Clean Eating Challenge deejlb
  Apr 30 2007 22:09
Ok, there seems to be a mysterious condition going around that is causing sabotage to our eating. I know I'm not alone here when I admit that my eating this past little while leaves a lot to be desired, causing slight weight gain after such hard work to lose it.

I also know, that I am the same person who was practically flawless in my eating for like almost 90 days straight, so I know I can get ahold of this - who's with me??

There is no deadline for sign-ups, anyone can join at any time!!

All you have to do is check in once a week (at least) & let us know how you're doing. If/when you "cheat", simply let us know & I will restart your start date.

A cheat is defined as whatever a cheat would mean to you personally, whether it be going over your calories, bingeing, not eating enough, too many treats, etc. We all know when we've cheated, so just be honest with yourself

Let's be honest with each other & keep each other eating clean k? The PRIZE to the winner? Well that's easy - weight loss!!!!!!!!! (or maintenance for those at that stage!) Let's do this!

Dee

************************************************

Here's the list of all signed up & the new rules:
(let me know if I missed you)

If you lose your mind & cheat, just let me know. Then you can re-start from the next day. I'll simply unbold your name, along with updating your new start date.

After being clean for a week after a re-start, I'll re-bold your name. So you always have a chance to feel like you are succeeding.

Also, if you just don't feel like you want to partake in the challenge anymore, can you let me know so I can remove your name from the list? Thanks!!

Anyone not checking in for one week (December 25 - December 31) will be removed from the challenge.

Good luck all! People's names in bold have been going the longest or have not restarted for at least a week - way to go!!!!!!!!

I failed today and need to restart....classes started last night for me and I forgot to pack dinner tonight.  I go straight from work to class and I fell into the fast food and vending machine trap the past 2 nights :( Please start me over for the 22, thanks!

if it isnt too late i would like to start as of aug 23rd...it is great to find a place where there is someone else to report to and help me hold myself accountable!
#1205 ananda Aug 23 2007 06:03
i've messed up my diet for the last 10 days.  But I'm already at home and start again. So please restart my date to 23th and let the fun begin...:-P

Actually I've even lost a pound last week so i don't feel very bad:)
#1206 buhri113 Aug 23 2007 07:01

EDIT: I made a sandwich once I felt my tummy rumble (before midnight) and ate that while talking to my fiance and I'm just barely at an acceptable number of calories, but I'm there. Whew... that stupid vacation really threw off my eating patterns.

#1207 skinnyjordan Aug 23 2007 12:15
just checking in.
#1208 humorpam Aug 23 2007 12:24
*hangs head in shame*
I ate Doritos last night and that is not clean eating for me, so please restart me. I give up my crown.
#1209 psalm139140 Aug 23 2007 17:06

Just checking in. Managed to stay clean yesterday. :D

#1210 dalawna Aug 23 2007 18:45
Just found this challenge today and would like in on it if that's ok.  I would like to lose about 10 pounds.  I am already pretty good at exercising but my food goals are as follows:

No desserts

1200-1300 cal/day

No eating after 7pm

Very limited bread (I make homemade whole wheat bread for my family so this one is huge for me!)

It will be nice to have other people to be accountable to!
#1211 deejlb Aug 23 2007 21:59
Oh crap do I ever need to catch up. Sorry guys, it's just been sooo busy! I'll get this list updated & things will be back to normal on Sunday/Monday, K?

I've missed not checking in.

********************

rtd- I'll put you away till Oct 1, that shoudl give you time to settle in. But make sure to check in with us then, k?? Good luck!

laura- oh cool, thanks for sharing about your wrestling.

jellohead, 5000thangel, austiemg, dalawna- welcome!!! I've added you. All you need to do is report in here at least once a week. Let me know if you need a restart on your date & if you ever want to no longer participate let me know too so I can remove you. Good luck !

alison5- Don't worry 'bout starvation mode. it' takes a long long time, I believe & one or two days or even two weeks would'nt put you into it at 950 cals a day.
& congrats on the 133.8!!! wya to go!!!

5000thangel -  if you normally allow it, it is not a cheat. Your rules are whatever you set up for yoruself, only YOU  will know if you cheated, according to you. Some of us have very strict rules, some are not so strict.

foxymama - welcome back!!

humorpam- how many doritos? I mean, as long as you didnt eat the whole bag or 500 cals worth, coudl it slip by?? were you wayover cals??

