Congratulations on the goal!  I am just beginning this site (approx three weeks so far) and am hoping to keep in touch and gain motivation.  My usual problem is that I start off well and then phase out due to not having the "buddy" in place for motivation.    I am at 5'8" and 341 right now.  This is the highest I have ever been.  I have lost nine pounds but am starting to slip again.  My biggest problem is coming home from work, which is STRESSFULL, and then just binging before bed.  Trying to increase the excercise but I wear braces on both legs and cardio is a bear.  Hopefully, this is the first step to following through.

Hello!

How is everyone doing? It sounds like you are all doing great.  I haven't been exercising as much lately.  But I did take the dogs for a good run and even ran with them.

Is there a better part of the day to exercise? Does it really matter? I think I will use the recumbent bike tonight for a bit.

Is everyone still eatting all of their veggies?  I found out last week that I really like a baby spinach salad.  I have it with an oz of cheese, celery, and a raspberry dressing.  Its really good and as long as I don't go nuts with the cheese, its low in cals.

Have a good day everyone!

Julie

Good job Sara on the weight loss. Glad to hear you are back in the 180's Happy Dance for you (((((((((((((((((

Welcome territate What kind of job do you do? I think we all have a problem with nighttime eating. Try making a list of other things to do or buy some healthy snacks and get rid of all the bad food  I have a lot of health problems that make it difficult to exercise. Just do as much as you can.

Julie try it with a few raspberries or sliced strawberries and slivered almonds. For years I never new you could eat spinach without cooking it.

Exercise the part of the day when you have the most energy. For me it is the morning. If I exercise in the evening I have a hard time getting to sleep.

Thanks Lora and Terri! Cool

Julie, I have heard its best to work out 20 min right before you eat after each meal, but who can do that? not me, I tend do to it in the morning so I can get it out of the way. I have been better on eatting veggies not as much as I should but better then beforeSealed Enjoy your workout and keep eatting your veggies!

So how is everyone doing this weekend anyone going to any superbowl partys?with all the tempting foods! We're having a lil one with the kids and I got all good stuff like shrimp, whole wheat crackers, salsa, homemade quacamole dip. That way I wont eat bad Smile and hot wings for hubby and kids(I hate them!)

Have a great weekend everyone!

Ok, here's the good news I lost 2 more pounds for a total of 6! The bad news is we bought a new scale and I weighted more that I thought I did.  But I have still lost 6.  So Instead of being at 254 like I thought, I am at 262.2.  Is anyone confused yet?  I know that I am.  But its just a number and in a few weeks the number will slowly drop.  I can do this!

With the help of all of you!

Thanks!

Julie

Throw me into the mix.  I'm 27, 260 pounds, 5'8".

I'm married with a 4-year-old daughter and an (almost) 3-month-old son.  Guess what I'm trying to do - Lose that post pregnancy flab and everything else that I had before it!  Most counters suggest me at 140, but my goal right now is to get to 200 and work down from there!  Yell

#1350 sarahrip Feb 07 2008 15:46

#1352 territate Feb 09 2008 19:24

Lora- I am a social worker in a home for the mentally ill.  So basically I come home and my brain goes numb.  Much to my husband's delight.  Added to the fact that I have had a respiratory tract infection the last four weeks and I'm suprised he hasen't taken a winer camping trip! :P  On the good side, I have now officially lost 11 pounds which puts me under 340 for the first time in a year!  Small victories.  I am enjoying the looser pants.

Julie, as far as the spinach salad, I too have discovered the delights of uncooked spinach this year.  I also like to add a few sliced water chestnuts and walnuts with a balsamic vinegar.

Sara- Congrats!  Keep up the good work!  I am supposed to get to 148 but will be thrilled if I can make it to 200 lb.  That will put me at 153lb loss and as small as I have been since 8th grade.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

#1353 darky1972 Feb 09 2008 21:26

I would like to join in please! I need all the encouragement I can get!! I am 5ft 4" and weigh 206. I have been doing this for a month now but only been here for about 3 weeks. I started at 211 so I have lost 5lbs so far but my last weigh in for the month is on Monday.

I am just watching what I eat and making sure I eat enough through out the day as starvation mode scares me more than the weight lol. This site has been ace keeping me on track!

Take care everyone!

#1354 jc1972 Feb 09 2008 21:41

May I join? I just found this site today and I am impressed by it. I am 5.3 and 239.2lbs. I went to a nutritionist on Tuesday and have been counting calories all week. Today has been the worse so far, but I am really liking this. I lost before on weight watchers but can't work it anymore. Needed a new plan and I think this is definately it.

#1355 territate Feb 12 2008 18:12

Welcome JC and Darky!

Feeling healthy again and back on track!!  Finally got my brother to try eating more healthy.  He tried whole grain pasta and salmon so far.  Later is eggplant and more steamed and broiled food.  Now I'm getting into the maintenance part and enjoying it!!  Haven't craved sweets in a week!!!

#1356 mchulie Feb 14 2008 01:53

Hello everybody!

As of yesterday I am down 12.2 pounds in 3 weeks.. I hope I can keep this up.  I have caught my sons cold and haven't gone walking in a while.  I need to get back into exercising.  Although I have been doing some weigh training and it feels like I have stomache muscles, if only I could see them lol.  I have discovered that I like to eat or drink a smoothie that has a banana, a few strawberries and half a cup of vanilla yogurt.  It is really good and very filling!  The recipe I had also called for orange juice, but I didn't like the flavor of it!  I hope everyone is staying cold free and still eatting their veggies.

#1357 lorabear Feb 14 2008 12:52

Hello Everyone

This post has been really slow lately.

Good Job Julie! The smoothie sounds good right now. I haven't eaten breakfast yet.

Still eating the veggies but I need to go back to posting when I eat them because I sometimes forget to eat what I am suppose to. Does that make sense?

Lora

OK Hubby bought box of chocolate for valentines. Nice thought, you have to love him UndecidedWhat do I do with them? I can't throw them out.

Lora

#1359 mchulie Feb 15 2008 00:51

Hi Lora!

You can freeze chocolates, I freeze them all the time.  Have one when you really need one and it takes forever to eat when its frozen.  One here and there won't hurt.  Its not like you are going to gobble up the whole box.  Remember one pound is 3500 extra calories.  I ate 3 lindt chocolate truffles today.  I needed them! I crave chocolate at that time of the month.  If I didn't get to eat it I would have gone mad!

Hi All.

I'd love to join this group. I've been reading over some of the posts, and everyone is so supportive. I love this site! Too bad I didn't find it sooner - but I believe that I am exactly where I'm supposed to be.

I look forward to conversing.

Tonya
