Girls in their 20's who want to lose about 100 pounds ennazus520
  Jan 28 2008 19:41
Hi, my name is Suzanne and I am 23 years old. I weigh 258.3 pounds(yikes) and would really like to get down to between 140 and 150. I was wondering if there was anyone else out there in their 20's who has about that much they want to lose. We could work together and stay motivated to reach our goals!!! Also, if there is anyone in their 20's who has lost that much and wants to share their success story, I would love to hear it! Thanks!

sonini: i got a brazillian in january.  the pain wasn't horrible and it was really something I thought I would continue doing... until I had a bad reaction to the wax that night and broke out down there!  That was SO painful and itchy and horrible for almost a week.  So much for hot brazillian waxed sex!  but as far as being a certain weight to do it, it's great as a reward, but the girl before me was probably around 250 and the lady doing it definitely looked like she was over 300.  That made me feel a whole lot better.

perskii: welcome!  there are a lot of use in here that have 50-80 pounds to lose... like suzanne said, it's more of a concept.  Really, we just want to create a healthy and supportive and FUN environment!

watchme: I'm off to read your post!  Oh and kick boxing is tough, but it's really not so bad.  It's definitely a workout though!  I think you should give it a try!  I love it and think it's super fun.

I'm trying to figure out ebay today.  I have tons of unopened beauty products that I want to get rid of as well as some clothes.  I have a friend who is helping me from long distance, but I think I'm making it harder than it is....  lol.

watchme:  I like your report!  I kinda do something similar.  Smile

Hello ladies!

I cannot believe how much goes on here...now that I'm back at school, I don't get a chance to read them all (or do a lot of other things that I wish I could could be doing...sigh). But it really encourages me to know that this group is here!

I seem to have finally figured out how to get some results...not nearly as dramatic as I wished (50 pounds gone by June, anyone?) but still, it's something. This week's food discovery: light string cheese (60 kcal, no carbs, 2.5 g fat--perfect for those with PCOS, etc.) and these little pre-packaged 1 oz. containers of hummus that they sell in the cafeteria...I LOVE hummus (I'm from the Middle East), and I could put away so much pita and hummus without thinking...now I eat 1 oz. with sliced cucumbers...almost as good :)

Wow ladies, I really need to take off from work just to keep up with you gals! You are so busy! But it's nice , you all motivate me! Your all doing great! I wish I could do the reward thing but I can't afford it--I will just have to think positive comments! I really really didn't want to work-out today but maybe that was my fault for taking 3 days off in a row but I went and worked out anyways--I did an hour on the treadmill and then I meet with my personal trainer tonight to lift weights---Not much else going on, I'm waiting for the weather to warm up so I can go outside and exercise--I would rather go outside than the gym but it was cold today......O, and ya kick boxing is tough--I say do it! At least give it a try watchme...I tried it a couple of times but I'm just not coordinated enough but it's a great work-out and you can go at your own pace if needed.....Hello and a shout out to everyone else!

why does 22 --> 20 --> 18 --> 16 --> 14 have to take so MUCH more weight loss than  14 --> 12 --> 10 --> 8 --> 6

UGHERS

#1146 alibsam Apr 02 2008 04:14
Watchme-- What about buying a kickboxing dvd and trying it at home before you shell out the money for classes? I took classes a couple times in college and yeah... it kicks your a$$ for sure.

Ennazus: haha I have never had confidence. I guess years of being told that you'll only be pretty if your thin has kind of done it for me. haha I think my face is decent but for me, being overweight automatically cancels it out.

pinkcobra-- I've wanted to try a brazilian but the pain terrifies me... that and being fat up on the table haha. I guess if I think of it as no different than the gyno it wouldn't be too bad. hhaa

i was JUST thinking this yesterday. it's like, "why is this taking so long?!?" i think i'm 6 or so pounds from the next size down, but who knows? i might be 16 lbs, or 22 or 31. who knows? what i do know is that i've been wearing the same size for more than 20 pounds now, and it's startin' to piss me off!

#1149 fayny Apr 02 2008 16:03

It makes sense to me that the bigger the size the more you have to loose between them, eventhough its really annoying.  Like in my 60 lbs loss I'm only down 2 sizes confortably...but I try not to think about that.  If I was a smaller size to start with and lost the same I'b de down 4 or more probably! :( so watchme I'm feeling your pain!

pink, I'm pretty savvy at the whole computer/internet thing, but for some reason ebay is very daunting to me! Could be because I don't have patience for things like that and it's easier to ust throw out or give away eventhough its a waste of money.

#1150 allydan Apr 02 2008 16:14
Good morning ladies!

pinkcobra, I'm definitely going to try a Brazilian at some point, but the first and only time I've ever gotten a regular bikini wax was the worst experience of my life, so I've gotta work up the nerve to go get waxed again. The place I went was just awful, and the lady was mean/rude, and didn't even try to be gentle. *shudder* Next time I'll pay a little more to have someone not rip off half my skin along with the hair.

ali, don't let the weight make you feel down; you're very pretty! I totally understand the mindset, (I had some stranger in Whole Foods this weekend give me the whole "you have such a pretty face!" thing, while looking me up and down silently commenting to herself about my weight.), but you can't let that get you down or make you feel bad about yourself. Rock the hotness, chica! :-)

Jessica, I wondered where you'd been! When you get a chance, drop back in and tell us how you've been! :-)