Ok, all is caught up, keep up the great work all!

Dee

thanks dee=]

uhhhh CEREAL is my weakness. today i had 4 bowls and 640 calories worth. i still ate my goal of 1200cals but over half of my calories were from stupid cereal! is there any other way to control my cereal addiction rather that just throwing it out?

#1213 austiemg Aug 24 2007 01:41
Thanks for the welcome!  Gee, guess i should make some sort of pubilc goals so you guys have something to hold me accountable to (or at least i feel like you do!).  lets see...i want to lose about 20 lbs and tone-up...i am horrible about working out consistantly, and find all sorts of reasons why i dont have time.  dieting is a little easier, but...i have a HUGE weakness for sweets!  sugar is my down fall!  so here we go!

my rules for clean eating:  no processed sugar, low carbs, high protein, whole wheats, 5-6 small meals, and no meaningless snacking!  but i do give myself one meal off a week....call me a whimp!

alison5 :  the best way i have found to aviod eating the stuff i crave is to get rid of it! Sorry, i am sure that isnt what you wanted to here....but maybe you could use cereal as a reward on sunday mornings for a clean diet week?
#1214 firelily343 Aug 24 2007 01:54
Could you add me on to this? I get quite a bit of activity throughout the day so I'm allowed 1700-1800 calories a day. I allow myself little treats everynow and then or I factor in problem foods to the rest of my day to make up for the extra calories. My problem is before bed. I get up to or just below my caloric intake and then I ruin my perfect day with something stupid like juice or oatmeal right before bed.

So here are my rules:
1)1700-1800 and no more.
2) Go to the gym 3-4 times a week.
3) No food and only water for 2 hours before bed.
4) A healthy balance to my food choices.

I'm 27 and I weight 156 right now and I want to get down to 140 by about Christmas. Next goal will be 135 and I will have lost 100 pounds. Its taken me three years to get to this point but I'm really excited about it.

I appreciate the help =)
Thanks

Ok all, I've re-taken pics, measurements & my weight today. I couldn't believe the scale yesterday so I've decided that even though we've got a silly schedule right now, I have to get back at this today. So far so good, one workout done, 2 meals done! yay!

My goal is 69 days from now (oct 31) to be at my goal weight. I'm gonna need clean eating till then to do that, so I better not be needin' restarts here, right?

****************

alison- uhm, ya, throw it away. Or like I do, I eat the whole thing & then it's gone (lol!) & dont' buy more. I can't have anythign in the house that I reallylike or I do abuse it and eat it in excess. So make your "treat" item something that you don't absolutely love, or you could be setting yourself up for failure.

austiemg- thanks for letting us know :) I'm all about the sugar too, esp chocolate.

firelily343 - welcome!!! I've added you. All you need to do is report in here at least once a week. Let me know if you need a restart on your date & if you ever want to no longer participate let me know too so I can remove you. Good luck !
and btw, I think we've all done the "eat perfect all day only to ruin it at night" scenario, you're not alone here :)

Ok, I hate to say it but I have to start over...again. I have no excuse, I just havn't been eating like I should be.  To be honest I'm nervous I'm slipping and that scares me a little bit....I'm going to beat this! Please start me over for Auguest 25.  Thanks in advance
#1217 psalm139140 Aug 25 2007 00:05

#1218 foxymama1406 Aug 25 2007 01:49

#1219 talkdoc Aug 25 2007 01:59
checking in - stayed clean this week: woo-hoo!  :)  i started a new job (will be commuting 1.5 hrs 3x's/week) but very excited about the position!  i'm a bit worried about driving past multiple fast food restaurants, especially if i'm hungry or if i miss a meal (mcdonald's fries are one of my weaknesses).  any suggestions?
#1220 nitanne Aug 25 2007 02:31
Hi all- I need to update my goals and "rules."  I've decided to maintain where I am, so still eating clean...just trying to stay where I am.  Here are my rules...NO binging, eat mostly healthy foods, eat not-so-healthy foods only in moderation occasionally, work out 3-4 times a week at least...maintain my weight at around 136 lbs eating about 1600 cals a day.  I hope this is ok.  Can I still participate maintaining??
