Anyone in this grouping looking to drop from 140 to 130's.  We can all use support.  Today I am focusing on all the food groups.  Exercise would be good, but I won't be able to since I am working from 9 to 10:30.  A Super long day.  I hope I can stay focused, when I pass the fast food chaines on my travels today.

good morning!

Unicat- it sounds like you did a great job this weekend! wtg!

I went to the gym on Saturday and Sunday! I had a blast!! I went on the elliptical both days and loved it! On Saturday there was a guy there showing me all the machines and he had me do a pretty wicked ab workout, they are still a little sore today!

Up to 141.4 this morning... I'm not logging it, it's too annoying. I'll log tomorrow instead. I think *hope* it's water weight b/c I had burger king for lunch yesterday *whopper jr. and med fry* and a steak for dinner. But for the most part I did pretty good eating-wise this weekend! And I got in some good workouts! yay! I'm going back up to the gym tonight to do more cardio... probably use the stationary bike, the treadmill and the elliptical. 20 min on each.

Even though my weight went up, my butt is looking more defined! My tummy bulge seemed a little bigger this morning but didn't really feel bloated... we'll see what happens with that over the next few days. lol

good morning all....... sorry you were alone this weekend, Bridgette.  Most weekends I am on, but we were busy this weekend.  My husband and I started this "date night" thing about three months ago - we actually go out on a "date" once a month.  Its kinda fun, I tease him about kissing me on the first date, he of course just rolls his eyes.

I had no normal workouts this weekend, played outdoor soccer Saturday morning (froze our butts off).  Then my daughter moved into her first home yesterday, so we were busy helping them.  We were exhausted when we got home, showered and fell on the couch!!!  Getting to "dam**" old for this!!!!

No workout this evening either, another lovely game of outdoor soccer in the the rain/snow mix - gotta love Ohio weather!!!

Hi all!  Long time no post! :)  Well spring break is over, so I will be more active here--holiday's just kill my motivation!  I have no problem exercising--I love it!  But I just eat whatever I want! arrggh!  So now I feel like I did after Xmas break--not pleased at all that my fat is rolling over my pants again! yucK!

So another day 1 for me!  I promise to be good for the whole week--including this weekend!  This is my challenge to me--lets see if I can stick with it!

Good luck all!
Dee

LOL--poor Brigitte! all alone on the forum over the weekend! :) i love getting new lingerie--so much fun. i think i do it more for me than any boyfriend :) esp since the current one doesn't really care about it--can you say DISAPPOINTING?!  anyways :) sounds totally hot--glad you found some stuff you love :) i've got a black corset that does the same thing--haven't worn it for quite a while though!

stacey--glad you're having so much fun at the gym! that's awesome! nice with teh ab workout--i need to work more on memorizing some moves or putting together a routine that i can do at the gym. it's just so hodge-podge for me at this point, that i spend as much time deciding what exercise to do as actually DOING the exercise :) hope your water weight goes away :(

vicki--that's so cool about the date nights--i really hope i do something like that once i get married (if/when...lol). that's exciting that your daughter moved into her first home! yay!  at least it's warming up now so your soccer games should be a LOT more enjoyable :)

dee--good luck with getting back on track! you can totally do it! i'm in the same boat as you--love working out but diet often suffers :(

as for me, i had a GREAT weekend in chicago! saturday, my mom and i woke up, went to the gym, but didn't take our suits cuz we thought the steam room would be segregated by gender...totally wasn't :)  so i just got in a good workout and pushed my arms pretty hard (shoulders are still a bit sore!) we then spent the next...oh...6 hours shopping in chicago :) my legs were pretty tired :) i tried on lots of dresses and stuff, looking for something for my friend's wedding in may.  i found this REALLY cute baby doll dress.  I got it in size 8 (!!!) but it was actually a little bit loose! So, especially if I lose more weight (which I'd better!) before the wedding, I'll probably get it taken in a little.  But it looked REALLY cute and is a different style than anything I've ever worn.  Gonna get some hot red open-toed pumps or sexy sling-backs with red jewelry :) i'll post pics of me in it when i get a chance.  but my mom and i both really liked it so i decided to just go ahead and get it :) i also got this really cute fossil purse for summer (the striped one)! it was exactly what i've been looking for!  my mom also bought me a TON of makeup and makeup brushes :) heehee.  they were expensive too! so i'm glad she paid for 'em :) Then sunday we went out with my dad before heading home, and i managed to get two new pairs of workout shorts and two new tops :) yay!  so i only bought the purse and dress, but came home with lots of new makeup stuff and some new workout clothes :) we ate at this AMAZING hawaiian fusion restaurant that i TOTALLY recommend--called Roy's.  it's a chain, so there are more around somewhere.  it's a little more expensive ($20-30 per plate) but TOTALLY worth it :) not to mention we had an awesome waitress.  worked out with my mom on sunday too--and afterwards we hit up the steam room AND hot tub-can you say AWESOME?! i loved it! so combined with all the walking that we did (we walked EVERYWHERE), i think i burned a good number of calories :) our hotel was right in the middle of everything (macy's was a block away!) so we didn't have to take a taxi once--we were even able to walk to dinner.  *sigh* a very enjoyable trip!

