140/130 club

Anyone in this grouping looking to drop from 140 to 130's.  We can all use support.  Today I am focusing on all the food groups.  Exercise would be good, but I won't be able to since I am working from 9 to 10:30.  A Super long day.  I hope I can stay focused, when I pass the fast food chaines on my travels today.

mmmmm  i just ate a weight watchers chocolate cake with chocolate icing, and i just want to eat the whole dang box... it was good, BUT soooooooooooooo smalll lol... just made me want more... :(  ahhh well..  dinner time here in a few hours lol...  and i have only eaten 2 of my 6 alloted sf chocolate eggs.. so doing good i suppose lol..
lily, where do you get those advant-edge shakes?  i looked at safeway and whole foods today and couldn't seem to find it at either.
i think walmart has them??  seems like i have seen them there??
my easter was nearly a 3500 cal day!!! Nothing to do but back in saddle tomorrow.
thats the right attitude dharma :) back in the saddle again tomorrow :) you can do it :)
i am STUFFED!!  but, despite that, i somehow have a nice deficit today.  i definately had my share of goodies though, whoops!  actually, no whoops, i planned them in, how can you resist everything!? :)

thanks unicat.  i may check there or at target then, i'm more a target girl myself. :)  i'm still debating the protein drinks a little, i just don't want to get all bulky.  i should do some research.  glad to hear the water weight came off unicat, always a relief!

lily - congrats!!  140.5 is so GREAT!  keep it up! :)

vcoop - that is AWESOME that your hubby noticed how much better you were playing!!  what a great compliment!
yay on the deficit teen :) i planned mine in too :)  i like target too.. just dont have one here lol...  and i have been drinking protien drinks for a while now, and am not noticing bulking lol.. and yeah, i am glad the water weight came off soo quickly..  :) yay :) lol..  now to see a new low without flubbing up first :0) lol
Good morning! Hope everyone is ready to get back on track!  I'm on spring break, and it is so hard to stick with my food plan when my routine is disrupted!  I am more tempted to eat whatever when I'm at home--at least I will get some good exercise time in!

waterwaterwater...lol!
Dee
lily--it's great to see all of the progress you're making on the elliptical!!!  keep it up--it's always great to give yourself new challenges.  right now, i use my heart rate monitor and try to make sure i get my HR up to over 170 bpm. and now i'm so jealous that you hit 140.5!!! i'm trying, but it just won't get below 141 in the morning! grr!

ekath--i think your goal of 140 by may 12 is totally achievable. 135 might be hard, but i think you can definitely get to 140.  i'm still working on getting down below 141 :) lol.  my scale seems stuck :)

v--that's great your husband is noticing! can you notice a difference when you play?

brigitte--that's awful about the girl stealing the eggs from your daughter! how rude! and way to get back to 143! everyone in this group is dropping so fast! don't leave me behind! :)

dharma--at least you counted! i have no idea :) although I think i was actually pretty good--i didn't actually have any chocolate. just a dinner that was very yummy :) but i made sure not to over-eat. have a fun spring break!

wolfie--definitely don't worry about getting bulky. protein shakes can actually help you lose some weight.  it helps you build up muscle faster, but since we dont' have much testosterone, you really won't "bulk up".  but they help keep you from losing muscle mass, and so your body will burn more cals at rest.

my weekend was pretty chill--but there was a fair amount of alcohol involved :) but i'm holding steady at 141...which isn't a bad weight...i'd just like to see a LOWER weight.  *sigh* maybe this week! lol.  i posted up some pics of me in my workout clothes--i actually look a lot better in those pics than i do close up, LOL.  so do not be deceived :) i took my measurements, and lost about 2.5 inches in March--which is pretty good considering how much trouble i was having!  most of it was around my torso though--very little in the hips and thighs, which is where i have been losing a significant amount (because i have a significant amount to lose, LOL).  i also bought a new pair of SIZE 9 jeans (juniors!) on friday--so am pumped about that.  and i fit into all the 9's i put on.  ah, simple joys :)
I totally gave up on the diet since i got the new scale....no motivation...doesn't seem to get me anywhere....
pretty--you can't give up because of a number on a scale.  did you start this for the number? or for yourself and to improve how you look and feel? i know a higher number is definitely discouraging.  but it is not the end all be all of losing weight.
hey guys! Sounds like everyone is doing great!

