in two weeks if you haven't before. I am running now 36-30-45, and that's a long way from 40-39.5-53 or was it 56. I got to look that up, but it's a long way. Check your measurements every 2 weeks.
Ugh...my cheap scale broke. I had to weigh myself at the gym today. Does anyone have a suggestion for a reputable-brand scale that isn't going to break the bank?
Good news though...down one pound from last weigh in:
126 lbs.
Monday monday monday *sigh*... always comes at the end of a good weekend...
And after a good weekend comes a pound or two to say hello there I missed you so much I'm baaaack... ugh nevermind ![]()
Well I'm up to 141... I went to see my bf (we have a LDR) and we usually eat out alot because we tend to stay in hotels. BUT I did make healthier choices than I would normally have done, though I think I over did it on the chinese, and I really didn't need the cookie at Subway and I couldn't convince myself that it was healthier just coz it has raisins in lol it was far too sweet! And I did choose B n J frozen yogurt (strawb cheesecke) over the ice cream... (it had fruit in it!)
He's moving into his own place on Tues (yay!) which means I can pretty much choose what I want to eat
and hopefully wean him off the junk a bit more...
We went to see Indiana Jones. I thought it was okay, but I wasn't totally convinced by HF acting! I thought he was a bit growly like a big bear! Though his son was kinda cute... and all I could think of was how could the aliens have crystal skulls and a tiny neck to support it??? oh dear... nevermind it was entertaining anyways and we did randomly meet one of bfs friends he hasn't seen in a year and a half ![]()
I wanted to lose weight before the album launch on june 6th.
And... I am down to 63 KILOS!
That means I've lost about 3 kgs so far.
And it has been incredibly hard cause all you can eat on the road is junkfood.
But with alot of determination, I have done it. Now I am at home and can watch what I eat easily for the next 2 weeks until the launch.
4 more kilos to go!
Happy Monday (Memorial Day)! I worked hard this weekend to not go crazy and it's paid off for me.
Starting Weight for this forum: 203.6
Last Monday weight: 201.4
Last Thursday weight: 199.2
Today's weight: 197.2
Lots of cardio this past week mixed in with my normal weightlifiting. Big Celtics fan, so I get lost on the treadmill while they are playing and end up jogging for an hour, then cooling down for another 30 minutes.
Also eating well while going out. Took the tilapia with veggies over the pizza or burger and fries that I would have normally taken. The fish was good. I'm not a seafood person, so this was a big step for me.
I did have a nice bowl of cold stone ice cream with a banana in it last night. Going for a strawberry shortcake at my picnic today. Just have to stay away from the million chocolate chip cookies my mother is bringing. I can eat them all day.
Good Luck to everyone and enjoy your day!
Good morning. For me it's another up morning grrrrrrr. At least it's still down from last Monday. Anyway I still feel great and know I did a good job of eating over the weekend. I'm going to a barbecue today and I'm bringing no Fat Beef Hot dogs and Boca Burgers They both make wonderful vehicles for the condiments. (ssauerkraut and chili)

Oh and my mom bought be a pair of Seven for All Mankind jeans for $100 at TJ Maxx (otherwise they'd be like $200+) and they're a size 29 (as in a size 9, not the other kind of size 29, hahaha) and holy crap I look so so effing hot in them!!!
Hey guys!
Background info:
SW (March): 216 / GW 185
First Monday: 195
Second Monday: 193.5
Today: 191
Okay, so... It's a slow trickle downward, which makes me very very happy. I spent the weekend not getting access to good foods, but still making good choices. Also, I'm sure having four teeth ripped out and it being impossible to eat crap (or anything) didn't hurt much.
Everybody else seems like they're kicking ass too, or that the bumpers are small and surmountable. Me: I could use some advice on keeping myself interested, because if I have Chicken, or Cheerios, or light wheat bread one more day I'm going to shoot myself in the throat.
I won't actually do that, BTW.
I'm adapting my goal weight downward to 185 because - well, now I'm getting over confident! I want to keep driving through the end of this particular run. (It used to be 189, but that feels attainable by June 9th!!!)
My desire to "eat a whole pizza when I hit the magic number" is in sight, and I'd like that to be the day that I move from loss to maintenance.
OH! And speaking of jean shopping - I did a little yesterday and learned I was now officially a 34. Which I haven't been since I moved to LA. So thanks, you guys, and this place! It's workin' for me! (The jeans weren't cheaper, despite their lack of fabric. Just so you know.)
:)
How's everyone else doing?
I'm still at 124...saw a glimmer of 122, but then it vanished in the train wreck, lol.