#1345 srd1214 Apr 16 2007 16:55
kiigan- so glad you had such a great time! the stuff you got is super cute! I'm looking into fossil bags but I'm too cheap :) what's nice about the gym I'm thinking about is they set up a chart for me for 3 different workouts telling me what machines to use and how many reps to do on each. I get one sheet fo abs, one for upper and lower body and one for a circuit training room. I'm psyched! I think that will be so helpful! I want to buy some new workout gear too so I can look semi cute at the gym... lol. not like I have anyone to impress, but it would be fun!

dj- get back on track :) you can definitely do it! I am the same too. I love to exercise, but I can't keep up with my diet!!!

v- my b/f and I try to do that. We are a little broke right now but when we do have $ we try and go out to dinner once a month. It's nice! Get away from all the people and just have some alone time... I have fun with it
#1346 kiigan Apr 16 2007 17:01
that's cool that they give you workout agendas--it's really useful if you're not totally sure what to do.  now i just have a list of all the exercises i've learned from my trainer, and the night before i go to the gym, i make a workout chart for myself and make sure i hit all the major muscle groups.  it's totally worth it to look cute at the gym, too :)
#1347 unicat Apr 16 2007 17:11
stacey - thanks :) i tried :) sounds like you had fun with the new gym..  and i bet the gain is just water weight :) and whoohoo on the butt looking more defined :) mine needs that lol.. and its cool they gave you a chart of 3 different workouts to do and how to do em, so you can switch it up :)

vicki - no biggie lol.. hope you enjoyed date night :) my husband and i need to do that, this ball is probably the first time we will have gone out alone together since we got here almost a year ago :(

dee - well did you at least enjoy your spring break?? and day 1, you can do it :)

morgan - sounds like you had an awesome weeekend :) some new clothes, new purse, new makeup and you didnt even have to pay for it all :) yay :)  sounds like you did good with walking everywhere and going to the gym both days :) yay :)

scale read 142.5 again this morning, which is okay :)  gotta get my workout in right away this morning after i get daughter to school.. gonna go out with a friend and buy some makeup then she is going to give me some pointers on how to put it on lol.. that way i dont have to spend 50 at the mac counter and worry about looking over done..  and i will have all this new makeup which i am in desperate need of, as mine is old as dirt lol..

gotta go get the teen up now..  oh joy lol..

~Brigitte~

#1348 vcooper Apr 16 2007 17:31
Stacey - thats great they gave you a schedule of what to do, I think thats half the battle.  I was like Morgan - spent most of the time trying to figure out what I wanted to do.

Morgan - sounds like a fun trip, nice bonding with your mom.  Sounds like you two are close.