I made a new drink Friday.... cranberry vodka and sprite zero YUM YUM YUM!!!! my friend and I drank the whole bottle... hee hee...

HUGE, HUGE dinner last night... ugh. Up a lot this am but I'm not weighing again till Wednesday... Let all this extra poundage get off of me so I don't get depressed... lol

pretty, don't give up! I feel the same way, but just keep on truckin! You can do it!

I'm posting in my journal around 12 ish time if anyone is interested! Talk to you all soon!
Definitely ignore the scale!
I was at 142 last year, now at 150--still fit into my size 8's--muscle mass is what  i have added.  Focus on changing to become healthy--not to hit some number!
Morgan - yes I do notice the difference when I play.  I have more endurance and can actually sprint again.  Use to be once and up and down the field, I was done.... now I can do it with no problems.  Amazing how losing 15 pounds can make a difference.

pretty - I completely understand, hard to ignore the scale, I am completely obsessed with it lately.

srd - may have to try that drink, cranberry sounds good!!!   I wasn't so good this weekend.  I managed to polish off a bottle or two of wine myself.  Plus a little tequila thrown in.....
lol. i used to do tequila shots all the time :) then i discovered lemon drops and kamikaze's :)  lol. i really like moscow mules now: ginger ale, vodka, and a little lime juice. quite tasty! also the gin and tonics are lovely!  but cranberry vodka and sprite sounds good too.

that's great that you can notice a difference, v! very cool how being fit lets you do so much more!
when you're totalling your count for the day, have you ever recognized a point where you went over, but not my much? However, at the time you went over, you thought you blew it & then REALLY blew it.

I have to become more conscious of that.
dharma - I try and log as I eat, which helps me.  I know what dinner will or will not entail.

my husband laughs at me (good laugh), he says I spend more time on the computer now then he does, always checking the forums and journals.  He thinks its great I have found others to talk too.

cutting out alcohol I think was the hardest.  I am a wine drinker and it has been killing me.  The tequila we got in Mexico last summer and have been slowly but surely knock it off, with shots.  We got rum this time, and have started on it.  Miss the cheese too with the wine.   UUUUUUUUGHHHHHH!!!
dee- definitely get lots of water in, and use this free time to get some great exercise in :)

morgan - thanks :) and i dont think we will leave you behind, you are doing a great job :) gonna go look at those new pics...   wow you look good :)  i love that workout outfit :)  and that swimsuit :) i would so go to the beach if i looked like that in mine :P  congrats on the size 9 jrs :) yay :)

sarah - DONT give up.... you CAN do this.. you KNOW you can...  that number doesnt mean as much as how you feel does..

stacey - keep on keeping on, you can do it :)

dharma - yeah i have done that...  :(

okay so yesterday was definitely a maintenance day...  those who read my journal know i didnt exercise, just couldnt get into it...  but i did maintain :) still 143 this morning..  didnt sleep well last night, had just started dozing off well when hubby called to say he was coming home to sleep..  so i got up, waited for him...  didnt get back to sleep til almost 1 am, then up at 530 this morning) and since its already 615 am, kids have to get up in 15 minutes, so i dont see me getting in my exercise this morning before we have to leave here...  so unless i actually force myself to do it after all the running i have to do, today will be another maintenance day...  (i think i will actually still have a deficit of like 350, so not tooo awful then...just no exercise... although i think my muscles probably need another day off, stilll kinda achy from two days ago...)

~Brigitte~
v--but at least you took the initiative to cut out the alcohol! that's good :)

dharma--i really only log through when i'll be at work. it gives me a good idea of how many cals i've taken in, and then i just try to get a general idea of what i should do for dinner. definitely not the most accurate, but works best for my lifestyle (never know where i'll be eating, so never know WHAT i'll be eating)

brigitte--thanks for checking out the pics :) maintenance days aren't bad. our body's need 'em sometimes. just remember to stretch a lot to warm up your muscles and help cut down on soreness--going for a walk or somethign that gets your blood pumping can help, too.  i actualy really like doing a light workout when i'm really sore.

i put too much balsalmic vinegrette on my salad today, so it's all wilty :( boo....but going home after work to do some Turbo Jam, so i'm pretty excited about that :) i don't get a chance to do the cardio workouts much anymore, so i always enjoy doing 'em when i get the chance :)
ooh! i forgot!

for easter, my mom and i are going to go get hour long massages together at a local spa.  i'm SOOOO excited--i LOVE LOVE LOVE massages :)
