HI! My name is Laura and i am 5-5 and 235 lbs as of today. I did weigh 240 almot 2 weeks ago. I am counting calories cuz I do not know what ele to do. When i gave birth, I only weighed 201 lbs! My son is 5(his bday is halloween). I cant believe i have put on so much lately. I have high blood pressure so I am on Diovan. I am also on protonix( for heartburn). I took myself off depo provera lat Sept and currently have the IUD, Mirena. Birth control was part of it but that is why I switched to IUD. I am taking it slow, and watching what I eat. I guess I am supposed to stay under 1700 calories and I walked 20 minutes today. I hate exercise now but I have to do it to lose weight the old fashioned Way!
if you have any suggestions, please tell me....

I got on the scale today and it said 220---20 lbs gone!!!
I am so excited cuz i weighed 225 on mon..I drank lots of water and made good choices cuz i was so bad on my trip!!

Keep up the good work and stay positive--it will come off slowly

I strted this feb 22 and 20 lbs gone from me--that 20 16 oz bottles of aquafina that I am not carrying around anymore!!

Congrats on your success! breaking that 200 is something that alot of us are working towards. You should feel so proud!!!! Keep up the amazing work.

congrats Hye!!! That must be soooo exciting! I definitely agree that you can stay in here as long as you want! We can call it the "Over 200 Club & Friends"!

Even though I've gotten 17 pounds closer to 200, I still feel like it's soo far away. I only have 18 more pounds to lose but it seems like it's never going to come off. I lost 2 pounds last week no problem and this weekI've only lose 1 pound so far. I guess it is only halfway through the week but I want to see progress! I really thought my tailbone was doing a lot better but today it is absolutely killing me. I got my vicodin though so hopefully I'm not loopy in classes haha. I am just anxious to start training for the triathlon and I already have a freakin setback. grrrrr

Congratulations hye!  I'm soooo happy for you! But I hate to tell you ... you can't leave our club ...  we count on you! I guess you'll just have to wait for the rest of us. We'll try not to take too long. :)

I am new to this kind of thing also. I posted a reply yesterday on this and it is lost in cyberspace somewhere. I am well over 200 lbs. but I can definitely relate with the feelings being posted here. I hope I am doing it right this time. I have lost 7 lbs. in a month but now I seem to have lost my steam. I still go to the gym and walk and count calories, but I have no control in the "hand to mouth" dept. and it is really upsetting me, almost feel like giving up - almost! Going golfing tonight so hopefully that will do some motivating.

barneyblu:  Welcome!  We love having new people who want to make a lifestyle change... you are in the right place and this board is always posting!!  Do not be discouraged!  You are going to do great... just take baby steps to get there.  How much do you want to lose?  What are your overall goals?  Do you have goals in place that are short term?  What is your exercise like?  WHEW tons of questions.  Do you use the journal on CC?  I love that thing!  This board is full of great people who will help you succeed in anything you set out to do!  As for hand to mouth, a LOT of people have the same problem.  Do you measure your food, organize it so you don't grab a bag but a couple or is it just "eat until full" feeling?  What is your eating style like?

Do not give up... you are only at the beginning of the race.... you can make it if you TRULY want to change your life and feel better... First things first, try drinking MORE water and less juices, sodas and caffeinated beverages.... That is always what I tell others and for some it works!  I added you to my friends so I can help!

I am with vk...don't leave us now...we will make an exception...while we might be the over 200 club, we are also an amazing group of friends...and an amazing support group for each other!  If one of us left, we would all feel like we were missing something!!  :)

Sounds like everyone has been having a good week so far.  I struggled Monday and Tuesday but got back on track today...my first two weeks in WW, I did not use more than 2 of my weekly points allowance (and I get 35 a week)...this week I have already used 14...yuck!  So now I am getting back on track...no more snacking...cheating...giving in...

Wow!  I don't know what to say except thanks.  A few of you even made me cry....soooo embarassed.  I haven't given up.  Where would I go...what would I do...just gain and get fatter and fatter and more and more miserable?  I'm still here.  Ginny and ell- you're both special to me...thanks for the comments.  Thank you all of you.  I will do this...I don't know how but at least I'm not alone so with all your help I will do this.  Weigh in is tomorrow but because I cheated and weighed in on Weds.....yes blue...I did that...lol..So now I'm only gonna weigh in next Friday.  Couldn't bear to see that number 219 again in one week.  Maybe by next friday it will have gone down.  Last week I ate between 1800 and 1900 cals.  This week coming I'm gonna try between 1700 and 1800 and see what happens.  I work hard so I don't want too much of a deficet.  I have an appointment on Monday to see a doctor that may take me on as a patient.  Finally,  Haven't had a doctor since mine left without notice last year.  Hopefully he or she will accept me and my hubby.  Maybe than I can get this all figured out.  But  I again want to give all of you a big hug for helping me through this.  Anytime I feel discouraged I will reread pages 59-61  :)