Believe me, I'm happy at 124, but it's been about 6 weeks, and I would love to ultimately get down to 118 again, but I'm thinking that might not be an option.
I guess I could go to a gym, but somehow I feel outraged that I should have to pay someone to get me back into shape lol. (I have a lot of these mental blocks - don't even get me started on technology or cars, lmao)
As for jeans, I've been a 7 juniors down from a 10/12 petite woman. I have a pair of 5s waiting for me...they zipper up, but I have muffin top, lol...so some work is definitely needed.
I think I just need a kick in the butt to get myself in gear again.
Hey all
So I took your good advice and bought a measuring tape and measured yesterday morning (and then- it broke, after one use! GNC piece of crap.)
So starting(over) stats
Waist: 29
Hips: 37
But my real problem area is the lower belly (above the hips, below the waist): 35
So anyway, I'll check up on that again in a couple weeks. In the meantime I've been hitting the gym hardcore (to prepare and then make up for the wedding disaster of last night (not mine... just one I attended). It was a whole fiasco, I hadn't had any alcohol in a month and a half, but I decided to make an exception last night, and I went a little nuts... I've always said, the only bad decisions I make when I drink are about food.. but enough of this tangent). I'm hoping if i just sweat a lot, and really push myself that at least my endurance will improve. I just need to see SOME kind of results even if I can't coax them out of my waistline.
SO- weighed myself at the gym this morning. It doesnt really count as comparison, because I usually only weigh myself in the evening (bad, I know. But it's the only time I have access to a scale). anyway it came out as 137.4.
I hope to see that number in the evening sometime soon. Happy Memorial day everyone! Go light on the bbq sauce and indulge in sweet sweet fruit.
Happy Monday, and Memorial Day Everyone.
Now let's get down to business once again... I did lose a little just a drop.
Here's the list of weight
5/12 166lbs
5/15 166lbs :(
5/19 164 :)
5/22 162 ;)
Today 5/26 :) 161.5 :-)
I guess this will do, I am looking to lose more. I am almost close to my goal weight of 158lbs, and I will be there in due time.. I will get it. How are you all doing?
I'm doing really well! Better than expected, actually. I kind of want to change my goal weight for this challenge since I'm only 3 pounds away, but then I would be crushed if I didn't meet the new goal :-/
I'll just save my lower goal for the next challenge :-)
There WILL be another one, right??? Marmel you better have another one after this!! It's so so motivating, I feel like I'm really accountable now and it helps so much
M2 - 162.8 T2 - 160.6
M3 - 164.8
SW: 164.4
This months goal: 6.4lbs / 158lbs
OMG I'm heavier than when I started this thing! lol I'm not going to feel TOO bad. I had a cheat day yesterday and ate a piece of pizza some breadsticks and some ice cream. Also, it was a holiday weekend, I had some beers too. There is NO way I could have gained an acual 5lbs. It has to be undigested foods and water right? Some one reassure me,, please?
I'm SO not logging this on my weight log! haha! I winnnn.
126 lbs...same as last Thursday
Hey Ali!
Yeah, I'm going to do another one of these. I like it here.
The fact is, if I didn't do this every day, I would go back to bad behavior... and I have a trip to Hawaii AND a trip to Colorado in the next 30 days.
This place keeps me on my best behavior and, to be honest, it's really really working for me. But it's working for me because I feel like I'm part of a group bigger than just me and a gym...
...it's the community that makes it work.
Here's my personal dilemma: I promised myself no booze and no pizza until I hit a specific weight. I'm... close. I can see it. And... I can see the pizza.
So now I'm torn, because I want to keep moving down my path, but I feel like I totally deserve my "Day of Pizza and Whisky!" Although I'm sure I'll gain a few pounds in the process. That's right. Pounds. Plural.
Question: Is there anything to the "You can only absorb so many calories in a day" myth? I remember, when my friend was dieting like 12 years ago, he would have a "cheat" day where he would literally eat as much as he wanted because at some point, his body would poot out the rest.
I paraphrase.
Thoughts?
*SIGHS* Not a good memorial day weekend.
I'm now at 136.1.
I was 135 two days ago -- thanks a lot to two nights of friends' gathering. Two nights ago, I ate a bunch of food at a friend's BBQ. Yesterday morning, I was up .8 lbs.
I ended up having two rolls of sushi, dutch apple pie, and vanilla bean ice cream last night. My WEAKNESS is that I let my temptation get to me whenever I'm with friends. A lesson learned here, guys.
On the top of that, I haven't worked out for past three days...
I'll just get back on track this week.
