HI! My name is Laura and i am 5-5 and 235 lbs as of today. I did weigh 240 almot 2 weeks ago. I am counting calories cuz I do not know what ele to do. When i gave birth, I only weighed 201 lbs! My son is 5(his bday is halloween). I cant believe i have put on so much lately. I have high blood pressure so I am on Diovan. I am also on protonix( for heartburn). I took myself off depo provera lat Sept and currently have the IUD, Mirena. Birth control was part of it but that is why I switched to IUD. I am taking it slow, and watching what I eat. I guess I am supposed to stay under 1700 calories and I walked 20 minutes today. I hate exercise now but I have to do it to lose weight the old fashioned Way!
if you have any suggestions, please tell me....

tabby and rockin--yes, i had a great evening!  it was nice and quiet!  at 10:30 pm , i started cleaning out my closet...ummm...still need to finish!  :)

my daughter and i had a great mother/daughter day yesterday shopping.  She wanted to eat at Cracker Barrel (it that a Southern thing?) which has the BEST southern cooking!  However, I ordered a steak, side salad, and baked potato...plain....and a to go box.  I immediately put 1/2 of steak and potato in box.  It's in my fridge right now!!!!!  :)

i am so ready to hit that 20 pound mark like mefunk ----congrats to you and welcome!!  you'll love it here!

ell-bell- my good friend has a goal---she wants to be "overweight" instead of "obese"!!!!  you go girl!!!

Weighed myself today.....I'm down 4 pounds in 17 days. I'm thrilled. It may not be much, but it's DOWN. I've found this site extremely helpful in counting calories and feel that's helped tremendously. I weigh in weekly with a group of terrier owning friends from around the country and that's been a great support, too. I'm 33 pounds from my goal that I hope to reach by the first of September. I've got some cute capris that I can't wait to wear at my dog shows this summer!

Tomorrow is weigh-in day for me...my WW meeting is at 5:30pm, so I can get there right after work...I did not stay for the meeting last week since hubby was sick, but I am going to stay tomorrow...I can't wait to see the loss...I have been good all week...woohoo...2 weeks without cheating...and fitting foods I enjoy into my plan...:)

Hi Everyone!!!  I was going to post Tuesday when we returned from our fishing trip, but I have been playing catch-up with work... so much so that we ended up letting someone go in our department and I was the lucky one that had to take over what they were doing!!  Oh-well, that's how it goes some time!!

You all have been so chatty - I started on page 44 and had to read all the way to this page... 57 I believe.

There is so much for me to say, so rather than write a novel about all that I have read I will just these few things:

Our mini-vacation was terrific!! We spent all day, everyday fishing - caught a few fish, spend tons of time with family and ended up as red as a lobster on my legs, arms and neck!!  I'm hoping to upload a few pictures of where we were, so look for those soon!!!

I did pretty good on keeping on schedule on Saturday but I got the start of a migraine earlier and took my new med.  Woohoo, it never actually matured so I am glad for that.  It threw my schedule off a little but I'm almost back on track.

About the hummus, I buy the Athens brand hummus and all the flavors I've looked at is 50 cals for 2 tbspns.  I've only tried the chipotle flavored so far but today I bought a new flavor (for me)...3 spices.  I haven't tried it yet.  Fyi-hummus has a smashed bean-like texture.

Woohoo on the losses since my last post!!
Well, everyone has been busy!  Congratulations everyone on your losses!  Keep up the good work and for those of us that didn't show a lose, hang in there...it'll come!

The weekend was nice, I spent the day with my cutie.

Food wise today was the worst that I've been since I started.  I think I accounted for everything right.  Anyways, it was a bunch of junk today with lots and lots of calories.

I can tell the puffiness setting in from all the sodium I've injested.  I'll see how tomorrow goes.  I was doing good until today.  The weekends are killer for me.   I'll be back to it tomorrow!!  Drinking lots and lots of water.

ell - Congratulations in your downgrade!  Loved the "weigh yourself" comic.  That was great!

kt - Glad you had a good time out with your sister and her friends.