Dalma, I KNOW! The size thing sucks! It drives me nuts that my 18s are getting lose, but i can't even get my 16s to button! What am I supposed to do at this weird in between size? All the smaller sizes have like 1.5 inches difference between them, but once you get into plus sizes it becomes 3 inches difference. Are you kidding me? WTF?! It's bad enough the clothing industry wants to dress us all up in mumus, do they have to add insult to injury by making it so that if you're kinda between sizes your clothes are ill-fitting as well! Grrr. And it's really been bugging me lately, because I haven't really been losing any weight in my lower body. I've lost 5 inches off my natural waist but only 1 freakin inch off my hips and butt. What's the point of seeing the scale go down if I still can't wear regular clothes? Last time I was at this weight I was a 16... So why am I still an 18 now? Double grrr! I decided to up my weight training since I heard that it might help, and as long as I'm in calorie deficit, I shouldn't bulk up with it. *sigh* Sorry, I'm done ranting now! I've just been stressing is all; I have barely any clothes I can wear because my 18s are baggy and my 16s make me feel like I'm a sausage stuffed into a casing. *sigh again*

So how's everyone else doing today? :-)
#1151 alibsam Apr 02 2008 16:25
Today has not been so bad (minus the fact that I have to jump through loads of hoops to get a new visa since my school was sold) discounting the growing sinus infection I have. I'm listening to Tegan and Sara (I want to hold their hands) and today fit into a size smaller pants. Woo. I felt like they were really tight but everyone at work said they looked great. I guess they felt tight because my other pants were baggy. *shrug* Oh well.

Hope everyone has a great day today.

Sonini, I have been many times to get a brazilian. It's nothing but the lazy man's razer, really. Very little pain, it's mind over matter. As for breakouts: sounds gross but greasy polysporin is the best for right afterwards. It'll be red but the benefit of the brazilian would be - takes weeks to grow back - quick and easy - no red bumps (unless you're sensitive) - as for being fat on the table, I've got to be honest, I never even thought about it. What does an aesthetician who makes money pulling hair out of va-j-j's care if you're fat? You're nothing but a dollar sign ;) I think it's a great goal for your 200 mark. Git er dun!
#1153 watchmeshine82 Apr 02 2008 16:54

dalma and allydan -- i guess my whining opened up a can of worms.  sorry!  to work through my frustration about not changing sizes (hello, size 20s, please fit me soon!) i am trying to focus on weeding out my closet piece by piece.... right now i'm basically putting all the winter coats and sweaters that had better be too big on me next winter in big garbage bags to donate!!  i will say though that i am definitely looking like a slimmer size 22 than i was on the way up.  must be the exercise.

pc, you might want to just donate the items you have.  great tax write-off if you've got quite a bit.

you guys, i think i'm getting obsessive about keeping these reports and tracking calories and stuff now.  i have noticed though that yesterday, although i only ate 1600 calories, much of that was in the early hours cuz i was FAMISHED (probably from the crazy elliptical routine the night before).  same thing today!!  have already eaten 730 calories and it's only 11 AM.  i don't know WHY i am so hungry -- probably cuz of the elliptical again but i haven't even gone to our corporate group lunch yet... i hope i behave.  if it's chinese food again, i'll just skip the food i think.

#1154 pinkcobra Apr 02 2008 17:03

ali: congrats on the smaller pants!  you rock!  see?  you can't be doing all too terribly! Smile

safa: ebay is a b****.  lol.  I, also, consider myself computer/internet savvy... but ebay is not regular internet!  haha.  I'm kind of OCD/Type A about things so I have everything written up in word and I'm making sure everything is "just so" before I post it... hence, making it harder than it is.

on sizing: that's a b**** too!  (I think I may have woken up on the wrong side of the bed... could have something to do with my dryer being stupid and the repair man being stupid and.... blah.  lol)

But the sun is shining and as soon the guy is done ruining my house I'm going to go for a walk in the beautiful sunshine!  I think I need some sunlight therapy!

too funny!

#1156 watchmeshine82 Apr 02 2008 17:25

ok i'm already upto 810 calories now.  why am i so hungry?!?!?

#1157 dalmalama Apr 02 2008 17:36

if you're hungry, you're hungry! your body is trying to tell you something; listen to it! when you're no longer hungry, don't eat. just fill up on healthier choices.

#1158 watchmeshine82 Apr 02 2008 17:58

my body is also telling me that it wants a cookie today at the dept lunch.  i am resisting.  damn it.  Cool

#1159 scarter1 Apr 02 2008 18:36

So with the waxing thing - I have never had a Brazilian done but I get my brows waxed every few weeks and I noticed that the quality of the wax is directly related to the breakout following the wax.  My friend recommended using hemp wax and that has really reduced the amount of breakout on my face, so it would probably do the same for anywhere else.  When you go to get a wax ask what kind of wax they use and try to find a place that uses more natural wax.

So yesterday I ate so good all day through dinner and then my friend (who I had dinner with) offered me some left over Easter candy and I stupidly accepted it and then I went on a sugar binge.  I ate five more pieces of Easter candy at her house and when I got home I ate like a half a bag of cookies!  Why on earth do I keep doing this to myself?  Does anyone know how to get rid of a sugar addiction?  Sometimes I feel like a coke fiend out looking for a fix!

#1160 pinkcobra Apr 02 2008 18:57

scarter: when you are craving sugar, eat something with natural sugars in it, such as: natural peanut butter or fruit.  After doing this several times it becomes habit and it also cuts down your cravings.

dalma: i love that site!!!!  are you a member there?  It's totally fabulous!
