Hey Gals!
Tanya! Thanks for the support! I actually stayed on RIU a week longer than meant to because I was having trouble getting through the entire leg routine, but honestly BIU isn't that bad, its just a lot of cardio at a faster speed. I mean I'm still sore from Monday lol but not as bad as I was say the first day i started SIU.
You basically have to just go at your own pace, be comfortable, because of the accelerated cardio in BIU, you'll see most of your results during that phase I think. I amd not in a race to get to 6 weeks i plan to do this until I master it and then intergrate it with other cradio and other workouts, like I would love to get back into running by summer but we'll see. One day at a time.
I'm not on BB forums I think you have to join the club which i'm not sure i want to yet.
KPP!
Manar _ hun I am so not the best when it comes to carb portions. I can't workout without a lot of carbs in my diet I basically pass out, but I would think that with all the cardio you are doing that as long as you decrease your portion in take to a standard serving at each sitting you should be fine, and go with whole wheat or multi grain or brown rice of course. kimberly would be the one to ask, so... Kim? any thoughts?
Best,
Marissa

Hi Marissa, Tanya and Manar!!!
Marissa, Great job on BIU!! You are going to get some awesome results with it! Btw, the message boards are totally free!! You don't have to join the club, you just have to register. You should stop by my new thread and say hi. It's in the Turbo Jam forum and it's called "Starting Turbo Jam 2/18/08."
Tanya, you should stop by and say hi too. I think the thread you saw is phasing out on Sunday. Everyone there is finishing up SI6 and moving on. I will totally give you encouragement on my new thread. It doesn't matter if I'm doing SI6 or not!![]()
Manar, I like the 40-30-30 ratio. It seems to be the healthiest way to eat. That 40% carbs, 30% protein, and 30% fat. The site here gives you a great analysis of your ratio on the pie chart when you click on analysis. When you're doing high intensity workouts like RIU and BIU, you need to make sure that your eating enough carbs. As far as weight loss, when I talked to Debbie Siebers a few weeks ago, she mentioned eating the bulk of your complex carbs, like grains, in the earlier part of your day. I hope this helps you. If you have more detailed questions about this, please ask.
A big wave to Mia and anybody else I forgot!
Oh, speaking of forgetting: I posted my SI6 success pics here in my gallery and also on my new thread. Check them out. I'm so glad I took before pictures so I can see that my hard work is paying off!
KPP and hugs,
Kimberly
Hey Gals!
Quick shout to Kimberly! You look awesome chica! Go you!
Im gonna check out that thread on wowy tonight. Oh man that legs work is killer,
Hey anyone find that the resistance band that came with the kit it too short to do the double shoulder press? Maybe i'm just too tall lol. i think I have to switch to free weights for that.
Keep it up gang!
Thanks Marissa, yay it will be great to have you stop by my thread!!
Eek! I've never used the bands so I can't help you there. When I first bought the program, they didn't come with it. If I'm going to be a good coach, I'd better to some research on them. I hope someone else here can help you out or maybe on the BB boards.
I've been using hand weights the whole time. I used 3 lb weights for the entire 6 weeks and I'm just now moving on to 5 lbs weights. I just like them because I know exactly how much I'm lifting.
Everybody PP today!!
Kimberly
kimberly i would love to have you as my coach. just let me know exactly what i need to do to and how we can communicate on bb. i am already registered with them.
manar
Go Kimberly go....you did awesome..KPP
Good job Manar for starting RIU, I just finished my first RIU session, it wasn't as bad as I thought.
I am also on BB, my login name is rtanya ..same as this one ;)
Marissa, I am not tall, but that's exactly i thought for tall people it can be short. If you are alsoon BB then lets check our progress there.

Hey Tanya and Manar,
I'm going to be starting a new thread on the SI6 forum tomorrow. That way I can focus on your SI6 questions and my support and encouragement will be more focused on that instead of Turbo Jam, which is the thread I've been referring you to.
I have to sleep now - long day, but I'll try to have that thread up and running before noon PT Saturday. I let you know here or by email what the title is ok!!
Big hugs,
Kimberly
Hi Everyone!
My new Beachbody thread is up and running. Anyone can go there and ask questions and get motivation. I'll still be here, but I know some of you are starting to use the site, WOWY, and the boards now to help you meet your goals.
I am not allowed to put a link here, but I can tell you that it's in the SI6 forum and the title is "Do you have questions? Do you need motivation?"
I know Tanya and Manar will be stopping by!
I hope Marissa, Mia will too! Of course everyone is welcome!!!!!
I'm doing Slim in 6 pack today and Slim in Limber. I hope you all are PP today too!
KPP! Hugs,
Kimberly
Hi everybody!
I have been looking though the replies in this thread and I think that I have found the one that I am looking for.
First, let me say that I have had the SI6 for about a year now. I usually get motivated out of the blue to work out and start the Start It Up DVD but after about a week I quit. I have done this about 6 times so far and I want this one to be my last.
I plan on starting the SI6 series for the last time on Monday Feb 18,2008. I was wondering if there is any body else that is also starting the work outs and would like to be my workout buddy.
MY STATS:
24 years old
Height 4'11
Start weight:140 lbs
short term weight goal: 120 lbs by May 1, 2008
long term weight goal: 108lbs
Hi Evance,
I quit the first time I did it, too! I had a buddy this time and it really helped. I just finished it, but hopefully someone here will buddy with you.
You can always go to WOWY.com too. It's free and you work out with buddies there and you can win prizes just for working out! beachbody.com also has great message boards also and that's free too. I found a great thread there on Jan 1. and everyone on it helped keep me motivated. Everyone is very nice there.
Good luck with your goals! I got great results with SI6 once I stuck with it. If you like, you can click on my gallery and see.
Kimberly