V - The 3 Peppers hummus is a very yummy!  I like to spread mine on bread and add cucumber slices, lettuce and a tomato slice.  Yummy!

wyojrt- 4lbs....Yay!  I like the fact that you are rewarding your accomplishments with clothes.  I have capris I bought last year and they are a little loose this year....I was pretty happy about that...here I thought I wasn't doing that great but I am smaller than I was last summer.  Not lots...but some.  I have to quit going by that dumb scale.

official w/1---2 more pounds gone!!  That's 18.5 gone!  I have settled in that 1 1/2 to 2 pounds loss a week is okay, and the way to go for me.  (I watch too much Biggest Loser where girls my size lose 15 pounds in a week!!)

itsmy - 15 pounds a week ... my ass! NOBODY loses 15 pounds a week ... EVERY WEEK! They may be the "Biggest Loser" ... but WE'RE AWSOME!!! I bet they gain it all back the minute they are left on their own. BIG CONGRATS ON YOUR 2 POUNDS!!!

Welp weighed in today lost 3 pounds and 4 inches YAY!!!  hope everyone had a great weekend!!  Mine was good slipped a bit on saturday a friend of mine is in a new band went to the bar and drank too much the really need a calorie free alcohol for days like this!!

You guys are all right!  15 pounds in one week is way too much.  My SIL is a nurse and she said that 1 - 2 pounds week is healthy and less likely to come back.  Those people on BIGGEST LOSER probably are losing a lot of water weight.  While it's encouraging it gives everyone the wrong idea. 

Anyways, I haven't weighed in yet.  A little bit afraid after my food fest yesterday.  I let you guys know how I do with the weigh in.

Eh, they're truly freaks if they're losing 15# a week.  Impossible I say!!!

Hye-go ahead and weigh, sometimes those binges surprise our body and inturn surprise us. 

I am becoming used to losing every other week.  No loss/no gain for this week.  I hope that means, according to my pattern, that I just might see 250 next week.  Hiccup...here's to patterns (raises glass of ice water, pretending to be drunk)!
Blue...i make my own hummus from a recipe i found...it's garbanzos, spices, and olive oil, so it's the good kind of fat..mega 3 fatty acids...lowers the bad cholesterol, raises the good. it's important to have some of that in your diet. i eat 2 tablespoons of hummus on a piece of 100% stone ground whole wheat bread. makes a good snack midmorning or mid afternoon. tastes pretty good, too.

Jack....i was where you are not so long ago...HUGE CONGRATS!  i know...it does take some getting used to once you see those numbers go down!

Congrats to al the losers out therre today! ....and to those who are "stuck"...don't give up, whatever you do! YOU CAN DO THIS!!!

I'm an old-timer who fell off the wagon (of making posts, not weight loss), and I now weigh 214.  Last April, when I started CC and my new eating and exercise plan, I weighed 284.  I was doing great until about 3 months ago when I plateaud and found out I was pre-diabetic (kind of frustrating when I'd just lost 70 pounds!).

Anyhow, I'm glad this group is here, and I hope you don't mind if I share my struggles and successes with you since I'm in the same boat.  I can use all the help I can get to "start over" on a new "pre-diabetic" lower carb (still low fat) diet.

Alright I weigh in and it wasn't pretty.  I know what I did wrong and it showed a gain from last week.  Drinking lots of water....hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Aw Hye, are you going to recheck tomorrow to see if it was a sodium gain?  You'll be alright regardless of what you decide.  The biggest battle, knowing what went wrong is already won.  Keep drinking that water.
hye i know exactly how you feel about weighing in today. I let my friends coem over and cook spaghetti w/ meatballs and garlic bread. I ate 3 piecesof hte garlic bread! so yea today was up over a pound from the past 3 days. I used yesterday's weight as my weigh in for today b/ cI know if I drink my water and eat right today the numbers will drop back to what htey were. ugh it's just so frustrating isn't it!!!! i was good though, they left all the extra food at my place and i threw out the garlic bread this morning and I"m going to toss the extra spaghetti or see if someone else wants it cuz it was too good to keep around!
Okay people, what do I do with all these Boca burgers!?  I wrote in my journal about the trying out the Boca burgers and they were eh to me.  Well, I made them again and they went from eh to less then eh.  What do I do!?!?  I bought a box and don't want to toss them.  I added lettuce, tomatoe, ketchup, mustard and they still didn't do it for me.  Can anyone help with making them taste better???  Suggestions??  This is pissing me off...they are so good in calories and protein, just not great on taste.
