Anyone in this grouping looking to drop from 140 to 130's.  We can all use support.  Today I am focusing on all the food groups.  Exercise would be good, but I won't be able to since I am working from 9 to 10:30.  A Super long day.  I hope I can stay focused, when I pass the fast food chaines on my travels today.

oh and thirdly: how are people making those little cartoon characters of themselves that show their bodies at e.g. 160lbs and then at 135lbs? I want one!
#1102 teenwolf Apr 05 2007 18:08
OMG!!! i have to share some amazing morning news!  So, i woke up this morning and weighed myself, although it?s not my official weigh-day so it doesn?t count.  the scale flashed 143.5, then settled on 144.0 (mine rounds to the .5), both numbers I have NEVER seen!  WHOO on it?s own?

... but, then i was complaining to my hubby that it's totally f-ed up 'cause i've 'undergrown' the dress pants i had been previously wearing, am starting to 'undergrow' most of my jeans now ... but that my next size down of dress pants still weren't fitting ... GRRRR!!!  i told him i thought i should throw 'em out and go shopping for new ones, which he thought was crazy 'cause he was sure i'd eventually fit in them again.  i went to go show him the extremity .  i put on my old dress pants which were insanely baggy, which made him laugh and say i looked like one of those commercials holding the waist out on my pants to show how much i lost.  then, i went to show him how tight my one size down was.  i started to button them and they were going on easy, so i had him check the size it said on the tag.  yep, they were the size smaller and they went right on!!! WHIPPEEE!!!!!  i'm wearing a pair right now and i'm seriously in awe that they went on this morning.  i think i bounced around the house for a good 10 minutes before i could focus on getting ready for work again.  Wow, what a day! :)

chloe - i amjust going to have to avoid the chocolate.. although hersheys has little sugar free chocolate eggs that i looooooooove lol..

creating a virtual model :

go to prevention.com

create the model first (at your highest weight, or whatever).. then click on ctrl and prt sc at the same time... then open paint, and paste the image into paint then save it on your computer as whatever... then create the next one at the lower weight...  doing the same thing..  if you want to put both models on the same pic you can.. you just gotta open the first one in paint, make a space big enough to put the second image beside it...  then open the second image(in another paint window so you have two paint windows open), cut the image out, and paste it on to the first one and move it to the open space you created, then save it :) and upload to here :)

yay teen on the scale ) whooohoooo :) yay on those pants fitting that you didnt expect to :) GOTTA FEEL GOOD    :)

Teen, That is so exciting!! Way to go!

And yeah, I havent made any plans for avoiding the chocolate- other than to fill myself on "good stuff" so I can resist temptation better. I looove it though!
#1105 srd1214 Apr 05 2007 18:50

I love cadbury eggs, reeses peanut butter eggs, AND dove chocolate eggs.... YUM YUM YUM!! I hope I get some of those this weekend! :)
#1106 unicat Apr 05 2007 18:53

#1107 srd1214 Apr 05 2007 19:01
sorry :) I totally forgot about them till chloe said something so blame her.... hehe ;) I'm hoping to limit myself to very few, but my bf's parents are having Easter dinner and they ALWAYS try to fill us up (those boys eat a lot!!) so I'm not doubting that they will have some kind of tempting candy. Last time we went over they had shrimp cocktail (which I love but regretfully opted for kettle cooked chips and french onion dip instead, dumb choice there! oh well, lol). Anyways, hoping they'll do shrimp cocktail again!

I'd offer to babysit, but I don't think I'd be much help :)

HOORAY TEENWOLF!! Very exciting stuff going on for you!!! Keep it up! :)
#1108 prettybowen Apr 05 2007 19:02
My new scale says 151..........................i hate it......................
#1109 kiigan Apr 05 2007 19:04
the past several years, i just haven't been a huge fan of the chocolate eggs or candy.  i like chocolate okay--but i only eat TINY amounts of it at once, so it's never been a major issue for me. never really liked the cadbury eggs.  i DO, however, like chocolate milkshakes and stuff like that :)

congrats, wolfie!!! that's SOOO exciting :) i love rummaging through my old clothes to find stuff that fits again :) that's largely how i track my progress :) i  think i might go buy myself a new pair of jeans tomorrow after work, too :) use it as motivation to keep working out and eating well!!!

enjoy the workout uni!

i just had my Jimmy John's and it was delicious :) then my mom and i went to the asian food store and i found those shirataki noodles! so we got some :)  turns out they're actually made out of this root called konnyaku--which isn't tofu. weird.  i don't like konnyaku, but i'll give these a try!  i loved on the package it said "parbroil to reduce the authentic aroma of shirataki" My mom and I cracked up
#1110 kiigan Apr 05 2007 19:04
*hugs* for pretty.  sorry about the new scale.  just hang in there!!!
#1111 lilywingz82 Apr 05 2007 19:09
Good morning everyone :-)  I hope you are all doing well!  Seems there have been quite the numbers of successes since yesterday! CONGRATS to those who are losing and reaching new goals/lows!!! YAY!

