Just a note...

Hi everybody! Laughing

It's too early to post for yesterday, but my phone company had something weird happen, so all the DSL lines I knew were off tonight! Surprised

I'll catch up later today, after my daughter has surgery for removing tonsils this morning, so I'll be busy...

When I return I'll be, hopefully, trying the new, (recertified), computer that should be arriving while I'm gone! (My Dell died... I've missed my laptop!)

Hello out there!!!  I was so tired lastnight that I fell asleep on the couch at 8:15, my hubbby got me back up at 10:30 because he too fell asleep.  So here is my calorie count for yesterday, 1,200ish.  I say ish because we went to Sam's club and I tried a cressant(sp?) and ham sample.........mmmm, but I figured that was probably 100 calories on top of the 1,103 that I entered.  All is good.  Exercise was running up the stairs at the parking garage and walking around stores for 2 hrs.

TTom has slowed me down a bit I think and now I have a sore throat.  Gonna gargle salt water in a bit.  For those who remember me talking about my mom, she is in rehab and will probably be in there until next week.  I try to go see her daily, plus make sure my kids do their school work....I'm tired and wore out.

If it wasn't for the humor in here I might curl up in a little ball and hibernate but you guys keep me going...thanks!

oops I forgot some exercise...I helped my husband carry a 200 lb radial arm saw down to our basement, our stairs going down have a sharp turn so it took us about five tries before we could figure it out how to get it down...have the bruise to prove it...lol
Caloric intake for yesterday (12/3)--2619

Daily Fiber Intake - 39 grams

Exercise--upper body strength training and core stabilization work.

MUST...CUT...BACK...ON...SODIUM!!!!
DWF, I guess it just felt like a cheat day since I know I ate too much at the buffet. Even if it was the better items. That and not logging it into my calorie log. I have no idea how I would log that stuff in. Plus I didn't get my cardio done yesterday because hubby and his 2 brothers were home all day. I'm going to make up for that though, by doing yesterdays today. So I'll have 2 cardio days in a row, because Wednesday is one too. Cardio meaning my treadmill workouts.

Anyways I'm doing good so far today. Once my little guy goes down for a nap I'll hop on the treamill. :D

I'm going to shoot for 1600-1700 calories today because of the workout. I was talking to some other tall girls in the weight loss forum and they think I'll get better results if I up my calories a bit. So I'm going to try that. I'm kind of used to eating 1200-1400, so it might be kind of hard to do that. I'll make some higher calorie stuff or something. Or have peanut butter on a celery stick. That would help!

Good luck with your sodium Walter!

Good job everyone else!

Gid out your scales! LOL :)
Report for December 4, 2007.

1,684 calories. Grade A.

Fat - 24.4% (47 grams)
Protein - 21.5% (93 grams)
Carbohydrates - 54.1% (234 grams)
Alcohol - 0.0%
Other - 0.0%

Daily Sodium Intake - 2,858 mg
Daily Cholesterol Intake - 172 mg
Daily Fiber Intake - 31 grams

I did 36 mintues of cardio and burn meter is at 2,371! So that's a 687 calorie defecit! I ate right in my goal!

I was trying to get my fat percentage lower and I was doing good until later in the day I was trying to get in more calories and I guess what I ate stuck it up there. I've got to eat more calories earlier in the day!

Hey all -- gawd what a busy day. But a client from way back paid their bill from 2005-06, whew that's a relief! On the phone finishing up the day until late, ugh. Made my weekend list to get the house ship-shape for holiday book club next week. And taking my opportunity to de-clutter since putting the place up for sale in about 6 weeks or so.

Today's report:

Calories: 1545 Fat 25% Protein 24% Carbs 51%, 31 grams of fiber Fruit/veg report: pink grapefruit, granny smith apple, carrots, avocado, sweet onion, yukon gold potato, celery, pears, broccoli, boston lettuce, pomegranete, dried apricot

Exercise: 90 minutes power yoga, 20 minutes weights and balance ball, quick 2-mile walk to get the blood flowing

Burned calories: 2425 Deficit: 880

I'm psyched, starting a core strength training class 2x week for six weeks next Monday; I'm hopeful it will help with these next 17 lbs to get me below 200. And tighten up the "pooch"! BTW, my stomach has NEVER been flat, I don't see the appeal, LOL! But I would love to get my waist slimmer. I think that's a long-term health benefit, too, the slimmest waist possible. I don't remember where I read that.

