Clean Eating Challenge deejlb

Ok, there seems to be a mysterious condition going around that is causing sabotage to our eating. I know I'm not alone here when I admit that my eating this past little while leaves a lot to be desired, causing slight weight gain after such hard work to lose it.

I also know, that I am the same person who was practically flawless in my eating for like almost 90 days straight, so I know I can get ahold of this - who's with me?? 

There is no deadline for sign-ups, anyone can join at any time!!

All you have to do is check in once a week (at least) & let us know how you're doing. If/when you "cheat", simply let us know & I will restart your start date.

A cheat is defined as whatever a cheat would mean to you personally, whether it be going over your calories, bingeing, not eating enough, too many treats, etc. We all know when we've cheated, so just be honest with yourself

Let's be honest with each other & keep each other eating clean k? The PRIZE to the winner? Well that's easy - weight loss!!!!!!!!! (or maintenance for those at that stage!) Let's do this!

If you lose your mind & cheat, just let me know. Then you can re-start from the next day. I'll simply unbold your name, along with updating your new start date.

After being clean for a week after a re-start, I'll re-bold your name. So you always have a chance to feel like you are succeeding. 

Also, if you just don't feel like you want to partake in the challenge anymore, can you let me know so I can remove your name from the list? Thanks!!

Anyone not checking in for one week (December 25 - December 31) will be removed from the challenge.

well so far so good. I am getting ready to eat lunch wich is consisting of a salad and Man was I tempted even opened a bag of some chips then thought and gave it to my daughter instead. and grabbed a water bottle. Good thing I kept her home from day care cause that was a close one. worked out at 4:30 this morning and I think I'll take a little nap with Ari that should keep me outa the kitchen for a while . or at least till dinner.

*squeek squeek* is the noise my food has been makin lately. lol.  gotta love it!  There are some foods that have been callllin my name, but i've been resisting.  Dang you subway!  gotta eat at home.  3 months I dedicate, 3 monthssss.

Day 4 today! So far so Awesome!!!! Scale stayed the same, but that's ok, I've already seen a loss & felt the super benefits of eating this way. Why did I ever cheat??

Congrats to all still in it. Nobody's reported a cheat yet. Let's make sure if we do "cheat" we report it so that those who don't are the only ones "recognized" k?? Don't be embarassed, it happens to all of us, that's why we're here k??

K, k8ly , ask and you shall receive! Good idea! Cuz then we can say "I've been clean for x days"! lol!

I have put our start dates up there so we know how long we've been "clean" I guess rather than just removing anyone who "cheat" off the list we can just re-set the start date, what do you guys think?

pharmspice - sorry, you're not number 30 anymore, but 35 is good too! lol!

lisalcd17 - just eat what you would normally eat to lose weight or maintain your weight. If you eat anything you consider to be a "cheat" to you, or if you binge, then that would be what we're all trying not to do, good luck!!

helenmikolaichik- omg! That's what I do tooo! I don't go out & get something I dont' normally eat, I just eat a whole bunch of my "allowable" treats & oink out!!! Bad us!! But no more, it stops now!! Good luck!!

I think thats an awesome way to go.  Then we can continue to build this!  And after our month is up cheat clean, we should 'renew' and go at it again adding in our own little mini challenges.

I sat at lunch (at the college cafeteria) and stared at the cakes/brownies/bars/desserts... I could've taken them all, it's a buffet...  I almost took the delicious-looking piece of cake...

But I didn't take ANY!  I grabbed myself two more HUGE bowls of spinach (mmm!!)... then factored into my daily calories 1/2 a brownie for a snack.

I stayed on track because of this challenge, thanks!  You save me from myself! ;)

Yeah i'm 35 now!! woot!woot!  -- well here's my in your face (ha!) challenge of the day...at the barn we keep a big bowl of (gulp!) hershey kisses, take 5's, mini butterfinger,ect and fig newtons,for us because we are always hungry after riding...so yesterday and today i brought a bowl of cut-up fruit, and some all natural sawdust tasting cookies!!   go me !

