What are some Very VERY VERY Low Calorie Snacks???
Sometimes I just want to eat something. I am sick of baby carrots. Is there anything I can eat as a snack and not worry about the calories. I just want to chew something, and I am not a fan of gum, it makes me very hungry. So please please please suggest something I can just snack on without too much counting involved :)
miso soup packets=35 cals
i recomend the mishima brand, tasty and different, has little chunks of tofu and some green stuff comes in a few different varieties. you can buy it on amazon or the mishima website if you cant find it in the store.

I just read thru all 7 pages of replys and was suprised that no one mention Sauerkraut
Sauerkraut is 0 calories and 0 carbs. I will eat a half jar a couple times a week for a filling snack. Certain brands are more sour than others so experiment to find a brand that you enjoy.
It is hard to beat a 4 ~ 8 oz snack that is calorie free!
I also enjoy the Andy Capp's oven baked fries from the chip isle of the grocery store. You can enjoy 16 1/2 fries for only 50 calories. Thats not bad to help satisfy a cravy for chips.

I really like goldfish crackers or air popped popcorn with some seasoning salt on it. As well as cheerios. If they're good for babies, they must be okay for us!

Raw sugar snaps, 14 cals in 10 of them or 1.4 cals each.
POPCORN!!! Get the fat free or low fat popcorn. I got 94% fat free popcorn, but for some reason when its popped there is no fat. So for one cup of popped popcorn its only 15 calories and no fat!!!!!!!
my fav. low cal snacks...
sugar free jello cup topped with some fat free whipped cream (just a dollop is like 5 cals) so the whole thing is 15 and it looks like a desert (i feel like i kinda trick my mind into thinking i am having a more high cal snack than i acutally am)
blueberries!! 50 of these is only 39 calories. if you eat them one at a time it takes awhile and is great because i get hungry when i study at school and am always looking to be eating something. it takes awhile to eat 50 berries..also they are an antioxident therefore VERY good for your skin, thats always an added benefit

I like to keep spicy Kim-Chee in the fridge.
I get flavoured ice pops. They're 0.2 cals each and that's it, no carbs or fat. I usually munch on them when I need to nibble.
Otter pops! 10 calories each.
Fat free Sour Cream & Onion Pringles! 70 calories per serving (15 or so chips!) They taste just like the normal ones!

Cont'd.. on the pringles.. 15 g of Carbs and 2g of Fiber per serving!! Can't go wrong!!
If you all you want to do is to munch I would recommend the 94% fat free popcorn- especially the sweet popcorn if you also want to go for something sweet
- also go for the veggies and fruits- if you are going for the fruits try to mix them up so you have variation in your eating.
- A tip I have is to try to mix up your foods a little because it makes you more conscious of what you are eating ? because if you are just eating something that is uniform in taste the food could disappear without you realizing it
If you are craving something special that is not very low cal- I would say take a small portion of that because sometimes the restriction of certain foods make you over compensate by eating a lot of something else
- after you eat the small portion of your special snack- go brush your teeth! okay, I know that sounds slightly random but by brushing your teeth (especially with mint tooth paste) you stifle your appetite some -

I just thought of something i forgot to mention. If you are absolutely craving chocolate and are trying to lay of the candy try some of the instant hot chocolate. It eases the chocolate craving while still being a lot less then the real thing.
Another thing which I love is a hummus tortilla. But instead of the flour tortilla go for one made out of veggies instead- resulting in cutting out yet more calories. I generally just have the tortilla with garlic hummus and just that but you also could put things such as tomatoes or lettuce (experiment until you find something to your taste)

I'm in love with Go lean kashi cereal...just dry. It's probably not the lowest calorie, but it has 13g of protien and lots of fiber so you get full faster. I like to add cinnamon to it to give it more flavor. Great snack!
I also like the 90 calorie packs of quaker granola bites in peanutbutter...sooo good!
Sugar free pudding is pretty good...just 60 calories!
This sounds weird, but raw vegetables with salsa is a good alternative for chips. Most salsa only has 5-10 calories per serving.
Cooked carrots with that spray on butter(calorie free) isn't too bad. ...just some ideas.

Wasa crackers - high in fiber, low in fat! Usually 30 - 40 calories a piece, depending on variety.
Prosciutto and cantelope. Just make sure to stretch out the prosciutto.
Fudgecicles, 1 bar = 40 cal. I have 2... :)

don't know if it's been said or not, but air popped popcorn with nothing on it is one of my favourite things ever.
at first it's kind of weird, but you grow to appreciate and even like the flavour of the popcorn by itself without all of the butter and salt.
plus, you can eat 3 cups of it and it's still under 100 cals (31 cals/cup), and the small pieces make it perfect for a mindless bowl-to-mouth snack. and it's full of fibre so you stay full.
edited to add...
kashi's 7 whole grain puffed cereal is comprable to popcorn, but you get different flavours from the different grains. it's also really low in cals, but it's size makes it easier to grab handfulls instead of individual pieces.

This is a great thread! Thanks everyone for all the great snack ideas.
One of my favorite snacks is applesauce. Wal-Mart brand. ( Great Value is the name ) 80 calories, and so delicious. But make sure you get the one that says 80 calories. It's the very best. And I've tried a few others, they don't compare. The price is reasonable too. It comes in individual servings, 6 to a pack.
