| Girls in their 20's who want to lose about 100 pounds | ||
| Jan 28 2008 19:41 | ||
| Hi, my name is Suzanne and I am 23 years old. I weigh 258.3 pounds(yikes) and would really like to get down to between 140 and 150. I was wondering if there was anyone else out there in their 20's who has about that much they want to lose. We could work together and stay motivated to reach our goals!!! Also, if there is anyone in their 20's who has lost that much and wants to share their success story, I would love to hear it! Thanks! | ||

elfkittie22- Thanks for the recognition. everyone- Don't be afraid to ask at your favorite department store what night they do their mark-downs. I found out that the GAP in my area clearances on Wed. nights, so Thurs. morning, first thing, is the best time to snag a great deal. feddiechick- Right back attcha! |

| Speaking of the Super Bowl..I pigged out a little bit. I made some queso dip with a bunch of beans (so I guess it wasn't that bad...) and tortilla chips, and two slices of pizza. Granted, that's not nearly as bad as I would have done at a football party before finding this site! | ||

Happy Monday, everyone! mladdy - Congratulations! I know nothing feels better than new, smaller pants! And thanks for the advice on shopping... I never knew there was a set day for markdowns. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately!) my closet is filled with clothes 1 to 4 sizes smaller than I am right now, so I won't get to go shopping for a while. I've just always retired a size I got too big for by putting it in the back of the closet and telling myself that when I lose weight I'll get back into all those clothes again. I've got jeans I haven't worn in like six years! elfkittie22 - Don't feel bad; I pigged out a little for the SuperBowl too. I told myself as long as I stayed away from all the dips and chips and taquitos I could have a few hot wings and a beer or two. I only had two light beers, but I totally chowed down on the wings. *Sigh* They were just so good! Anyway, I hope everyone had a great weekend! |

Good afternoon ladies! Melanie-Thanks for the rose. I never dreamed when I started this forum I would find so many people who had similar goals that I would be able to connect with. So really, I have to thank everyone who has joined this forum and opened up so we could all be in this together. I also wanted to congratulate you Melanie, on losing 23.5 pounds in January. That is amazing and I am very proud of you! Allydan, I have pants too, in size 12, 14, 16, and 18, so I won't really have to go shopping for a while either. But once I get down to a 16 or a 14, I probably will buy at least one pair of cheap pants, just for the satisfaction of it. You should too! If there is a Ross, Old Navy, or Dots by you, you can get really really cheap clothes. I personally love Old Navy most, but at Dots you can often get a nice pair of dress pants for only one dollar! I am serious....I have 3 or four pairs from there that were only one dollar. They just keep marking the clearance down until it sells. Even if they aren't on clearance, usually there pants are never higher than 20 dollars either, and the plus section is pretty trendy. I personally can't wait until I can buy dollar pants from the regular section. Everyone who dipped a little for the super-bowl, I did too, but not for the Superbowl. My mother in law turned 50 and threw herself a party. So I had a couple of potato chips, some cheese and crackers (my weakness), some macaroni and cheese, and a couple of wings. Also, I had regular coke. Oh well. I did convince my husband to join me on a 45 minute walk so hopefully that helped. Good luck girls sticking to it today! |

Quick, Suzanne and allydan, have a rummage sale! LOL I have to thank all of you who were talking about the elliptical a little while back. I got my chunky butt up there and forced myself to complete 30 minutes (that's 700 calories worth!!! OMG!). I am feeling it today, but it feels pretty good (not painful at all). Good work, Tiff (tgegogeine), a pound is worth celebrating! Have a glorious sweat at the Y tonight, and happy early birthday! Are you trying to keep a higher deficient for the days prior to your birthday? This is a great idea, as calories can be averaged out over a week, just don't tap it over the 1000 mark or dip below 1200. You'll wind up with headaches and cranky moods. |

ennazus520 - Thanks for the advice! Maybe I will go ahead and buy myself a new pair of jeans or something when I get down to a 16. Right now I'm trying to work up the nerve to see if my 18s fit and my 20s can be retired! Dots sounds awesome! I don't think we have one in Houston, but I'll certainly look! I used to love Old Navy too, but a few months ago they removed ALL of their plus size clothing from the Houston stores. When I emailed in a complaint they said they were trying to simplify their merchandising space or something, and that I could find all the plus size clothes online. Except that I actually want to try on my clothes! Grrr! I can't wait to be in normal sizes either! I hate shopping with skinnier friends in like Express or American Eagle and having the sales girls give me that look. You know, the "we totally don't have your size, so why are you here?" look. mladdy - I personally love the elliptical, so I think it's awesome that you went for it, and jumped up there! And a rummage sale is a great idea! Maybe when I've gotten down to the smallest size in my closet and need to buy new clothes anyway, I'll just get rid of everything bigger! And then go on a vacation! I like the way you think! |