It's after the 18th, but I'll be your buddy. I have SI6 and did it for about 4 weeks a few months ago. Now I'm thinking ahead to spring and would like to do it now so I'm thinner when it arrives.
I am going to start slow and do half or SIU for a couple of days before I start counting my 6 weeks. last time I did the program my muscles got so sore the first couple of days I had to skip a few days so this time I want to ease into it for a couple of days first then start my 6 week program either this weekend (the 23rd or monday the 25th). By starting now I'll be done with the 6 weeks by early April.
If anyone would like to be my buddy it may help keep us motivated knowing there is someone else out there doing it with you....Let me know...
My Stats:
age: 41
Height: 5'3"
Weight: 135
Goal: 115 (ASAP)
I'm on second week day 4 of BIU, and that is a workout lol. but you get better everyday, even on the days you think you're not doing so well, the day after you see areas you are better in, so keep it up. the soreness WILL subside, and get managable.
Have fun!
Marissa
Hi Marissa,
It's great to see that your on Week 4!! I bet you're really starting to see results! Are you still on WOWY? Do you want to work out with me on Sat. or Sun.?
I'm on my 5th day of TJ's 10 Day Kick Start! Chalene is really fun! It's a nice change after SI6. Don't get me wrong SI6 gave me amazing results, it's just fun to do something new. Have you thought about what you're going to do next? I hear Hip Hop Abs and Rockin' Body are fun too. As your coach, I can send you clips of the workouts if you want to see what they're about. I already have your email address, so let me know.
KPP!
Hugs,
Kimberly
Hey idgystripes,
I will be your buddy. I started on the 18th with SIU and I am so sore. I not going to quit this time. Most people workout in he morning but for some reason I have more energy to work out at night. After I work out I get the best sleep.
evance-ok, lets be buddies. I haven't started counting my workouts toward the 6 weeks yet. I did SIU on Wednesday and I'm still super sore. It is hard to walk, especially down stairs!
I work out in the evening too. I guess I'm too lazy to get up in time to do it before work. I think I'll do SIU a couple more times this weekend then start my real 6 weeks on Monday. (or Sunday) Are you still on SIU or are you doing RIU yet? During the week I'm working out around 3 or 4 in the afternoon. What about you? And how did you get motivated at first?
Glad to have a buddy.
Hey Kimberly,
Yea you def see results lol its great for the effort. i think I will continue with BIU but rotate it between cardio workout so i still get toning in, but it's been a blast.
yea sure send me clips of turbo jams I used to do tae bo and that was crazy but it sounds like you're having fun.
KPP!
Marissa
I can workout sunday but let me find out what my day is going to be like and i'll send you an evite on wowy. :)
Ok, Im back to this thread again!
Ive just put my hair up, which to me is like 'ok your commited now, no backing out' and am going to go press play.
I have been doing slim in 6 off and on over 3 years. Ive never made it past week 4, usually week 2, but even then I still start seeing results very quickly, I love these videos. I just get distracted, and once I stop I never start again.
But with a new boyfriend, and my first summer living in a big fashion city, Im determined to stick with this before its time to buy new clothes! I love the 6pk 12 min video, and find it has fantastic results, I always try to do it every day, after all its only 12 mins.
When I bought the videos I was... dare I say it 194. Im now at 154. 5'4. 26yrs old. Im aiming for 140 which is pretty ok for someone with a medium frame (damn my dads side of the family and their broad sholders!)
Anyways, Im ready! Im motivated! Im pumped! Im pressing play!
Day 1: Start it up! & Slim and 6 pk Whos with me??
I've had my Slim In Six program for about a month now and I just started it this morning. It is an agressive program, but I need to lose the weight. I didn't complete the workout and I wasn't able to keep up with the arm exercises, but I like that Debbie encourages you to take frequent breaks. I trying to go for a commission and I need to drop at least 10 pounds soon. I haven't taken the before and after photo yet and I know that I need to do that. I am also going to incorporate my befitandslim products. I've used those products before and they really work. I really like them. You start to lose inches quickly, before losing actual weight. I believe that if I incorporate the two, I should be fine. I like what I've read so far and I think that I am going to take the advice and do this program every other day. I definitely feel the burn!
Also, for the lady who wants to purchase Slim in 6, I purchase it off of an infomercial and I am on a payment plan. It usually comes on early Saturday morning and you can catch it that way you won't have to pay for the program all at once. I hope this helps.
I am looking forward to meeting new friends and encouragement buddies to help me stay on track. Also, I am a little challenged, so I hope that I will be able to log back on, with all the different usernames and calorie names.
