Sneakafreaka, ohhh ALMOND BUTTER is the best substitute to peanut butter, it tastes better and its all natural, so you don’t get all the preservatives!
breakfast: 1 cup vanilla rice krispies, vanilla pomegrante yogurt, 1/3 cup activia yogurt
snack: organic vanilla hazelnut coffee, mixed berry juice
lunch: smoothie; 1/2 cup frozen mangoes, 1/2 cup frozen strawberries, 1/2 tsbp almond butter, 1 scoop whey protein, 1/4 cup activia yogurt, 1/2 banana
snack: apple, 1/4 cup soy nuts, pineapple
dinner: 1/2 cup rolled oats, made with rice milk, 1/2 tbsp almond butter, cinnamon, water and flax seeds
snack: pear, and ancient grain crackersand where might i find this almond butter? where i live, there aren't very many "whole food stores".
okay. so i found it at 14carrot.net (which is a store here in our town) and for 8 oz. it is almost $9. is that a normal price? that seems very expensive for such a little container.
S: Cereal
L: Chicken, grapes, applesauce, 1/2 hershey cookie & cream bar, crackers, 1 kitkat
D: Pizza, green beans, nilla wafers, marshmallows
S: Apple & PB
Sadly, yes. Although sometimes you can find a store-brand (like 365 at Whole Foods) that's around $7 instead - not much difference, but it's a little better at least. Almond butter is so much more expensive, but it IS delicious.
If you're simply looking for a PB substitute; try natural peanut butter. There are brands out there with no sugars, oils, or salt added at all. Look for one with a simple ingredient list: "peanuts".
Lucky. We don't have any "all-vegetarian" restauants around here, although ethnic places and upscale diners often have a pretty good selection of veg foods. If you can find it on the menu, I reccommend quinoa. It's a small, round-shaped grain and tastes amazing - not to mention it contains all the essential amino proteins. If you're into that. ^^

i called yesterday for a menu, but they said they're menu changes everyday, so they don't have an "official" menu. after doing some research, i read that it's like a blue plate diner where you pick a "meat" of course it's not real meat, but a protein choice, and three vegetable sides.
have you ever tried any type of mock? i read they have some of that there in different varieties. i'll look for the quinoa. i was curious as to what that was when i saw it in another forum somewhere.

What kind of soy cheese do you use? I've seen a couple in supermarkets/health food shops but I'm not sure which ones are good. And that flapjack sounds to die for! mmm I love flapjack. (I'm not stalking your posts, I promise - you just eat the yummiest sounding foods!)
Breakfast: Cheerios w/semi milk (eaten in like 2 minutes flat as I was running like 1/2 hour late!)
Lunch: 3 oatcakes, Nature Valley granola bar, pear, apple and muller light yoghurt
Snack: A small cupcake
Dinner: Soup (lentil, tomatos, onion, pepper, potato, celery) wholewheat pitta bread and raw carrots

brown_paper_bag: thank you :) its nice to know someone else shares the same tastes as me, my family think the stuff i eat is rancid ;)
try the organic/free from sections in tesco, morrisons and asda (youre from the UK? where about you from?) thats where i get all my stuff! they even sell dairy/gluten free oreos, YAY FOR ALLERGY RIDDEN TEENAGERS (like myself - not you - obviously ;))
if you want the flapkacks, try the section in holland and barrats where they keep all the snacks - theyre 500+cals each - im talking MEGA big flapjacks, really satisfying and only 69p :O! (good for my situation anyway...) and come in every flavour you could imagine.... banana, ginger and chocolate chip, yoghurt, cinnamon and apple, fruit, chocolate, fudge, brazil nuts in chocolate, cappucino.... seriously EVERYTHING!
i STRONGLY reccomend chocolate or yoghurt ;)
have you tried eat natural yoghurt and almond bars? mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...... boy i could eat a million and one of those.
Thanks yyonah, I'll keep a look out for things in those sections! There is some really good stuff in those sections - have you tried the Alpro Soya chocolate or vanilla dessert pot things they are so yummy! And they have so many alternative sounding cereals in those sections too. Yoghurt coated flapjacks sound amazing! I'm going to need to get down to a Holland & Baratt pronto, they might just be my new post exam food for the coming weeks. And yes! I love the Eat Natural yoghurt and almond bars they are amazingly good - but pretty expensive like £1.99 for 3 I think.
p.s. I've sent you a PM telling you where I live, as I live in such a small place I'm a bit paranoid someone will recognise me!

Brieo ~ A Special K Protein Bar is not a proper lunch and should be used as a snack.
