I'm looking for a 130/120 club, but I don't see any topics started.

If anyone knows of the proper topic, would you mind letting me know?

Thank you :)

Heather- Sorry to hear about the infection! I've heard those are pretty painful. You do need to get on meds asap. Also, as for the cranberry juice, go to the health food store and get sugar-free juice. It will be horribly bitter, but much lower in calories and better for your body. You can also get concentrated cranberry in capsule form (even regular grocery stores sometimes carry it), and that might be the best option for you. Like Margo just said, try to put your focus on getting your body well, and don't worry too much about your weight. You look great, and you'll have plenty of time in the future to concentrate on reaching your goal weight. Good luck!!

Margo - Great to see you back around here again! I'm glad you're feeling better, and congrats on your first day in your new place! How exciting!

How's everybody else doing? Anybody else still in school and drowning under the weight of finals right now? I can't wait to be done with college! Only one more week! And guess what? This morning I was 129 on my scale...that was my goal for graduation, the one I didn't think I could reach in time! Woohoo! Thanks for all your encouragement, guys.

Jen, thanks lol I forgot I could look in your profile.

Heather, sorry to hear about that too! Wonderswhy beat me to it, but there are cranberry pills that you can take. A doctor recommended them to me when I had a UTI. They turn your pee red, but they do work. Hope you feel better!

Margo, wow 2 weeks of sickness, that must have been hard! I hope you're feeling better now, and congrats on moving in! I bet you can't wait to get settled in.

I finally hit 121 today! Yay, a downward trend. I just hope my scale doesn't decide to jump back up to 123 on Wednesday, just to spite me.

Thanks girls :]

I guess I should have more positive thinking :]

Yeah maybe I should get those capsules so then I aint drinking like 1000 calories worth of juice. HAHA. Your right about the drink 1/2 water and 1/2 juice this morning i woke up so dehydrated so I am doing that today.

So when I do get back to exercising do you think its okay to do like Tues, Thurs & Sat my workout days like Cardio+Pilates instead of mon.wed.fri being pilates and tues.thurs.&sat. being cardio.

Will I get the same results you think? I think that doing it everyday is just too exhausting and time consuming. I like to come home from nine hours worth of school [ i go to an auto body school so usually i am working on cars but even being in the class room seems exhausting! ] so when I come home I just want to relax you know? So I was thinking I could just do them on Tues & Thurs during the school week instead of all 5 days and then on saturdays I will do it too.

Heatherx33 - Glad you are working at getting better and finding the best 'cranberry' options for you. :D

My lil' opinion....since you are going to school...for something physical like auto body...and even if you weren't really....just try to work in the schedule that works for you from week to week or day to day.

However you are able to get in the workouts for the things you enjoy is the most important.  The only advice I'd think someone else can give you is to mention not to over do your strength training by doing it back to back or by burning yourself out by doing too much (with your schooling too).

I have found, for me anyway, that if I try to plan my workouts too far in advance, life gets in the way that makes me have to adjust those exercise plans and I get frustrated.

Good luck! :D

Wonderswhy - Thanks! I am certainly trying...getting back on the forum and getting better. :D Yes, 1st night in my new place should be fun....though tiring b/c we still have a bunch to do tonight. Oh well..hehe. :D

Congrats on the 129 lbs. too! :D Good luck with your finals too! :D

Sauciedj - Yeah, 2 weeks of being sick really sucks..haha. Thanks for though! Yes, I am looking forward to getting settled in to my apt. and getting back to the gym actually. :D

Very awesome for the 121 lbs.! That's great!! :D

Ttyl ladies!

Hello Ladies,

It has been a while since I logged on, but I lost my internet connection at home and I am too cheap to pay for it, so today is the first day that I have logged on in several weeks from an internet cafe.  I hope you are all doing well!  I miss logging on everyday and seeing the progress of all you ladies.  Well, I just wanted to also let you know that I have been keeping up with my diet and exercise.  Even though things have been a little hectic, I weighed in at 125 today!!!  I can't believe it, I finally reached my goal and I think I could lose more.  So, my previous goal was to get to 125 by July for my 10 year reunion, but I am going to modify and say 123 by July.  I will check in when I can and let you know of my progress as well as check in your progress.  It's good to be back :)

Hi you guys!

Collins - It's good to see you back here!

Heather - Why again are you complaining about drinking one of the most healthy liquids of all time?!  Girl you need to drink it and keep on drinking it.  Who cares about how many calories are in it!!  I agree with the sugar free stuff, always buy 100% fruit juice.. no added sugar and you are good to go, how on earth could that be bad for you.  Holy Cow.  Hope you feel better soon :)

I weighed in at 127 again this week at one point :) maybe I'll be there on Wednesday too!!!

