mom-4kids - you really made my day!  I am in a not so good mood lately because I am loosing like a pound a week now vs like 2 or 3 when I started , which means mathematically I won't be reaching my goal of 170 by labor day but you're right I am loosing and that's what counts!

I pretty much just make sure I don't slack on logging what I eat. Since I usually bring my lunch and snacks to work I log everything in the morning before I've actually eaten it and if I start noticing "uh-oh I am not going to have to many cals left for dinner" I'll leave one of the snacks in my drawer for the next day.   Also I am like super lazy/busy and tend to put off exercising until the last minute so when I used to just go to the gym I was always like "oh it's to late I'll just go tomorrow" and then I wouldn't go for like 3 days.  So what I do now I got lots of different exercise videos and even if it's late I will force myself to do @ least 30 minutes in my living room before I shower for the night.  I can't make an excuse there I just turn on my DVD.

I hope everyone else is doing great, any suggestions from you guys that are still managing to drop 2+ pounds per week???

    #124 mom-4kids Jul 15 2008 16:22
yessicazctcs...thank you for sharing, I really appreciate that.   i'll  definitely stick to at least 30 min a day exercise which I am slacking, too.

And yes, we need suggestions for those losing +2 pounds just like you said...that's why we're in this forum, right.  It should not just be numbers but give motivations for those managing to loose even for just 0.something pounds and push those ones and give support  that are not losing, to try harder.

bad...bad...bad, bad, bad.  I was not good to myself all last week. Heck, since the holiday weekend I haven't been on track.  Now my body is really mad at me...it has retaliated by gaining a few pounds and making me sick (I'm thinking it's a summer cold).  bad!

I don't know how I did it this week.  I really don't.   I don't count my calories as faithfully as I should.  I mean how do you record a Chicken Quesidilla Relana from a mom and pop mexican restraunt anyway?  I went for a walk and took the big hill without having to stop and catch my breath.  (yeah Me that was a first)  Its one of those monster hills that has a fairly easy incline halfway up then suddenly switches to a 70 degree angle.

I read Dr. Oz's book, You on a diet and though it was interesting, I didn't really implement the diet.   Hubby is allergic to Onions and Peppers.  He has an intollerance for anything green and leafy. And that is Dr. Oz's diet in a nutshell.  The recipes to me look wonderful.  Like Asian Samon with Brown Rice Pillah or how ever you spell it.  It won't work for hubby so I can't do it.  Im not cooking a meal for me, a meal for him and a meal for the kids.  I refuse.

Im thinking about looking up bread recipe for bread with spinich in it and not telling him until after he has eaten it and not thrown up.  I hate treating him like he is one of the children, but man can not live by meat and potatos alone.   Expecially not when heart disease runs in his family and hes over 300 lbs.  This diet was suppose to be easier for him than for me.  He has lost 4 lbs and Ive lost like 6 or 7 lbs in the same amount of time.  His impaitents is showing.

Other than that, I just broke up fights with the kids, bought a new travis trit CD and tried to get my house clean.

Here is a food suggestion- substitute cucumber slices (with skin) for chips. I like them with a little salt or use them with dip. They fill you up pretty quickly, give you a really great crunch, and better for you nutrition wise... It really saved me over the 4th weekend. If you dont like cucumbers, try another vegetable that you can slice into a 'thick chip'.

Thanks for the suggestions, keep them coming!

I have some before and after pics posted  ( I like to think you can see a difference )  They are private so just add me if you care to see them.

I'm currently at 217.8 as of today so I'm kinda excited to see where I'll be on Monday.  Mom-4kids, part of my rapid loss is because I'm still 80-some pounds above where I should be for my height...it comes off a lot faster (but isn't terribly noticeable).  I've been sticking to my 1500 calories a day with one cheat day where i can eat at maintenance if I want to.  I try to walk a few times per week but I haven't started up any real workout routine.  I hit a plateau briefly so I just ate at maintenance for about 3-4 days and then brought it back down to 1500...the weight just started dropping again.

    Good luck everyone.

So, I have been looking up this conjugated linoleic acid that is supposed to help you get rid of your belly fat because of the ad that keeps attracting my eye on the bottom of the forum screen ( you know, the one that says lose a pant size every seven days) and according to wiki it is a fatty acid found in beef and eggs, but the healthy kind that actually can help you lose weight. But, you have to have 3400 milligrams of it a day, so I am trying to figure out if you can get it at stores or just online? Anyone know anything about this?

Just felt like posting today as I have been a pretty good girl all week! If I can hold out one more day, Monday's eigh in should be pretty good! Also, went to see dark knight and the only thing I drank was water! No snacks at all! So much easier when you only got to feed yourself and don't have to enertain guests! We'll see on Monday, I guess.

I tried it and it is just more hype. Matter o'fact...I am the girl that has tried almost everything...hydroxycut (new & old formula), EAS supplements - creatine,... Your body gets most of the 'supplement' type fat loss products from food if you are eating correctly- you dont need that stuff.

During my EAS days...(was doing the challenge) I was on a diet that the fitness competition girls go on...OMG that was crazy. Plus I was using creatine and other 'creatine' type products put out by EAS...I ended up in the hospital with a kidney stone - I thought my appendix was ready to burst and apparently the ER people were in the same mind set because I had nearly passed the stone (which was a result of the creatine & high protein diet) before they gave me medication...NEVER AGAIN. Talk about learning a lesson the hard way.

Week 5 (July 21) - 182...not bad figured it would be higher because of the food festival I shared with myself and Irma this weekend...