We have only been married 9 months, but the date night is fun.  Keeps the romance going.  It was a pretty cheap night, we had coupons for the dinner and movies.  Saving for a house, now that my daughter is out of college, married and in her own home.  tell my son-in-law all the time, she's your's now!!!!
#1349 unicat Apr 16 2007 17:46
oh vicki, i meant to tell ya, i bet you burned a lot of calories moving your daughter into her house yesterday :)  and her first home :) how exciting :)
#1350 teenwolf Apr 16 2007 18:28
stacey - i'm glad you're enjoying the gym and taking full advantage! :)  that's really cool that they give you a work-out cheat sheet ... i tend to do weights at home 'cause i'm not sure what to do at the gym.  btw, i just went to such a hard spins class this weekend, my butt hurts!!  i'm with you as well, btw, my butt is looking better (and a little higher), but my tummy seems to be more pudgy ... i'm wondering if maybe i'm losing weight around my tummy making it look like it's sticking out again ... ??

vcoop - sounds like you worked hard this weekend, good job!  my hubby and i have recently reinstated date night.  we used to do it when we were first married, then stopped for awhile, but started again this year.  it's good to make sure to take time out for eachother!  our last date night included coupons too, we're cheap! :)

dee - you can totally get back into it, good luck! :)

kiggan - glad to hear you had such a good time!!  and how amazing to have the 8 be a little loose!  you must be a little taller than me, please say you are. :)  i'm still dreaming of an 8! :D  btw, i love fossil purses; i have two.  so freaking cute!  i also got a new workout shirt this weekend.  i was hoping to find more, but target didn't have as much as i was expecting ...

my weekend was good ... it was nice and relaxing.  as for workouts, friday i did the firm cardio sculpt (mostly weights) for an hour with some cardio (almost 400cal).  saturday i went to spins (i think this was my hardest spins ever - my butt still hurts), then came home and did the ab roller.  i wore my hrm during spins and it said i burned 618 calories in 55 minutes - wow!  on sunday, i was feeling a little worn out, so i just did elliptical for 35 minutes and about 340 cals, so i felt good about that.

thursday and saturday i had maintenance days this week ... no biggie since they weren't overage days and all other days were defecits.  my scale was simply RUDE to me this morning though.  it read 144 even though it read 141.5 yesterday morning ... rude!  that's ok, today's not a weigh-in ... it just better be kinder tomorrow! :)

tonight, my friend and i are going to attempt to run a hike we normally walk that's pretty hilly.  we both agreed to be cool and slow down if one of us needs to (and potentially just walk hills), so we'll see if we make it through or not.  she's not normally a runner so i was surprised she was willing to give this a shot with me.  maybe my insistence that i'm a slow runner helped ... LOL!

sorry for the book, this looks more like a journal entry!
#1351 vcooper Apr 16 2007 18:31
yeah its so funny to see her grown up, walking around her own house yesterday.  She married a great guy with a wonderful family.  Sorry going on and on, can you tell she is my only one??????  : - )  very proud of her.

She is soooo much like me, its scary.   they guys were just dropping boxes in the basement no rhyme or reason, and I knew it was bothering her.  So her and I went downstairs while everyone was upstairs helping to install new things they had bought.   We organized all the boxes, moved then to the appropriate place even made space for them to sit in the basement/family room.  They are paintng the entire upstairs so thought it would be easier to have the furniture downstairs for now.  But she hates clutter as I do, so this gave her some place to get away from the mess upstairs.
#1352 teenwolf Apr 16 2007 18:35
oh, forgot to mention!  i went to longs this weekend and was looking at protein drinks.  i saw that special k made this "protein water", has anyone seen this?  50 calories and 5g of protein ... looked kinda cool ... have to wonder how they taste.  i'm thinking i might go buy a couple to drink after i work out.
#1353 vcooper Apr 16 2007 18:35
Tina - those da** SCALES!!!

I wish the weather would break around here, I would love to get out and hike.

Yeah the date nights are good.  We are cheap too.  We have an entertainment book for our area, so we have been using it.  Has saved us quite abit of money and we get to try new places.
#1354 srd1214 Apr 16 2007 19:19
teenwolf- the same thing is happening to me! lol! It's like it's all just relocating or something. Also, when my chest was bigger it made my waist look smaller, now that the chest is getting smaller, my waist doesn't look as small, even though it hasn't changed! lol... crazy body... the protein drink sounds like a good plan! The spins class sounds fun! They were starting one when I was leaving the gym yesterday... I was a bit jealous! they have an intro class next month for a 1/2 hour I might go to. See if I like it before I commit. I think I'm going to stick with this gym though, I really like it!

v- I want to invest in one of those entertainment books... but I'm too cheap to spend the $30!!! lol... maybe one day! you sound like you have a great family and a great relationship with your daughter, I can see why you are so proud!

kiigan- very exciting about the sizes! I'm in the same boat... I'm trying on 6's and they are bit snug. I don't buy a lot of clothes so the last ones I bought in a 6 so I'd have something to work towards! Plus, they are shorts and capri's so I won't be able to wear them out for a while anyways! Stupid weather...