I have a question for you guys.  Last week I woke up early and ran in the am, it was nice... kinda.. but not very realistic, I'm still in the I-hate-running-in-the-early-morning-phase.&nb sp; I was wondering if I took a walk instead would it still be beneficial for me?  I was thinking about walking my dog for 15-30 minutes in the morning as opposed to running.  Would I still get some benefits?  Will just walking do anything?  I do run in the evening three days a week already but I want to do a little bit more.  Will it increase my endurance?

I'm not sure how much it'll increase endurance unless you are talking about very brisk walking, but I would say absolutely it would be beneficial.  It gets your metabolism and cardio going and you'll probably feel more energized throughout the day.  Also, if you make this a habit, eventually you may work up to running in the morning.  I say go for it!
Collins -- congrats!!!

simi-  Anything that gets your blood moving is good for you.  and the best is the kind you actually do.  So go for it your doggy will likely be forever grateful.
Wow!  It sounds like everyone is doing well. :-)  I haven't been on the computer this weekend or weighing myself or even thinking about weight loss because I ran my first half-marathon yesterday so I've been eating at maintenance.  Reading everyone's little success stories is helping me believe that I really can get into the 120's.  Thanks for the inspiration and way to go!

Yay Ingrid!  I'm always amazed at people who can run marathons, or even half marathons, it's still lots of running!  Big congrats to you :)

Tomorrow starts the new week!!  I'm hoping for a number near and or around 127, actually... I want that to be the number.  My weight drops like a stone in thick thick mud... sinking so slowly you wonder if it's moving at all.

Update :)  I've added red wine to my diet, anyone else into this?  I've heard the benefits, and I'm not a heavy drinker to say the least, but I have about... half a cup full.. maybe a whole cup (not goblet, measuring cup guys... sheesh!) at night before bed.  Supposed to be good for your heart, plus I like the idea of being a wine connesure :)

Is it normal to some days be super strickt on what I eat (or try to be) but on others not even care at all?  There are days (esp. week days) where I watch what I eat pretty carefully, at least for me.  Then on the weekends I don't even care about thinking about food, it's whatever I'm hungry for.  I guess what I'm saying is I don't like this whole 'watching what I eat stuff'.  It's a struggle for me.  I guess I'm just venting, I seem to be the village venter for this forum :)

Ahhhmygod me too. I was about 138 for about 3 months (I'm 5'7"), and now I've dropped to 135. Back in October and during summer, I was 125-128 and had been for a year! I don't know what happened, but I had a huge weight gain in about November (Thanksgiving and Christmas food?) and it's just stayed on since then. ugh. A few months ago I got a virus and lost about 5 pounds suddenly and felt wonderful despite the fact that I was sick, hah. I realized that I really wanted my old body back and I decided I needed to lose some weight. Now my goal is 125, but I would be satisfied with 130. My only real goal is to look great in a swimsuit ;]] haha

wassup, kari? Wink welcome to the 130/120 club! and the 5'7 club (there are 4 or 5 of us now!)

I have to second the "Yay Ingrid!" because I too am impressed by a person who can run. I have never been a good runner. Well, not since third grade. I did have one stellar moment in third grade when I chased the cutest boy in the class across the playground, snatched his hat, and took it back to the girls as my "trophy."

Ahem. If Simi's the village venter, I must now be the village babbler.  I can't even remember what I was going to post about...

As for the red wine, I do like wine, and a glass before bed was the only way I made it through comprehensive exams a couple months ago. It's a nice way to relax (although not one I'd want to be dependent upon, of course). My problem is that my favorite wines are usually the fruity white/blush ones that don't have the same health benefits as reds. Another thing that keeps wine out of my life is that I'm pretty sensitive to wine that's gone corky or just stale. So whenever I open a bottle I feel like I have to finish it in three days. And that usually leads to me drinking alone, which makes me feel like a loser... Tongue out

On that note, I'll end the babble. Wish me luck with my last final paper! I'm totally lost and clueless and stressed out and hopeless about this one. I hate having to write about things I don't understand... Cry

Happy Monday all! :D

Again, welcome back Jennifer! :D Hope to hear more from you when you can get to the internet. :D So proud of you for reaching your 125 goal! Good luck and wishing you well for your July goal and maintaining your healthy habits! :D

Simi - Congrats at the 127lbs! :D I agree, walking and/or running are both good for you. :D Just moving and getting your body active is good for you..and yes, your doggie will love the walk time as well. :D

Red wine.....I'd say, a little is okay, just try not to make it a constant habit...hehe.

I have to say, you're not alone w/ the whole idea of watching what you eat all the time. It is a huge struggle for me as well.  Though just trying to stay conscious (sp?) of what you eat (even if it's not the most healthy)....is a step in the right direction.  For me, this whole entire thing of exercise and paying attn. to what I eat is a struggle.....I haven't been a 'healthy' person most of my life...so this year and last have been a yo-yo time for me to really get into a 'health' routine.