Hey all~ just joined a while ago and have paged thru and read a lot of posts.  Boy am I glad I found this one.  I am 35 and 269 lbs wanting to lose about 130.  yah, do I have a long way to go.  I am so glad to have found this website and definitely this post.  I'm not alone....  :-)  Have been trying to find something to help me with just a better way of eating, but learning how to go about it.  My doc put me on Meridia on 5/4 and I've lost 4 lbs since then.  I'm sort of worried about it because I don't know much about it, but I guess if it helps and the dr prescribed it, it can't be that bad.  Anyhow, just wanted to say hello to all and I look forward to reading on and sharing.  thx.

Well tomorrow is the dreaded scale day! Not looking forward to it. I have a feeling I may be disappointed. I usually aim for 1000 calories and never go over 1200. But I think this week I have been hitting the 1200 mark a little more than I should have. I guess to most of you that doesn't seem like a lot, but I know from experience that I won't lose anything at all if I go much over 1000 calories.  Who knows, maybe it will be okay anyway.

Good luck on all the other Friday weigh-ins!

Rmama-I'm glad to see you posting.  From my recent journal entry you know I just went through that new doctor thing.  It is hard.  I really hope it goes well.  Remember what was said before, to get positive, think positive (paraphrasing, but that was the gist of it).  :)

Hello all.  Boy it took a while to catch up on my reading!  So many new names and I'm still trying to remember everyone else's still.  This is wonderful!  I so look forward to hearing from all of you each day.  

Hang in there Rmama.  Trust me... I've seen 235-241 so many times in the past year, you'd think my scales were stuck.  But no, it's me that is stuck. 

Hye ==  I am so-o-o-o-o Jealous! and so excited for you too.  One day.... I will be able to join you too and everyone else for the Formerly over 200 club!

Well I weighed on Monday and was at 235, I had a 2 day conference and Tuesday I had about 2050 cals (C=C says this is my target) and Wednesday we don't even want to discuss.  It wasn't really the amount I ate but the calories involved.... Well over 2000, like maybe 2400 or 2500.   Not good for my weigh in at work.  I weighed today and I'm back at 239.  I'm sure hoping it is because of the salt in the spaghetti I ate.  We'll see. 

Today, 1444 cals. Walked about 1 mile last night and a mile today, then spent all evening rearranging my new computer desk and working through all the spaghetti that goes with the computer and accessories.  I feel like I've had a major work out now.

Hello, Red, Barney, Salbel, Misty, Mitzy, and anyone else that I forgot that's new.  You'll love it here.

Vk...I got interupted yesterday in my post and did not get to finish that the size 14 jeans I am going to get tomorrow will be for hanging on the wall to stare at while I am working out...I am hoping to get IN to them soon.  How many lbs do you have to lose to lose a size??? 

Yes, Today is Day 31 of my 7 weeks to get to 230...I started on day 56 at 246.5 and got to 240 so far.  It seems crazy on one hand to have only lost 6.5 lbs but then on the other hand, that is 2 lbs a week.  So that is cool...

Stats for yesterday...Thursday, Day 32, May 10, 1830 calories, 64 ounces of water, and yard work for an hour...then a nap :-)

Got a question for you guys...Yesterday I felt weird...My legs were shakey, my right arm hurt some, (nothing unmanageable) and my hands swelled up...I didn't eat anything out of the ordinary with too much salt...was kind of curious if I was eating enough or not...I am sure I need to drink even more...this morning I took off my wedding rings because the swelling was making my finger sore...I am drinking my regular coffee right now but plan to inhale a ton of water this morning...any other suggestions???

When someone used Rmama, I kept looking for someone new with that name and then it dawned on me it meant Rockinmama...LOL...I am glad you are going to continue this journey with us and that you will get a chance to see a doctor.  My husband and I do not have insurance right now so doctors are out but they have health fairs here a few times a year and you can get your blood drawn for $20.  I get to pick up my results tomorrow when I go to town to get my jeans.  I am looking forward to seeing my cholestorol (sp?), my fasting glucose level, and my triglycerides...it's no substitute for a doctor but can atleast give me clue of how things are going...

Thank you all so much for being there...I am so happy I found you guys...