Does anyone drink cocktails during the "go for gold" time? I'm off the sauce until I reach a couple more mini-goals. Too much sugar, and too easy to have "a few drinks" that all don't get tracked on the weekends.

DWF -- save your boxes for me, I'm gonna need 'em LOL (been living in this house 13 years, who knows what I'll find!)

Mel -- good protein, what do you eat to get that amount in?

wrm -- can you sub veggies or fresh foods to reduce your sodium? Even with eating out, you can sub slaw for fries, fruit salad for mashed taters, etc. I love salt too, had to wean myself and use other flavors instead (Mrs. Dash is a great seasoning, and fresh herbs, and vinegar...)

Cheers all,

- RG

1,206 no exercise.....depressed...... need more time in the day

rivergrrrl, most of the protein probably came from chicken, egg whites, chicken lunchmeat and nonfat yogurt.
Yesterday's (12/4) caloric intake--2235 calories

Fat - 12.1%/Protein - 31.6%/Carbohydrates - 56.3%

Daily Sodium Intake - 2,018 mg
Daily Cholesterol Intake - 138 mg
Daily Fiber Intake - 49 grams

Sodium intake was better today--thanks to everyone for your encouragement and suggestions. Took the day off from lifting, although I started a holiday retail job for some extra cash (overnight stock), which will keep me busier and walking around all night. Oh yeah, and the 2 mile run home in the fresh show at 3 am was a nice treat.

Wow...everyone's doing so GREAT!!!  :)  This is wonderful, I truly like this thread.

DWF, you asked about the burn meter...mine reads on inactive days 1580, for active days, I go just a little above 2000 sometimes, but mostly it's around 1900.  I run twice a week and aerobicize with a step three times a week.  I understand the deficit ....it's much harder the more you've lost!  I hate seeing that burn meter drop.  How's the unpacking going??

I'm avoiding the scale this week at it's ttom...bummer.  :(  But...I'll be looking forward to hopping on it Sunday for my weekly check in!   Hopefully it's still a loss, and no gain...and no "same number as last time" either... :)

My burn meter is at 2030 on inactive days and then goes up if I log in my workouts. I'm guessing the burn meter will keep going down as I lose weight.

2 more days until my next weigh in!
Did anyone watch the Biggest Loser last night? I really like that show - I should have been studying for finals, but couldn't help watching.

I'm 5'4, 140 lbs (20 yrs old) right now and really want a bod like Jillian or Kim. I think they both look awesome. Basically I just want a toned body. I've lost a little over 100 lbs, but i've got a bit of loose skin on my tummy and my thighs are awful. I hate my thighs. I may be 140 but I sure don't look like it. Anyways, point of this story - I'm going to start focusing a lot more on toning and weights. Sure I'll still get my cardio in but I need to drastically increase the time i spend on weights. I have a lot of lower body strength, thanks to when i used to play soccer and my tree trunk legs, but my upper body is pretty weak, mind you it's not as bad as it used to be. And i just know i have a defined set of abs underneath my flab...i just know it! haha

Calories so far: 988

I've got one more meal for today - supper and I think we're having perogies. I had a snack this afternoon and am thinking about making it for supper too - you take cauliflower and cut it into little bite size pieces, toss it in a mix of chili powder, pepper, salt and cumin and bake in the over at 400 for 10 mins! It's really tasty, and low cal!

I started my christmas cooking yesterday, and staying away from those treats will definetly be my biggest challenge. i made cranberry almond cookies with an orange glaze and helped myself to one or two..or three..okay okay, four. they are 110 cals each and irresitable. i've finally put them away and aren't craving them anymore but i've got about 5 more recipes to make (i bring an assortment to every xmas party i go to) and about 5 biscotti recipes. Surely I won't have to taste test every recipe..i'll get someone else to do that.

Wow - hope you enjoy reading my short novel! hope everyone is doing great
