| HI! My name is Laura and i am 5-5 and 235 lbs as of today. I did weigh 240 almot 2 weeks ago. I am counting calories cuz I do not know what ele to do. When i gave birth, I only weighed 201 lbs! My son is 5(his bday is halloween). I cant believe i have put on so much lately. I have high blood pressure so I am on Diovan. I am also on protonix( for heartburn). I took myself off depo provera lat Sept and currently have the IUD, Mirena. Birth control was part of it but that is why I switched to IUD. I am taking it slow, and watching what I eat. I guess I am supposed to stay under 1700 calories and I walked 20 minutes today. I hate exercise now but I have to do it to lose weight the old fashioned Way! if you have any suggestions, please tell me.... |

| vk you can't be any worse than me.....I had a carls jr charbroiled bbq chicken sandwich w/ fries! I'll still be w/in my calories today, but wow. sooo yummy though :) | ||

hi betsy and welcome!!!!!! The paperclip challenge was started way back when ...the thread is called "100 + to lose paperclip challenge"...it's probably on page 2 by now. maybe i can find it and move it back to page 1 the basic idea is to get bright cheery paperclips (or good ole silver is fine too!!) and for each pound you lose, you add a paperclip...and watch your chain grow!! I just started back 2 weeks ago and started doing the paperclip thing again. so, go there and post your success!!! come to as many post sites as you please!! we love hearing your successes and will help you through the tough days!!! |

Still haven't gotten my paper clips. I'm going shopping this weekend so I will have to pick some up. What could I use instead in the meantime? Any ideas?
Welcome Betsy! More motivators....this board Rocks eh? This is something I read on another board that someone else posted...can't recall the board now and can't find it again. But here is what she said and it really inspired me..hope it does the same for all of you. Everyday you eat well is good for your body even if you don't see that magic number. What you are doing is good for you no matter what the scale says and you have to remember that weigh fluctuates and you have to look at it over time not day to day. |

Rockinmama...safety pins, rubber bands, binder clips, strips of paper taped in ring shapes connecting as you go along...think arts and crafts class in elementary school. Lol ktcort-awe shucks *blush* ;) Aren't you glad it is over though!? And I again second that motion for rockinmama! I just can't get over the coolness of the the nickname either. |

Oh my nothing cool about me.....just the name and I've had that for years since I started using the internet...lol...needed something for my email account and didn't want to use my real names...lol..but thanks all the same....you guys are too cute! Makin me Blush...:)
I finally found some paperclips but they aren't colored...:( They'll do for now though. I've got 19 pins up on my bulletinboard above the computer. It is kinda motivating isn't it? Can't wait until I can add more to it though. I'm tired of being stuck at 221. I forget who had suggested eating higher protein at night....but it seems to help. Not as hungry at night...thanks whoever you were!!! :) |

okay...eponajenna...lol...I think you gave me the flu...:) I sure hope that you are feeling better. I woke up this morning sick...I don't think it is the flu...I think it is just a cold...itchy eyes...cough...chest hurts...low grade fever...stuffy head...runny nose...yuck! I did not eat a lot today but I did not eat well...a former salesman at my job brought lunch today...I had a philly swiss sandwich from a Greek restaurant...and some fries...still not horrible since I am not hungry for dinner...and I was down a pound this morning...we will see what tomorrow brings...right now I just want to burl up in a ball and go to sleep!! Sounds like everyone is alive and kicking and doing great! I am going to go out this weekend and buy some colored paperclips too...start my chain...I think that is a great idea...shows you the successes...:) |

| I fit in here also. I am 46, have two teens, married 18 years and up and down the scale ugh soo many times. This last time I was like I just can't diet again. This has been 4 years of me trying to get somewhere but getting no where. I am a binger but food really does nothing for me anymore. IT is like this bad habit I just can't get rid of. In any case, I love this site and am trying. I would like to get out of my rutt and actually lose after the last 4 years of trying. | ||