Original Post by allydan: i SO know that look! i needed some motivation recently, so i took myself downtown to peruse some boutiques. as long as i stay on track, i should be out of the plus sizes by the end of this year. so i decided i'd like to look for THE PERFECT new year's eve dress now to give me something to look forward to. so i go into the first boutique, and the clothes are gorgeous. of course i know nothing in there fits me - not event the air would fit me in a place like that. so i walk in, and the sales girl gives me the up and down, and turns and walks away! and i'm the only person in the whole ****ing store! how rude! so i marched back out, determined to never shop at that boutique when i finally can fit the stuff they sell. as for old navy, they took the plus sizes out of all their stores, everywhere in the world!!! that's total disrespect, and i will never buy anything from them again, no matter what size i am. |

Alright... everyday I read and today i will jump on the band wagon!... who am I ?
I am a 26yo - 5' 2 3/4" (the little bit helps).... i am finally down to 190.... after 4 weeks of going strong and starting at 205... I hired a trainer at the gym and started to get serious. I go to the gym most nights with my size 1!!! sister and feel like such a blob even working out next to her. But all and all I need an outlet for those who can sympathize instead of my sister who is trying to get back into her size 0's ... *sigh* either way here i am .... thanks to all of you for your support thus far even if you didnt know i was reading and your weight losses are amazing! GREAT WORK |

Hi, trukngrl! How long have you been here? Funny, I didn't get the feeling that someone was hiding in the shadows! LOL We're so glad you're here, welcome. dalmalama and allydan- We probably all have stories like that, unfortunately. The only thing that makes me feel better in those situations is to think about them 50 pounds heavier, going through the same thing. But seriously, maybe they're just jealous because we can rock the curves! kimnkick- Wowser, 6 pounds is a LOT for one week! Awesome job! I also had those type of numbers the first 1-2 weeks, mostly because I was carrying around a lot of water weight. I never kept track of how much sodium, processed foods, and sugars I ate. Plus I didn't drink nearly enough water. It truly makes a difference quickly when you change your lifestyle like that. Keep it up, but don't get disappointed if you don't see those high number losses. How's everybody else been doing? Do we have any other shy people reading but not responding? You're more than welcome and accepted here. |

Hey thx mladdy!
I have been on CC for about 2 years now... first off i lost 35!!! but thennnnn.... grandpa died, change my job, and my shift, just built a house... so chaos ensued.... but that is all in the past now and i am back on the wagon! i really want to get small enough that i dont need a breast reduction.. I am a DD+ and it interfears with some of my normal activities not to mention clothing fit.... I have always had large breast even when i was a 4, and it is suprising to think i was a 4 at one time... Kimnkick - well done, you have to get the water off otherwise you carry it daily so take it and embrace it keep up the good work! |

Hi mladdy. We seem to have a lot in common. I am 27 and married with a 1 1/2 year old. I am 5' 5" and 194. I really want to get to around 135, but I'd settle for 150. I would love to talk some more, maybe help each other out. Where do you live? What have you done so far to lose weight?

hi there, i joined this site on the 21st of Jan and have been using it purely for logging my calories, (ive lost 10-12 pounds so far, dodgy scales). I'm 23, from the UK and currently 273 pounds! i am really aiming to get down to 196 pounds (this is the weight i was last time i felt confident about my body) i am a large body type so this weight ment i had a flat stomach yet still curvy. But who knows? once i get there i may want to lose more, anyway this site has me down for nearly two years to get to this first target and i would really like some support and guidence from those in the same boat as me. I look forward to getting to know all of you and supporting all of you as we take this journey together......ok, a little lame, but hey, how cool is it gonna be in a year or so to post up our new slimmer selves!!!! Good Luck! |

Hi Everyone! I am 25 years old, and from Ontario Canada. I am between 5'7" and 5'8" and weight 302lbs. The heaviest I have ever been was 306lbs in 2006 and I joined Jenny Craig and lost 25lbs. I swore I would never let myself reach 300 again, but apparently I have so I really need to do something about it this time. I'm really hoping this site will help with the weight I've been struggling with for so long. My goal is to get down to about 175lbs, but for now, I'd just like to go 10lbs at a time and feel healthier and more energetic. I think it's great that we have these forums where we can encourage eachother and share our struggles. Especially with people who are the around the same age and have similar weightloss goals. Keep up the great work :) -sonya |

Hi everyone! I hope everyone's doing well today! I'm doing pretty good, but I went out for sushi last night and kind of overdid it... It wasn't the sushi that was the problem; my friends ordered calamari as a starter and all my will power goes out the window when it comes to calamari. *Sigh* I plan on hitting the gym tonight to repent. Welcome sonini and missfaybel! |

Good Afternoon Everyone, My name is Jessica and I am 29 yrs old (almost to old for this group). I have been on this site for over 5 months but didn't really start trying to lose the weight until this month. I joined Weight watchers and have been walking. My start weight was 270.6 lbs on jan 12. I have lost 10.4 lbs and am now down to 206.2 lbs. I would like to be around 150 or 160. my short term goal is get into the 240's. I was telling my sister I don't feel like I have accomplished much until I get there because the only time I have been in the 240s is going through them to got to 250 - 260. My goal after 240s is 199 by Oct I have a wedding to go to and I don't see my Family much they live in NH and MA (I was born there) and I live in TX. I want to look a lot different to them I see them about 1 or 2 times a year. I am glad I found this thread. I hope everyone has a great week. |