I don't have time to look at everyone's journals... hopefully tomorrow!
#1355 vcooper Apr 16 2007 20:08
Stacey - we say the same thing every year about the entertainment books, is it really worth the $30, we always buy one.  It is worth it, but then you have to use it !!!!!!!  which unfortunately costs money - can't win!

My goal is 10 more pounds before I buy any clothes, I can't wait.  But the scales aren't helping me any, kinda like you guys - what gives???

those spinner classes look hard.
#1356 kiigan Apr 16 2007 20:18
i'm busy again today! i will actually probably be on more infrequently in the coming week and a half cuz the office is gearing up for our move. so this week i'll probably be boxing stuff up upstairs and hauling it around.  plus side = more calories burned and i get to wear jeans!

brigitte--hope the workout went well! i skipped mine this morning, so am planning on a jog once i get home.  that's cool you found a friend to help out--always a bonus!

vicki--my mom and i started getting pretty close once i went to college. she works where i went to school, so i'd visit once in a while. we get along well and have a good time so it works out :) plus i play golf with her and that always scores brownie points :) it must be fun seeing your daughter on her own, too though.  and as far as scales, i think we're ALL at that point where weight loss gets really hard :) so we're all in a very similar boat, LOL :)

wolfie--that spins class sounds killer! 600+ calories in ONE HOUR?! wow! i'm afraid of the spins classes, LOL--i'm so afraid i'd just look like an idiot :) i'm 5'4.5" (although last time at the DR they told me 5'5").  but i carry a lot of weight in my thights, so if a dress is more flowy or a wider cut around the legs i can fit into smaller sizes than i can in pants. i really like fossil watches too--i've only got one though :( good luck on that run today! so cool! i'm planning on about doubling the usual length of my run, so i'll need to pace myself quite a bit :) and never heard of the special K drinks--i tend to dislike flavored water so i stay away :)

i was bad and skipped my workout this morning, so i'm going to try and go for a run after work.  a long one :) i called a few temp agencies, and so hopefully something will turn up.  a couple required at least 2 yrs of experience (don't have it), and another was just for grunt work (not really my thing). but another said they do a lot of work with college students for summer so that's a plus. i think i might just make the rounds at retail stores and see who's hiring summer workers.  hopefully find SOMETHING! :)
#1357 vcooper Apr 16 2007 20:39
Morgan - my daughter and I use to fight like cats and dogs before she left for college.  But after her first year away, things changed - she and I really grew close.  She wrote me the most beautiful poem on the day she got married, I still cry when I look at it.

at least you are getting an early start on some of the other college students, before they get out of classes.  what a bummer, to have to look for a job..

Spinning just looks really hard, at least the class I saw at our local rec center.  My rear always hurts after riding bikes anyway, can't imagine doing that.
#1358 unicat Apr 16 2007 20:39
yup the workout went well, only had to stop a couple times.. (phone, and getting the 3 yr old, who is going to be 4 in just 9 days, oh my, to leave the kittens alone, lol)  but got through it fine :)  showered and waiting for my friend to show up (shes the one that called, said she was running late lol)...   i am sure with all the packing up and moving boxes around you will burn quite a few more calories then you normally do :) so dont wear yourself out too much pushing harder with your run tonight..
#1359 unicat Apr 16 2007 20:40
i was my mommys good child til i got into my late teens, then i got kinda rebellious for a little while, but i think we are much closer now then ever before :) now my teen and i are going through h***, he thinks the world is against him, when all we are doing is trying to help him.. :(
#1360 kiigan Apr 16 2007 21:08
yeah...although it's not THAT much of a head start because the university in town gets out in like a week or smtg.  but everyone else won't be back for a while. thankfully.

my sister was the rebellious one :) we didn't always get along of course, but she was much more of a handful. although i guess in kinda different ways--my parents are very christian and although i didn't like completely rebel against the faith, it's much more important to my sister.

i am feeling SOOO blah right now. BOO. just want to go home and take a long long nap. ugh.  oh well! power through! :)