In terms of running sideways on treadmills, I am certain I'd be the one carried out on the stretcher.. great job for using new muscles and varying up the workout tho.. I'm getting bored with mine.. it's been bout the same thing for 4 weeks tomorrow and i bore easily lol.. I don't really have the space for videos etc at home so I'll have to figure something out.

unicat-sorry to hear about that stressful situation.. Good way to look at it though-rooms ransacked=calories burned.. I react the opposite to stress.. I head for the snack cabinet (usually on a mission for chocolate..trying to work on that habit.)

dj-totally hear ya bout wanting bad food when you're tired.  I missed Sun-tues of gym time because I was exhausted.. meanwhile eating pizza and abhorring vegetables.  Now, back at the gym thank goodness and with more energy, I love my broccoli again (though still quirk a brow to the idea of pizza...just less enthusiastically!)

kiigan, upper body work is still good.. doesnt burn alot of cals today, but in the long run, doesnt muscle burn fat faster?  So ultimately, you could very well have accelerated long-term loss.. and that's awesome :-)

Things here are ok.. I ate really well yesterday (for the first time in a few days) and it felt good.  I also hit 500 cals in half hour on the elliptical.. I've come close but never hit it.. today i managed 503 (plus wieghts and finishing with 10 min precor).  Considering how the scale isnt agreeing with me the past few days(do you really gain water weight or whatever during ttom or is that a myth that we have convinced ourselves of to excuse weight gain??? or maybe it IS a real allergy to the 130s.. yeah. could be.), I was glad (tho surprised) that the motivation was there today for a good workout.

I should get some work done now lol.. Again, congrats to those who are hitting their goals and making new ones!!!!
#1112 kiigan Apr 05 2007 19:16
a LOT of women's weights go up around TTOM.  all that bloating and stuff? yeah, sodium and water!  but i also heard that right afterwards is the best time to try and drop water weight by drinking TONS because your body is shedding a lot of it anyways.  didn't quite work for me this time, but i'm trying!  you should check out prevention.com if you want some new routines and stuff.  look in their fitness section
#1113 unicat Apr 05 2007 20:15
thanks stacey for the semi offer lol..  think i am going to see if maybe one of the neighbors whos sons homeschool would be interested in watching the 3 yr old, if they get home soon lol..

got my workout in, yay :) with only one interruption even :)

hmm totm, i know when i had it, i bloated, and i definitely craved stuff...

lily, yay on 503 calories burned on the elliptical.. i really have to get mine fixed... guess i am gonna have to take it apart myself and see if i can clean that sensor, as hubby hasnt had time to do it...

gotta go shower... and see what i can do housework wise... lol..

sarah dont be too upset about the scale.. when i got my new one i weighed four lbs more then my old one said... just take it in stride.. you have still lost the weight you thought you lost, i am sure.. you just started out at a higher number then you thought you did ... :)  keep up the good work and stick around :)
#1114 teenwolf Apr 05 2007 22:20
thanks for all the returned excitement!  i'm so happy today because of it.  i keep realizing i'm wearing these pants and find myself smiling!  i'm eating extra good today 'cause every time i look down i remember what i'm doing all this for!! :D :D :D

you know what's strange is that it's TTOM for me and usually i seriously gain weight ... hmm, maybe more loss to come then!  i love these thoughts... :D

for easter, i'm kinda lucky 'cause i don't have big dinner/family easter plans this year.  Those cookies from my mom are my only hurdle!  she's so cute, she sent them so that we can feel eastery on sunday even though it's not with the family.

you know, i can't find cadbury eggs anywhere this year!! my hubby loves them and i'd love to get them for him, but can't seem to locate them!  it's a good one for me to get for him too since i don't like them too much! :)

pretty: that really sucks, stay strong!! i would be super bummed too!

dj: i do the same when i'm tired, i just wanna snack even if i'm not hungry at all!  i've been trying to stop myself lately and think, i'm not hungry, what do i really want?  and i realize it's sleep ... so i decide to do myself a favor and either take a nap or go to bed early.

unicat: you are such a good wife/mom - you're always doing so much housework!!  i'm super bad at housework! LOL!

