Good Morning, Dances!!! Laughing

Your "Morning," is a, "wittle bit different," when, "Night-time," is actually, "Morning-time," to most folks, lol!!!! Wink

Hope you find your scale soon! Laughing

BTW--

Did ya' know, berries are considered, "Super-Foods?" Tongue outLaughing

Hello, I'm feeling so energized just wanted to check in! I just got done with my 1 hour spin class. It was amazing! I made it through! Great stuff!

Exercise: 1 hour spin class

Breakfast: 8 eggwhites, Two 1/4 cup of fat free cheese, 2 slices of whole wheat french toast--good stuff

I have to head off to the grocery store later to restock on fruits and vegetables!

Have a happy Saturaday--Not much going on for me, I'm sure I will check in several times!

Hey friends -- *winks, and waves,* -- just done showering after my "big" Saturday workout,  4 mi jog (took just about 50 minutes, keeping my heartrate at 135-140 beats per minute), then 60 minutes on the bike/trainer (at 75% max heartrate, with 5 minutes each for warmup and cooldown) for 2 hours total. Not as much endurance as a 3.5 hour road ride, but OK given the temps outside, 17 degrees, YIKES. Had steel cut oats with fresh strawberries for brekkie, mmmm. Must grab a snack (cottage cheese and some carrots and hummus I think) since we're having a late lunch.

Boots, you can measure your output like this -- count your revolutions per minute of your legs in spinning. (How many times your knee comes up in 10 seconds.) Take that number (say 15) times 6. That equals 90 rpm. Check your rpm throughout class -- you want it as close to 90 rpm as you can get it most of the time. Your instructor prolly calls it a "cadence check." Control your resistance on the bike so you can get your body comfy with the 90 rpm spin. (You'll be able to add more resistance as your fitness increases.) That will take your heartrate to between 65 and 75 percent of max (the "fat burning" zone). That's approx equal to between 15 and 16 miles per hour on the road. So, if you have a 40 minute class, figure you're averaging 14-15 mph (since you slow down and speed up), so look up bicycling on the CC activity counter, and put in 14-15 mph at 40 minutes for your calories burned. If you worked harder, bump it up, if you were below 90 rpm most of the time, use 12-13 mph. Most 40 minute spin classes burn between 450 and 650 calories, thought they say "up to 800". That would be a REALLY hard class like race day, or an hour's worth of intervals in and out of the saddle. PM me if any of this isn't clear. (I am a certified spinning instructor, FWIW).

We are off to see some houses this afternoon (do I sound like a broken record?) and to check out the work of a builder we found. There is some land of interest to us, so building a place is in the mix now too. I think we'll find a place to live when Forks finds her scale (yeah, it's like that) LOL! I spent a goodly amount of time this week talking to architects to gather all that info.

Hope clients pay today, the larder is bare and momma's gotta pay the bills. (Chasing the $ is the most stressful part of my job.)

Stay warm all, I'll check in later.

PS --HananaBanana, eat some protein!! Have a sammich with turkey and lettuce on chewy wheat bread, it'll keep you from all those sweets! I'm a carb addict myself, ya eat one, ya eat 25 servings. Or tuna fish on rye, or a pita pocket with chicken salad. (Make em w/ your mom and pop them in the fridge so you can just grab them.) You'll be amazed how quick your carb addiction goes away.

Love, RG

Oh how I miss bananas!!!  I love strawberries and bananas together, but my 2yo is allergic to bananas and I can't even have them in the house because he will sneak them.  He LOVES them.  Makes him horribly sick if he even eats a couple of bites.

I'VE LOST 75 POUNDS IN FIVE MONTHS OF DIETING!

I feel like I need to sit down and write a Thank You Note to the woman I was 5 months ago (in August) ... that brave woman who finally took that first step of deciding to change her life and try -- yet again -- to lose weight. I am sure she was scared, and pessimistic, and filled with doubt about her ability to do this ... yet she was still willing to try. First one meal. Then one day. Then one week. Then two weeks. Then a month. She bought vegetables. She bought a scale. She bought a bike. She bought a treadmill. (And she's been having a lot of fun buying new clothes!)  Along the way she's learned a lot about perseverance. And nutrition. And cooking. And meal planning. And exercise. And dieting. And she's made a lot of wonderful friends along the way, too. She hasn't walked this journey alone ... her wonderful husband and dozens and dozens of friends have supported her, motivated her, encouraged her, dieted along with her, and kept  her going.
