HI! My name is Laura and i am 5-5 and 235 lbs as of today. I did weigh 240 almot 2 weeks ago. I am counting calories cuz I do not know what ele to do. When i gave birth, I only weighed 201 lbs! My son is 5(his bday is halloween). I cant believe i have put on so much lately. I have high blood pressure so I am on Diovan. I am also on protonix( for heartburn). I took myself off depo provera lat Sept and currently have the IUD, Mirena. Birth control was part of it but that is why I switched to IUD. I am taking it slow, and watching what I eat. I guess I am supposed to stay under 1700 calories and I walked 20 minutes today. I hate exercise now but I have to do it to lose weight the old fashioned Way!
if you have any suggestions, please tell me....

More often, when I'm stressed I'll eat little to nothing instead of overeating. It's what gives me a sense of control when everything seems out of control. I used to not eat and when I would eat I would just throw it up so I think when I'm stressed I just go back to those habits. I think that you need to just not worry about today and vow to be better next time. Unless your cat throws up again, its stuck with you!
#122 itsmytime Mar 21 2007 01:04
okay tabby---you had me laughing outloud about the cat!!!  I needed that!!!!  ohhh, Little Deb's Swiss cakes...I love them!!!  okay, it's done, forget it, and get back in it!  We are here!!!

I am a stress eater, an emotional eater, well... a eater!!!!

one step at a time, one moment ...and tabby, don't forget...you are worth it!!!  and a good thing that  really helps me:  Measure your successes, no matter how small you think they are.

For example,  tomorrow if you have a "bad food moment" , look at it and say...okay, but it's better than yesterday...plus I am still talking to my friends on c-c.com , which is something I wasn't doing a week ago.

Every change we all make towards a better us, is a measure of success.  (like in the middle of night, when I was eating stuff, then 1 cracker, then none...each step was a success...)

Does that make sense?  good luck and stay with us!!!

Oh boy you guys have been busy chatting it up eh?  I was so excited to see this thread on the first page...lol...I didn't have to go searching for it either it was the third down.  :)  Well I've been away long enough and I read back through where I had left off. Tabby- the cat story was funny but I guess it wouldn't have been much fun for you :(  By the way welcome to the Over 200 club.  We can always use more motivators on here.

So let me see, I must welcome,Tabby, eponajenna, aquade, and hrdnaussies...did I miss someone?  If I did sorry.

I've had a couple of busy days.  My husband is on afternoons so when he's home I don't get to be on here much.  Funny how men keep us so busy...lol.  I worked all day (I clean for Seniors for those who are wondering)  came home at 5 pm...had an appointment at 7:30....got home 10:30...and now I'm here.  Hubby gets home at 1:30 am and I have a hard time sleeping until he gets in.  Stuck with in my calories again today.  No loss last week so I definately need and I mean Need a loss this week.  I weigh in Friday so we'll see.

kt- Hope you're not studyng too hard.  And congrads on your loss. When are exams over anyways?  Your brain must be mush by now.  Keep smiling!  So you even managed to motivate your bf.  That's great. Makes it easier for you I'll bet.  :)

itsmytime- You'll be catching up with hubby in no time girl. :)
#126 ktcort13 Mar 21 2007 03:44

I'm surprised, I still have 250 calories for today and I'm not even hungry! hmmmm maybe some wine so I can actually sleep tonight and relax :)

#128 crystal_320 Mar 21 2007 12:21
Weigh in day was this morning.  I'm happy to report 4.5lbs gone this week.  :)  I've been averaging 2-3lbs since I started but 2 weeks ago I started taking a One-A-Day Weight Smart and drinking green tea.  Calorie intake and exercise stayed the same.  The first week after I added those 2 things I dropped 6lbs and this week 4.5.
#129 itsmytime Mar 21 2007 12:35

Total lost so far is 38.5 lbs. (Since Jan. 8) Lots more to go, I'm a big gal, but it's a nice start.  =)  Lifts my Crystal Light to you, Itsmy!  Eventually I'll learn to like plain water..really I will... /sigh.  =)
#131 valsgoal Mar 21 2007 13:13
Good morning all!

That's really great motivateme!  So proud you're doing so well.

Rockinmama...you'll get there.  You know you sound so stressed, maybe that is contributing to your standstill.  Motivateme has a good idea about the vitamins.  I was taking them for a while but got lazy to keep repleneshing the supply but I think I will go back to them to make sure my body has what it needs vitamin-wise.  Maybe that could be a thought for you too?  Watcha think?
#132 hyechong Mar 21 2007 13:14
Wow!  I've missed a lot.  We'll I am back home again and back to a normal schedule.  Monday I weighed myself and I am down to 210.  That is 5 lbs for me!  Yeah!

Welcome to all the newcomers, I'm a fairly newcomer myself.  Let's see...today makes 1 week for me at CC.  I hope all you find it as welcoming as I do here.