Today I ate *gasp* half of a snickers bar.  I almost didn't eat any, but I had budgeted the calories and I wanted it.  It was SO incredibly difficult to stop at half and tape the remainder up for another day.  But... I did it and I am still on track!

poop.  i just had too many nuts that i shouldn't have had :'( i was up to where i should have been and i ate them.  i feel way too full, too.

pharmspice - Oh wow! I'm so hungry after riding too. Way to think ahead & avoid the temptations!!! You did great! & yum, sawdust cookies!! lol!

susankaye- phew! that was a close one!! Good for you for stopping at half way before. I've actually done that with a high cal granola bar before. 160 cals for one nutty granola bar is lots!!

littlefroggie- oh darn. is this a cheat for you??

Today's gone great for me. Perfect eating and I still get my big salad meal & my "treat" to eat. Can't wait. Lately I've been really "saving" my treat for as late as possible. Well not too late cuz I don't like to eat past 8 or so. But I found if I can resist it till after my last meal at 7:30, then I won't be tempted to eat extra sweet things. If I'm really craving it early in the day, I'll do what susankaye did & eat half and have the rest later in the day. It works!

Got my morning workout in and a 5K run too. If the rain stops for a bit, I'll maybe take the dogs out if the roads dry off a little. I hate when they get all wet & smell like wet dog fur. Even though they're clean little guys its' inevitable they get smelly after being wet.

Dee, I agree, this challenge, your great idea, saves me from myself! Well put! I just finished day 5 with .5 cup of lite cottage cheese and .5 of an apple! One more day....I just need to get through tomorrow, and on my plan, Sat. is my "free" day! But in the name of clean eating, I am going to plan my treats for the day, stay within a certain calorie limit and stick with it! Thanks Dee!!!

yeah, deejlb, its a cheat. im sorta pissed cuz i was doing good (up to 1200, right on time) but then ate the high cal nuts.  :( not exactly helpful, right?

I try to save my treats for as late as possible, too Dee.  When I have it to look forward to all day it helps somehow.  I tell myself, "I will get to eat it, but just not right now!" hah

Day 3:  Clean!  Oatmeal with raspberries for breakfast, banana for snack, leftover vegetable kichadi for lunch, broccoli omelet and toast for dinner.  Oh, and of course a little chocolate snack, along with some dried apricots!  ;-)  Came in at 1750 cals, 40 g fiber, 24% fat.  Let's keep it up!

WOW!!  We just keep growing & growing!!  That's awesome!!

Day #4 complete, and squeaky clean!!

Meals are all planned out for tomorrow - and no challenges facing me this weekend!

But for all you mothers out there - what are your plans for the big day next weekend???  In the past it has been a tradition to go for brunch.  I'll have to opt out this year and cook a delicious omelette at home instead!!

Let me know what you all plan to do...

Ok, I switched out my treat for the day. Instead of the Nature Valley Yogurt Granola bar, I had 10 mini charleston chews, which actually came in a bit lower in cals than the granola bar. My  hubby bought like 4 boxes of them when we went to Great Falls. I've never really had them and I kinda like them. But I wished I had the granola bar instead, its better. Oh well, tomorrow. I did have a split second there where I wanted the granola bar too, but resisted! yay me!

littlefroggie- so how many over did you go? I mean did you binge? Cuz if your target is 1200, like mine, there's some days I'm slightly over but I wouldn't consider that a cheat.  I mean unless you felt like you ate waaay to much. It's ok, I'll re-set your start day to today. Start fresh in the morning k?? Now youy can try to beat your best # of days.

lilley1199- I'll add you to the list, welcome & good luck!

aeetheri- that's EXACTLY how I think too! If I canjust keep myself busy enough then I get it eventually. & somedays I'm like, oh man, I haven't had my treat yet & then it's really a treat!

You know what i LOVE? When i prove myself powerful by refraining from a 700 calorie chocolate crossant, and instead eat a banana which makes me so much more satisfied anyway..