ok, those tofu shirataki noodles: this recipe ROCKS!! i don't even like alfredo that much, but this recipe tastes SINFUL!!  i absolutely love it!  the only thing i did different was that i added garlic powder, i sooo need my spices and it was too plain without some spice for my tastes!  i think i spiced up the chicken too.  hungry girl says that her cooking method works better than the parboil instructions they give on the package and that white sauces work better than red sauces.  but i've seen lots of people in the forums happily following the package recipe and eating it with tomato based sauces, so who knows, i've only tried this recipe.  the noodles are a little more chewy than normal noodles and you do have to rinse the noodles thoroughly to get rid of the "fishy" smell.  otherwise, they're amazing!  a big plate of creamy pasta that's super low cal, what more can you ask for!?
#1115 kiigan Apr 05 2007 22:33
looks like an easy recipe! thanks! so easy, i could probably do it! LOL :)  unfortunately, i don't have ANY of the ingredients, so i'd have to go out and buy all of 'em. maybe tomorrow or saturday :)

i realized, i'm getting to this place where i've never really been as far as my size and weight.  granted--i'm not QUITE there yet, i'm still a bit bigger than in high school (as i discovered when i tried on some of my old skirts...grrrrr), but my next set of goals will put me in the realm of the unknown.  it's hard because it definitely challenges my faith in myself...but i KNOW that i can stay disciplined, and will just be shocked and awed when i do start hitting those goals :)
#1116 cathyfitz Apr 05 2007 22:56
Hooray!  Hooray!  This am down to 137.2 I haven't been there for as long as I can remember!  I followed your suggestions -adding  few more calories,I also mixed up my exercise, not as many long runs but some spin classes, pilates, and yoga.  I lso added more protein and NO FOOD after 8:30.  That was my absolute most difficult thing to do.  I'd treat myself to a ff sf cocoa.  Must have been the Benadryl I took for my "allergy!" ; -)  Thanks for the encouragement everyone.  Now - to STAY there!

Yes, you do need to rinse those noodles!!

Ohhhh...Easter candy!  Malted milk balls loaded with fat and sugar are my absolute favorite.  I could eat that malt powder plain.  OK, self-control, kick in.

I'm afraid to buy a new scale after all these posts! ;-)

P.S.  Thanks for all the great web links!

congratulations on the low weight!!! i can't wait to join you there! maybe after this month *grins*
#1118 unicat Apr 05 2007 23:04
lol teen...  i dont have much else to do around here besides keep the house clean, and take care of the kids... i dont work (although after 6 1/2 years of being off i am ready to go back lol, at least parttime.. but am waiting for the 3 yr old to go to kindergarten then i will see about doing something while the kids are at school... gotta save up for retirement.. hubby already has ten years in the navy so ten more to go then he can retire...) and i am a total homebody... lol.. although as i lose more weight i find i want to go do soooooooomethingggggggg... just cant figure out what it is I want to do..

wow ttom and still feeling skinny, lucky girl you :)

ya know, if it werent for the kids i wouldnt have any easter temptation either... being so far away from the rest of my family takes care of the big meal my mother is probably cooking lol.. and i DONT cook... (i really want to start, but i reaaaaaallly hate cooking lol)... i did just have the neighbor boy babysit my little one for about 40 minutes while i ran to walmart and grabbed a bunch of stuff for the kids..i also grabbed myself a bag of those sf hersheys eggs.. just in case i get tempted when the kids get into their stuff lol... i didnt buy them a whole lot of sweets, got em water guns (yay fun) coloring books, colors, a transformer for the teen, ummmmm lol  i dont know what else lol...  and they didnt have any dang baskets.. grrrrrrrr...so i got the little ones these basket/gift bags to put their stuff in, hope they dont care lol..  oh walmart had TONS of cadbury eggs.. :)

almost done with my 3rd bottle of water.. yay.. and my lunch...

ya know morgan i was reading about getting to that place in your size and weight..  and i was thinking, ya know, we all were at that size and weight we want to be at, at SOME POINT in our lifes, lol.. i mean we all grew up from 5 - 10 lbs babies (on average, lol)  so at SOME POINT we gained weight growing up...and hit that weight/size then lol.. BUT GOOODNESS, WHO REMEMBERS WHEN LOL...  i do know thinking back.. that i weighed 138 lbs when i got my drivers license at 16... yay.. so that will be an interesting weight for me to get to, and then who knows when i weighed any lower than that, lol...
#1119 unicat Apr 05 2007 23:07
whoooooooooohoooooooooooo cathy :) congrats on the new weight :) yay :) definitely must of been the Benadryl for the "allergy" lol..

and very cool maui :) my husband went there last time we were stationed here in oahu on an overnighter on the submarine he was stationed on then.. i wasnt allowed to go cos i was seriously pregnant at the time lol.. i would love to visit there, he says its beautiful, and so do our parents..
#1120 kiigan Apr 05 2007 23:13
i mean, i know i was at that weight at some point...but not that weight/size/shape.  like, i probably hit 130 my freshman or sophomore year of high school--but i still looked kind of chubby because my body hadn't matured yet.  by senior year my body had matured a bit and my face thinned down, but i was sitting around 140, size 9.  so i dont' really ever remember wearing size 7's or 5's...cuz i don't think i ever really did.  so it's just weird to be approaching this point where i'll have the mature body that i want (because i like having some curves--wish i had a few more up top, LOL) but in a smaller size, too.  i've never been at a point where i really felt comfortable in my body...i knew i wasn't fat or unattractive (i never have been) but just...not quite satisfied.  it'll be weird to get my body to a place where i can say "i look really good.  it's not perfect. but i'm happy with how my body looks".
