Clean Eating Challenge

Ok, there seems to be a mysterious condition going around that is causing sabotage to our eating. I know I'm not alone here when I admit that my eating this past little while leaves a lot to be desired, causing slight weight gain after such hard work to lose it.

I also know, that I am the same person who was practically flawless in my eating for like almost 90 days straight, so I know I can get ahold of this - who's with me?? 

There is no deadline for sign-ups, anyone can join at any time!!

All you have to do is check in once a week (at least) & let us know how you're doing. If/when you "cheat", simply let us know & I will restart your start date.

A cheat is defined as whatever a cheat would mean to you personally, whether it be going over your calories, bingeing, not eating enough, too many treats, etc. We all know when we've cheated, so just be honest with yourself

Let's be honest with each other & keep each other eating clean k? The PRIZE to the winner? Well that's easy - weight loss!!!!!!!!! (or maintenance for those at that stage!) Let's do this!

If you lose your mind & cheat, just let me know. Then you can re-start from the next day. I'll simply unbold your name, along with updating your new start date.

After being clean for a week after a re-start, I'll re-bold your name. So you always have a chance to feel like you are succeeding. 

Also, if you just don't feel like you want to partake in the challenge anymore, can you let me know so I can remove your name from the list? Thanks!!

Anyone not checking in for one week (December 25 - December 31) will be removed from the challenge.

I'm still eating clean..

I'd like to add one more component to my clean eating starting today. I have this feeling I'm not drinking enough water.. and that is causing some dehydration and sodium retention.

So from today on I have to finish my water jug (at least once a day) in order to qualify as clean :D..

I feel more accountable now that I've told you folks about it.

I hate to say it but  I need another restart!

I have only posted on one other thread and just started trying to find some other good ones and this one is perfect.  I think this is a great idea.  Since there is over 130 pages I hope you don't mind I don't read back through it all and for the most part just start here.  Will you add my name to the list please.  What day of the week should I be checking in? 

I am going to state what I am going to consider cheating as of now so that I don't try to convince myself that I was not bad when I know I was.  I may change to more strict rules later but I am not ready just yet.

Cheating to me is 

1-Not keeping track of my calories every day

2-Not working out at least 4 times a week 

Things are still awesome here! Still clean with 3 days behind me & well on the way to 4! Yay! in 3 more days I get to be re-bolded! woo hooo!

Down a total of 5.8 lbs from 4 days ago. TOM is here but I'm not gonna let that stop me! I plan on seeing more be gone. I am at 155 right now & have 20 lbs left till my goal of 135. 20 lbs?! that's easy right??? I just have to keep telling myself that.

cerhiunnhn- I dunno why your weight would go up with more cardio, it's gotta be somethign else. Cardio will burn fat. maybe just some natural fluctuation right now or has it been steadily climbing?

nancy- that's what this group is for. For you to just be honest with yourself & know when you're slipping up & recognizing it. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. I'm sure you'll do great this weekend!!

msrood- welcome! & you don't need to read back. It's an ongoing challenge so people come & go. It's really just a challenge with yourself. To keep your eating in check ( i.e. being accountible for over eating, binges,  slip ups, etc). You must check in at least once a week. the Week runs from Monday to Sunday. Every monday I go through the past week & delete anyone who has not checked in. If you need a restart, jsut let us know, I will unbold your name & change your date. Then after 1 week of clean eating you get re-bolded. Also , if you ever want to be removed, jsut le t  me know. Good luck!
ok I made it through yesterday and just barley too,but I made it. I also think something that i ate yesterday was bad. cuz i cannot keep anything down today. so i guess today will be another clean day by default.

Excellent weigh in day for me today for the september weight loss challenge. Last week I was up 1.4 lbs, today I am down below the start weight! yay!!!

Eating's going great. I love how the more successful days you put back to back, the easier it becomes.

mabear- yay girl! you are doing great now! Sorry you're feeling a bit icky! hopefully it passes soon :)
I think it ended up just being a fluctuation, it only lasted for 2 days.  Phew!  It had me worried for a bit!
ok day 2 still within my cal range but still not feeling right in the tummy areaFrown. Havn't exercised yet Embarassedbut I seem to be eating just enough to still have a decent deficit . Hopefully tomorrow i'll be full strength again.Laughing

I love this challenge and want to join. Clean eating to me is:

1) staying within my calorie range

2) logging my calories

3) drinking at least 12 glasses (96 oz) of water per day (this one is gonna kill me!)

4) not indulging in slandering myself with negative thoughts about my body, and

5) walking a minimum of 30 minutes 3 x per week.

Can I check in  next Monday since I'm starting tonight? Or do I need to check in tomorrow?

Ok did not count calories yesterday  but think I did ok? I guess I will restart just to be sure... I need to keep track those calories have a way to sneak up on you when you are not looking :)

clean! how am I in third already? Woah :)
I know I just started on Friday so I don't need to check in yet but I really proud of myself for the week.  I got to the gym 5 times and I always put everything on my calorie log!!  It has been a long time since I have done that good in both areas.  I had got back up to 153 and now I am 148.5. I am sure some was water weight but I know some was fat as well so good job to me!!

mrsrood you can check in any time! This is not just a check in board, but more of a 'im struggling' or 'yay i did it!' area. i come in here every once in a while just to jump up and down :)

you're doing awesome. keep up the great work.

 

Dee - I'm down to 151.2!!!! Heck yes. Thats a total of 143.2 pounds lost. 4 more pounds until I'm officially half of myself. I'm all excited :) I'm going to go and try on some size 6s. I don't think i'm quite there yet, but my 8s are getting lose. La la la :)

AFter tomorow I can be re=bolded - yay!!! that means one whole week good! & the scale proves it - yay for my scale!! I love it! I feel so great, I'm back to running & my muscles are getting hard again from the workouts. WHy did I ever stop?

linnieom- if you didn't count calories but think you 're still in your allowable range, I'd say you dont' need a restart. If you think you went way over or binged or something, then ya,I'd restart. But sounds like you did ok. Let me know if you want me to restart.

alison- 3 whole weeks?! that's awesome girl!!!! Keep it up! that's an amazing achievement!

melinda- you're in third cuz you're super-human girl! lol! & way to get to 151.2! that's super cool! & 8's getting loose is awesome. I hope my final size is a 6. I have 8s now but my butt & thighs are still pretty big, so I should be able to drop at least one more size in 20lbs, dont' you think?

mrsrood- oh you can check in as often as you like. It just has to be a min. of once a week. & especially with great news like that! way to go girl!!!! congrats!