Over the past three days, I've been very bad and today I think I'm feeling the effects of the badness.  Last night, I had pasta with meat sauce.  This morning, I had a yogurt and a small bowl of Special K and still feeling very hungry.  I'm hoping it's just the pasta hangover.  I'm very happy to be back on a schedule!  That seems to be the most important thing for me right now.

#133 rockinmama Mar 21 2007 13:16
Just a quick good morning before I start my day.  Hubby came in at 2:30 am this morning. He usually gets here at 1:30am when he's on afternoons. :(  Needless to say,  He didn't call to tell me he'd be late cause of a guy who had broke down(My hubby is a heavy Equip Mechanic) so I was worried sick.  I can't sleep until he gets home safe...I know, I know...I'll get used to it I guess. :(  So I didn't get to sleep until 3 am.  Slept in until 8:30 this morning after a fitful not very good sleep (on and off, on and Off)  Then Balto my dog woke me and tolld me...Enough I have to Pee!  So got up took 3 pills for a migraine (Doesn't look like a good start for me today)  I work this afternoon...thank goodness only one client today.  should be home by 5.  Gotta go grab something for breakfast...hummm late breakfast this morning I see.  Hope you are all having a great Spring.....yes it's spring...lol.  About time.  Sun's out here so tht helps.  *hugs*  to all who are having a bad day like me.  Cheers for all who are doing so well....keep smiling! :)
#134 valsgoal Mar 21 2007 13:26
OMG hyechong, that is fabulous.  If you've been bad, the scale doesn't know it!  Lol   Are you going to do the paper clip with the other girls?  Throw 5 together for yourself!  I have one hanging in my cubicle here at work for that half pound from a couple weeks ago.  Lol

Good luck on your final final exam k!

Oh yeah...HAPPY SPRING!!!
#135 hyechong Mar 21 2007 13:51
Oh yes!  I'm going to do the paperclip challenge.  I'll add my five together now.  I have lots of paperclips sitting here in my homeoffice doing nothing...hhehehehe...
#136 bigteeny Mar 21 2007 13:55
Wow congrats to Motivateme, that is quite an impressive loss! I'm going to have to take a look for that Weight Smart. Are you seeing a big difference in your clothes? With almost 40 pounds gone, you probably need a new wardrobe by now.

Question for hyechong, did you start the slim in 6 yet? Just wondering how that is going. I've seen the results everyone is posting in the SI6 thread (amazing!)...it really makes me want to try it too.  I'm imagining it to be really difficult though. Is it mostly cardio type workout or more toning, light weight training stuff?

Yesterday, I took my 3 and 1 year old kids to the park for about an hour, and ended up carrying around the little one for most of the time. She weighs 18 pounds (about the amount I have lost so far) and I was exhausted afterwards. It really helped me to understand how much harder our bodies have to work, just to carry around our extra weight.  So even a small loss helps to lighten the load on our over-worked heart, lungs, bones etc....

Have a great day everyone, gotta cut this short.....stinky diapers to change!
#137 ktcort13 Mar 21 2007 16:10
Ugh...I really hope I've been holding onto some extra water weight b/c of hte stress and little sleeping this week. I need to get back into a normal schedule so I can get this freakin weight off! Hmmmmm, maybe if I wish hard enough I can wake up and be skinny! haha maybe in my dreams at least
#138 hyechong Mar 21 2007 16:23
ktcort13 - If it were only that easy, all of us could go to bed dreaming of the things we wanted and wake up with all of our dreams coming true!!  hahaha!  That's why I still go to Disneyland.  :)  Hang in there and keep making good choices.  Don't get stuck on the numbers!

bigteeny - I'll give you an update about the Slim in 6 in about three weeks.  It just arrived today and I'm excited to start it.  They sent along some information about dieting and such, nothing that we don't know already from CC but, I'm going to read it thoroughly before starting.
#139 itsmytime Mar 21 2007 17:00
wow motivateme---that is AWESOME!!!!!!  don't look at how much you have to go ...look at what you have lost!!!!!!!  I mean, look at  bigteeny carrying around her 18 pound child and was tired...BUT...had been carrying that much weight around until she lost it!!!!  and a big woohoo for that bigteeny!!!!

hyechong---congrats to you as well!!!!  5 pounds?  woohoo!!!

I made a bad lunch decision today.  I went downstairs to Target (I work in a mall office) to look for something to go with my sandwich.  I picked out a low fat creamed spinach.  I ate most of it as it's 70 calories per serving...good, right?  Yeah...I forgot to look at the sodium.  When I went to log it right now I noticed it was 520mg!!!  I had 2 servings!!!  I am so thirsty now and seeing I had a ham sandwich (low sodium, but stilll), I'm all salty.  I've already had two glasses of water and my lunch ended a half hour ago.  Damn!

On the good side (always gotta look at both sides of the coin) since I was in Target, I finally picked up a food scale.