| tully- Welcome--this whole site can really be helpful to you. It's hard not to get motivated here on c-c. I've never seen a site like this. People here are wonderful and so understanding. Try not to think of this as a diet. It's a life change for the better. You want to be healthy again and feel younger. And you want to feel good about yourself for you not for anyone else. Got it? Good. Keep smiling and be positive....yes you can do this. | ||

oh..tabby---hope you feel better soon!!!! I got the munchies earlier, boy, I love anything that is carb/bread. yum, yum....so i got a serving of red fat triscuits. they really worked!!! I also did the protein thing last night when I was still really hungry after dinner. My hubby said that "they" said if you eat at night after dinner, eat protein. And you are right! It did work!!! have a great evening all! |

| thanks. I don't know if it is that I don't think I can do it is more do I really want to? And, I am not sure what the answer is. I mean I would like to be a size 14 but clearly not that badly. I think I am having a hard time from the past me that would go on my diet, yes I know this isn't a diet and life style change, and stick to it no matter what. I had that stick to it ness, you know? I just don't seem to have that any more which frankly is surprising and really hurting me in this area. So, I am struggling but I keep trying. So, hopefully it will come to pass eventually. I just used to want it soo bad and now ek, you know? Like you, I have a wonderful husband who has never ever made me feel horrible about my weight. That has been such a blessing. I am still in conflict I think and hopefully it will move in the new direction of stick to it ness! | ||

oh no, tabby! I really hope I didn't get you sick :] feel better soon, and take good care of yourself. I started to feel better last night, but relapsed in the morning feeling worse than before. I need this bug to go away so I can get my butt to the gym :[. I was thinking I might lose a couple pounds from being sick, just as a makeshirt headstart, but no such luck :P. it's great to read up on everyone, congrats to all of you who have had a successful week thus far. to those of you who aren't so happy.. hide from the multiple diseases floating around, and keep at it! it's so frustrating not to be able to go out and get started - you all need to burn some cals for me :] carrying the 18-pound child hit me particularly hard - I really want to take some stress of my poor body! it's been patient with me long enough. any tall ladies out there? I'm 19 years, 5'10-5'11, and I haven't bumped into a lot of taller gals as I've scanned the site. just curious :] have a great one, all. |

Okay Tabby and eponajenna, get some rest and let your body do what it has to do. Lots of soup, sleep and get better. eponajenna, sorry I'm 5'6"...but I'm one of the tallest in my family! Does that count? Lol Rockinmama, 19 pounds...I always seem to get stuck in that range too. It does bite. Keep it up, something will give...and when it does, it'll probably be a nice surprise. Besides, celebrate where you are now and be proud of how far you've come so far. itsmytime, I'm stumped...what are red fat triscuits? I know what triscuits are, but red fat? |

I'm so happy to hear the protein at night is working for you guys! I accidentally discovered that the other night when I was able to go the whole evening without snacking and it was because I had chicken for dinner. Something has to give a little right?!? Might as well be protein for dinner! **Lysols the desk** You guys didn't get me sick but, my husband on the other hand, he's not feeling good. I love him to pieces and I find him even cuter when he's sick because he's like a big kid. Does anyone else's hubby turn into a kid when they're sick?? :) Anyways, welcome to all the newcomers, this is the best site you'll run into for support! |

hyechong--When my b/f had his surgeries (2 so far for his shoulder) I went into super mommy mode! He had to sleep sitting up on the couch so I slept on the ground so I could give him his pills in the middle of the night and change his ice and all that. He tries to be tough about it and act like he can do it all on his own but he needs the help. I love taking care of him though.
I am a little confused. Today is the second day that I am well below my calories but not hungry. I haven't even eaten dinner and it's 9pm but I'm just not hungry. I'm like 500 short for today. I'm really unsure of if I'm at the right number of calories, I aim for 1600 a day. I just don't know how to tell. It seems like no matter how many calories I'm at the pounds just aren't really coming off. Still hoping that when I am over the stress and back to normal sleep they will start shedding. My body is just in freak out mode haha |
