Hey, how's everybody doing? You probably don't remember me (lol) but I am still alive. My doctor is getting the ball rolling to refer me to the Mayo Clinic for additional testing and hopefully come to a diagnosis on my lungs and pain and everything.

I had gained 24 pounds over a 2 month period, and I realized that it might be connected with a med I started taking at that time. So 2 weeks ago, I chose to stop taking it, and have lost 20 of those pounds in those last 2 weeks.

That's my update, if anyone is at all interested. If not, I'll tiptoe out quietly...

20 pounds dropped in 2 weeks, Pam? That's crazy! I'm glad you realized it was all the medication's fault and were able to stop taking it.
#1263 kateduttongillett Jan 02 2008 14:11
Hi Pam!!  its so good to hear from you!  It will be good to get meds and everything sorted!!  The Mayo Clinic is tops; they took great care of my Dad!
#1264 humorpam Jan 02 2008 15:41
I'll let you all know how things turn out and I will let you know when I go. Until then, I hope to lose some more weight, now that the medication won't be putting the weight on.

Hope its okay if I join??  I am 23 about 5'6 and weigh in at 244.  I have always been athletic so I know I will never be skinny.  But I desperatly want to be healthy and want to be happy when I look in the mirror.  I am hoping to lose about 80 pounds within the next year would be nice.  I just got married in September 2007, so my husband is joining me in this weight loss struggle.  He is wanting to lose 100 pounds , so we both have a long way to go.  We recently started working out 30-45 minutes everyday and we are counting calories.  The hardest part for me is sugar, I love sweets and end up getting headaches when I don't have sugar in my system.  So I need motivation to stay away from the sweets!!!  Good luck to everyone trying to lose weight.  Its so nice to have others to share our struggles with.

Hi Everyone!

I am sorry it has been so long since I have been on here.  I have been really good on my eating and exercising I am real proud of myself. But the only thing is it hasn't shown on the scale I am hanging in. I hope I wake up one morning and I dropped liked 5lbs that would be nice.  But I am not counting on it!

Welcome Bankskelli!

Try eating lots of fruit to get your sweet fix....natural sugars and more fiber and vitamins too! Also, ask the doctor to order blood tests to rule out diabetes as the cause of sugar deprivation headaches. Good luck, and we'll be here to cheer you on!

Just stopping in to say hello!  This forum has really died down in the past couple months. People should come back so we can all chit chat again. =) haha

Anyway, I've been back to work for 3 days now (counting today). It's tiring sitting here and typing all day. (I'm a glorified secretary according to the oh so wonderful bf). Really, it's just because my job is fairly monotonous. I haven't really weighed myself in a bit because I want to make sure I had a good week to eat perferct and clean out my system.

I haven't been exactly perfect this week, but I counted in my "sweet" calories whenever I had them. I wish people wouldn't keep Hershey kisses around because I start eating them and I don't even realize it. *sigh*

Hey guys! I'm still here, I've been popping in and checking the thread regularly. I think people stop chatting when they don't know what else to say (especially over the holidays, a bunch of us have probably gained a bit!)

Here's a question to start up some conversation: How much did YOU gain over the holidays?

I gained 2 lbs, but I'm already fighting it off...

#1270 trytobehealthy Jan 04 2008 14:09
Shoe-Actually I did not gain anything but I haven't lost either so I guess I am alright with that.

Anybody watching the Biggest Loser Couples? It was so emotional but I really liked it.
#1271 krismasself Jan 04 2008 14:24

Great to see your new photo rebecca!! Did your surgery go well? No more GB to make you fell sick or in pain??

Hey tina, good to see you also! I have a problem with that show, as most reality shows, which are no where near REAL!

You're right shoe, the Holidays did play havoc on some of us! I'm having a hard time getting back into the "heathy" routine, but I'm not giving up. After all, wedding in 4 weeks!!

Pam, sure hope the docs can find the diagnosis and plan that will set you on the right path to better health!

Yep, the gallbladder is a distant memory! =) I still get ghost pains every once in a while though, so maybe not so distant of a memory.

I actually didn't gain anything over the holidays. Well nothing real. I gained weight after the surgery but lost it all 3 days later. I actually went down one pound, which I was pretty happy about considering.

Kriss, you must be soo excited about the wedding!! I'm so happy for you! Are you getting married at the end of January or the beginning of February??  OOOh... where's the honeymoon???!

I wish I was somewhere warm. But... I heard it's supposed to be close to 50 on Sunday and Monday. Considering it's like -4 with the wind chill right now, that's awesome..... and the only reason I can tolerate Massachusetts during the winter. Unexpected warm days. =)

O.K. I will join too. If this works. I am a little new to the computer let alone this site. So any help would be great!!! I have about 75 lbs. to lose.... WOW !!!! Oh well the break is over. Time to get back on track. This too shall pass. And of course this can't be in my strength. I threw out my scale so I am not too sure about my weight. All I know is that my clothes are too tight...menopause is not too much fun and praise the Lord school is back in. I sure hope I am doing this program correctly. I know how to put all the food in and the exercise but the numbers are throwing me off. Why does the burn meter have two different numbers??? Any ideas??/ I know I need to eat no more than my daily allowance but then on the other hand my burn meter is crazy high. 1650 for calories in then 2680 calories burned yet at the end of the day I have used my 1650 in calories but of course my burn is still high. Thanks I think I am nuts.....

You talking to yourself Kate?

I see everyone is gone somewhere. Maybe they have gone someplace wonderful What do you think?

I am still lurking around here but since I went back to school I have been lazy and not doing anything else Wink

hi--i'm here too...although i don't always remember to post!

I gained a little weight and that's kept me from returning. I feel like i ought to only come when things are back on track so I can be taken seriously, but i guess it's also ok to return when things are at a low point.

probably when i need it the most...

anyone else feel the same way?
#1279 shoeofkuribo Jan 09 2008 17:47

Celestial, I know what you mean - I haven't updated my weight in the past couple of weeks around Christmas because it went up, and I didn't want to record that. But I am happy to say I was able to record a lower number today! (231)

But reading the forums, logging your calories and talking to people can be incredibly motivating, and can be just what you need to get back on track. Don't worry about anyone not taking you seriously - we're all in the same boat here, we're not judging.

Double post, my apologies.
