Hi everyone, When weighed Tuesday I had maintained so will see what tomorrow brings. Hope everyone has a great weekend. I'm going out of town to see some plays and golf so hope the eating goes okay. will check in to post weight tomorrow. keep trying everyone we can do this. I have to work on my water, and according to my dietition I'm not getting all my food in , it's funny that when you only have veg.fruit and certain starches how you can't over eat it. I've never OD on vegs.

Hi ladies,

I signed up for the challenge also.  I think I made it at #20, I hope so.

Ok the cortisone killed me last night.  I felt like I broke the ankle again.  I work at Famous Footwear one to two nights a week unloading boxes of shoes and putting on carts to stock.  Well since it is getting to be back to school we had so many boxes.  I like the job because it is like a workout in itself, I worked last night and should have listened to the dr and just put my foot up with ice.

Zena, thanks for the article.  I did gag down breakfast today....I hate eating in the morning but I do know it is important.  Maybe if I change my eating schedule it may help lose the stubborn pounds.  I stick to my calories but usually eat them all in the evening....not good.

#146 olivia77 Jul 24 2008 21:56
cool that you got in on the challenge, kim!   me too  ( :

lol, zena, when is dinner and can I bring J???

(blush)  gosh, zena!  nah, just kidding....  um, hard-ish to describe. I also say I used to have laundry basket hips -- you know the kind that you could sit a basket on and walk off and the basket would stay??  NO MORE  --  I have had two abdominal surgeries (one by emergency), so all that water and air inside added to my extremely fat body and yo-yo dieting, I have a pooch of flab that creates an eyelid of grossness right above my belly button (#1) and another pooch between the belly button and special garden (#2).   =P    when I started using cc, I just had to measure everything you know and know myself how bad it had really gotten......  Wanna see some shocking numbers?

first inches ever--first number is June last year, second is this week
bust  43.5--37.5
waist  43--32.5
bicep  16--13/12.75?
shoulder  17--15
pooch 1  49--34
pooch 2  51.5--38.75
hip  51--40
thigh  29.5--24.5
calf  18.25--16.1

WOW

Hi Friends,

I'm a day early weighing in, but here goes, and I'll revise if I weigh more in the morning, which I think and hope I will.  :)  I didn't exercise today at all, and ate quite a bit.  I've decided it's now time to eat back any exercise calories I burn.  In the beginning I thought that idea was crazy.  How in the world could I lose if I ate back what I burned off.  Dumb I thought.  Well now I'm to a point where if I do excercise I must eat more.  I tried on some sleeveless tops and do not like my arms this thin, so I won't wear anything but a 3/4 sleeve until I gain a few more pounds. I never thought I'd be saying that in my lifetime.

I never imagined days could fly by either, where my mind wasn't constantly consumed with the idea of what I was going to eat from one minute to the next.    But my body finally adjusted to eating significantly less, and somedays I actually don't quite eat enough calories to even maintain, let alone gain.  I was used to eating as if I were a 6 foot tall man, instead of the five foot zero woman I am, lol.  At one time  I could out eat any man,  ( although I never let anyone know!)  and it's a wonder I didn't weigh more than I did. Because in private I could polish off a medium pizza in less than 30 minutes!

January 1st I weighed 120, today I weigh exactly 90 pounds.  I'd like to get up to 95..........well not really like to, but know I should, so I am going to work at it.  My Doctor would like me to get up to 100, but we'll shoot for 95 first.

As I said earlier, I got addicted to exercise and that can be dangerous too.  A compulsion to exercise can turn a person into an anorexic too, ( even if you are eating 1200 calories a day, )  and I really did start to scare myself, so I'm backing off on all the cardio dance, and am going to plan on a 30 minute walk a day is all for a few weeks, and try to get my weight up a little.  :)  Burning off everything you eat is not a good or wise choice to make, and please don't anyone try to do that.   Have a great weekend everyone. Here are my stats from the very first weigh in when we started this topic, and up to now.

Rachel

Olivia, those stats are amazing! Really! You should be really proud of yourself and feeling great!