Though keep up your great work, Simi, and the rest of you ladies! Everyone is doing so well!

Congrats Ingrid on the half marathon! I'm not much of a runner at all....so I too think it's fantastic that one can do a half or full marathon. :D Great job!

Wassupkari - Welcome! :D I too have a swimsuit goal! I'm at 131 right now, but we'll see what happens in these next few weeks.  Keep up with your positive attitude. This forum is really great...the ladies here are fantastic! You'll fit in just fine! :D

Wonderswhy - *Good luck* on your final paper! :D I hate writing papers on stuff I don't understand too. hehe. I majored in English in college...lots of papers and books.  *Though pardon any spelling errors....* You'll do great I'm sure! :D

As for the babbling..haha....oh I think I have you beat on that...:D Though I don't mind the venting or babbling on here...cuz I do it often enough myself. :D I mean hey, if you can't babble, vent, discuss, etc. on this forum....then what the heck!? It's what we're here for! :D

I hope to get back to the gym, even if it's just a couple days this week, since my being sick and stuff.....

Well, ladies, have a great day!

Ttyl.

Wow i feel like a slacker at posting compared to you girls:) Congratulations to everyone's accomplishments!

I had to comment on the "not always watching what you eat, and being strict on other days." My weakness are the weekends! I work 13 out of 14 days so I don't get to do much for fun during the days. My "fun" ends up being going out to eat, or drinking with friends. I ate out 3 times this weekend! I usually am not that bad, but i had a graduation party and just didn't have much for food in the house. The fact that i haven't lost much weight mgiht be a hint that my weekends are sabotaging me! It's sooo hard to eat right on the weekends.

Does anyone else have this problem, and what do you guys do to avoid it?

Weekends are so tough for me too!!!  I swear every Monday the scale is up 1-2 pounds!  I'm sure it's key to why my weight is dropping so S-L-O-W-L-Y.  I definitely tend to eat out more, and eat more processed foods (mac n cheese, hot dogs, etc.).  It's hard not to.   I really don't like to deprive myself of my favorite foods...or miss out on any fun (going out, having a few drinks)...it makes me irritable.  :)  So I just chalk it up to being my break from calorie counting, and just try to be aware of how many calories I'm eating, exercise portion control tactics, drink LOTS of water, and shoot for maintenance.  *sigh*

Simi- I think a glass of red wine (I believe white also has some good benefits) is a great idea.  Plus it just feels classy. :-)  Nice job on 127!

Wassupkari - Welcome to the forum!  I just joined up last Wednesday, but it's been great so far.  It's nice to have other people around who are in the same phase of weight loss.

Wonderswhy - I hope that your paper writing goes well!

Do any of you have advice for what to do when your weight finally drops a little?  I don't usually get to this point because I normally drop to 130, then start bingeing, and gain the couple of pounds back.  Today I weighed in at 128.8, which I haven't seen for... maybe a year and a half or two?  And it certainly wasn't there for longer than a day.  I was really excited, but now I'm paranoid of seeing the number go up and am afraid that if it does I'll just eat everything in sight out of annoyance!  For those of you who have finally dropped into the 120's how did you maintain perspective without going nuts?!?

Gosh, I am going through this same thing... I havent posted on here for days and its because I have felt like crap because I havent been watching my calories and eating out these past few days.  It all started with the night I went to dinner with my friend and we went out drinking:( Now my weight is back to the normal 135. I know its the choices I make but I just feel stuck and sometimes I lose hope... but I need to keep pushing through and keep trying. That's why I am here to have all your support. Yesterday my husband and I went to the pool and I wouldnt even take off my tanktop. I dont want to be that person. I want to enjoy the sun and not worry about how I look...

Yay for red wine and feeling classy! :)

arose32 - I don't think I am alone when I say that there is no way you should feel ashamed to take off your tank at the pool.  Do you know how awesome it is to just be as small as you are.  I completely understand you wanting to lose a few pounds, I'm in this club too, but at the same time you have to understand that you're hot, your body is awesome, and you should be proud of all the good work you've done so far.

It's important to realize also that dieting doesn't work, it's a lifestyle change.  If eating out and drinking is part of your life then don't ditch it or feel guilty for indulging every now and then.  I personally take the weekend as my cheat time (I'm pretty good about not going too far overboard... minus two weeks ago!)  That way I can go out and grab a bite and not think twice about it.  You need to find a way to work those things into your life, otherwise you are going to feel like crap.

again... how could you be ashamed of your body?  You're georgeous!

Thank you Simi! You made me smile and put things into perspective... You are right about working those things that I enjoy into my life. Those are things that I enjoy and if its not all the time and I am working hard the rest of the time, then it is okay. I guess I just have to stop feeling so guilty when I do it! I have to have a more positive attitude I guess:)

Thank you, Thank you for all your kind words! =)

I hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday!