I weigh in today at 134.1 which is exactly one pound less than last week. Things are actually working the way they're supposed to! Knock me over with a feather!

Rachel, looks like you're heading back toward a better place. Stay strong!

#150 olivia77 Jul 25 2008 14:35
thanks, chris.   I hadn't done that in a while -- looked at starting vs. now numbers.  it is good to do every so often.  ( :

I cannot seem to get it going again.....    167.6 today (which has been going down steadily, but I see from last week, the old scale gave me some trouble --from 173 - 166.5, but I am going to keep at it and just hope for more consistency from both myself and the new scale next week.

hope all you losers are well!!!   ( :
#151 lkahead Jul 25 2008 15:56

Hi ladies, weigh in at 144.4 today.

Olivia, great numbers. Those measurements show how hard you have worked this past year. Keep at it, sometimes the scale doesn't show you everything.

Rachel, thanks for the reminder. Yeah, we need to remember that we take in more calories if we were to exercise more, or your body will start to break down your muscle for food, which is a big no-no in my book.

#152 immom Jul 25 2008 17:25

Morning ladies

Today I am 158. That is down .5 from last week. Highs an lows this week were 161.5-156.5 so I'm not sure I will believe the scale. At least it is down .5 instead of up.

I went out for dinner with my family again(my aunts birthday). Ye Old Welcome Inn. My grandparents started going there years ago. So it's a tradition I guess. Pub food is what you get at a pub. Along with jug after jug of beer. It was fun but I don't know where my calories ended up. I'll be good this week to make up for it.

Olivia Wow those numbers are impressive

Rachel Keep at it you're doing good

Chris Yay. A pound in the right direction

#153 puppykisses Jul 25 2008 17:47

immom great job.

Chris great job....we are just about neck and neck!!!!!

156

I didn't do too bad..had some roasted corn, a philly steak sandwich and some curly fries with ketchup..................yumm nothing horrible

#155 puppykisses Jul 25 2008 18:41

Rachel, for exercise are you doing any weight lifting?  Just imagine how sculpted  your arms would look with some muscle tone.  I workout with weights but I have a layer of fluff so the muscles do not show.  I was like you before kids and could not keep weight on then after kids I weighed about 113 for years......then the mid thirties came and I started gaining weight and I did look better but then once I got past the 120s and into the 130s it was/is close to impossible to get rid of.  You are so fortunate to already have a workout schedule in place.  It is so hard to start it in your later thirties into your fortiesUndecided.  I will be forty-three in August.....such a weird totally random number.

Take care and good luck with the weight gain,

Kim

i do it all the time:)))) it helps. my scale says 194 today-it will probably be more tomorrow (quite a rapid loss, too good to be true) BUT i love looking at the graph to see the line going down and being below the green trend line.

it was nice to visit my friend yesterday - whe prepared us ONLY healthy things, and as she had a day off work, she had time to arrange all those peppers, tomatoes, eggs, cheese etc. really nicely. we walked her dog for an hour and a half also. and then talked how nice it is to have a great girls evening without the guilt we used to feel before when we had chips, pretzels and so on:))

will do lots of walking today, and eat my yummy fruit, veg, yogurts... and yes, cheese. bought a sharp blue cheese yesterday (strong cheeses satisfy me even in moderate amounts, hooray) - just a small piece so i do not have this inner fight

#157 olivia77 Jul 26 2008 16:42
good for you, ka!   moderation = key  ( :

keep up the good work  -- and I love the healthy girls night!!!!!
#158 ka2007 Jul 26 2008 18:39

it was great - the best thing abotu it was that we did NOT miss anything - all the fun was there:)

#159 olivia77 Jul 27 2008 01:40
THAT is the BEST thing about it --  bar none!!!!!!

I had a turning point when I realized my homemade versions of "bad" food actually were yummier than the real thing.   It is figuring out how to make it work in EVERY DAY sistuations that make this a lifestlye/journey vs. a diet, ka.  GOOD FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   I am inspired to do something better for me!
