I'm going to a concert this weekend for Halloween, so I will dress up, but I'm not sure what to wear yet. I have a couple of random costume parts at my house, but I love to be creative and make new things. What are you going as, Rebepi?
#1062 krismasself Oct 25 2007 19:53

LOL, I'm dressing up as "bridezilla" for a Halloween Party this weekend. Though I've never seen the show, I hear it's hilarious, and since I'm getting married in 3 months (Yikes, only 3 to go???), I thought it'd be fun. So, I'm going all in black, even to the viel, and will try to be b**chy! LOL!

Me and a friend of mine are dressing up as ZZ Top. If I get any good pictures, I'll post them and let you know.

I'm pretty excited. AND I'M EATING BEFORE I GO!! =)

Carrie - welcome to this group! One thing that you can do is to go to the top of the thread and click on the link that says "tag it". Then when you want to find it later, click on account, then on tagged items, then on forum, and you will see what threads you tagged. Then just click on the one you want.

Hello... my name is Bridgette in baltimore MD  after a terrible fight with my boyfriend i descided i needed to start focusin on me.  i wa sick in 2003 and gained over 175 1lbs last year i started going to the gym everyday and after two weeks i started seeing a difference but my partner stopped goin and so did i so... i need to motivate myself and maybe get an online partner or something...

i woke up yesturday morning... went to walmart to get my cd player etc got in front of the gym... and didnt go in... so sad... so i am so mad with myslef... there was so many fit people in there that i didnt want to go in cuz i know i will get tired and leave... ok is it just me or does others feel the same way.... i am a go getter when it comes to any other part of my life but i turn into a sad pittiful person when its time for me to make a change about my weight...  i left the gym went to the grocery store got all healthy food and threw away all the bad foods and and replaced with healthy...

tomorrow morning i am going to push my self to the gym at 6am and slowly work out... all imma be thinkin all day today is that i can do it an i will make it....

my job is supportive because tues and thurs from 10 - 11 is swim aerobics and they do it dont worry about the work etc...

Welcome Carrie, I hope what Pam said was helpful to you. If you need anything else we will try to help you.

Welcome Bridgette, Happy to have you join us here. Just hang in there and dont worry about the other people at the gym they are not worth your time. Just think about you and how your gonna feel when you reach your goal because all that really matters is that you are happy! right!?

Well I had a GREAT weekend! and even worked out on Sat too! and have lost more then half the weight I put on during my slump week. Oh it feels great to be losing again!!! Thanks for all the support ladies you are an awesome bunch of people!

Good morning all!!! Welcome Carrie and Bridgette!!Wink

Our week away ( at my parents) was very good, I was able to work out once.  And with all of the eating and food that I didn't know exactly what was in it - I neither gained or lost.  So considering that this could have been a disaster, I think I did well! Portions are so so important!!  I even had a slice of pecan pie homeade by an Amish woman, so delicious.

I am kind of low because I don't think that I will make my 7 lb. goal for the month, and I am wondering how realistic it is.  Do you all care to weigh in on this?

Have a great day you all!! I will check back later!!

Get up and move!!!!

#1070 lorabear Oct 29 2007 15:48

kateduttongillett- I don't think 7 lbs is unrealistic if you stick to the plan. That is about 2 lbs a week and doable. I usually aim for 5lbs a month and hope for the best.

By the way thanks for telling us everyday to “Get up and Move!”

Lora

Kate,

I have a 7 lb/month goal too! So far, I've done it easily, but it does take dedication!

But I have also reminded myself that I am not in charge of the results, just the work!

"Get up and Move"....I second that!

Sue

#1072 kateduttongillett Oct 29 2007 18:05

Thanks Lora and Sue!!

I did the elliptical this morning, and BOY! was I moving sluggishly, it was so hard!!  I did feel better once I did 20 minutes. The rush is a "good thing"!

#1073 sarahrip Oct 30 2007 18:12

Kate,

Good for you! for working out when you didn't feel up to it, you are truly my inspiration! I have kept the workouts going and feel good about it and eating well. I have only lost 2 pounds this month and that was the first week of Oct!. I do plan on doing better for the month of November before the holidays really kick in!

#1074 krismasself Oct 31 2007 13:12
I've noticed that exercising is not only good for my body, but for my brain! I can overcome all kinds of negative thoughts by plugging into the endorphins from exercise!
#1075 trapp32 Oct 31 2007 14:19
Happy Halloween Everybody! I hope everyone is having a good one.

I have not been doing too good. I can't seem to keep motivated I am trying not to beat myself up over it. I don't even want to weigh myself that is how bad it is. I just need to move on that is what I keep telling myself. It is weird because I feel good when I eat right and exercise but it is like there is someone in my head saying eat that bad thing.
#1076 krismasself Oct 31 2007 16:20

I have one of those "someones" in my head too, trapp! I recognize that voice as the voice of my compulsion to overeat....calling me back whenever I get past it! Or when I'm stressed, or tired, or lonely, or....and the list goes on.

Just remind yourself, that though you may fail at times, You are Not a Failure! You can start again, right now!

That's what I'm about to do! Having had a major Ooops at lunch, I came on line to see my friends and find my support system!

So let's continue to encourage each other, OK? we can do it!

#1077 trapp32 Oct 31 2007 16:32
I believe that we can do it. I was thinking about going for a walk during lunch but I don't want to look like a fool walking out there by myself. Everyone here is really skinny and don't exercise at all. So I know they wont go with me. There is stairs also that I could go up and down but then I am afraid of getting sweaty. I think I will go for a walk.

Just wanted to come by and say hello. I haven't been around much lately, but really, neither has anyone else. =)

I went to the surgeon on tuesday and I should be getting my gallbladded taken out around 12/18, which is really good news. It's after my semester is over and before christmas, so I get a pretty long christmas vacation. =) haha. Not that it'll be a very productive one. Oh well.

Anyway, I've been doing ok, but I really have to start exercising regularly. I've got really gross saggy fat/skin on my arms when I put them straight out (horizontally) from my body. It really is horrible.

I've been having problems understanding where all this weight I've lost has gone. I still feel just as fat as when I started. I still have all the same icky fat rolls everywhere and honestly I don't think they look much smaller. It's just very depressing.

I'll keep working at it and hope for the best, but I know some day I'm going to want to opt into plastic surgery. Apparently my skin's elasticity has gone the way of the dinosaurs. =) How anyone affords surgery is beyond me. I guess I'll probably have to live as the "melting woman" for a long time to come. *sigh*
#1079 krismasself Nov 01 2007 11:33

Rebecca,

Glad to hear your surgery has been scheduled. You'll feel so much better after you recover fromthe actual surgery!

Maybe you'll even feel well enough to begin an exercise program! It will help you feel more positive about your body, and will even help firm up some of the saggy stuff. Unfortunately, once we've gained so much weight, a lot of it simply doesn't shrink all the way back.

Maybe you should apply to one of those TV programs for your plastic surgery...lol!

I could look at things very negatively this morning, because I have gained 11 pounds this month, and I was already up 7 pounds, so now I am up 18 pounds from my lowest weight, and that can be very depressing. But you know what? I am not going to be negative. I choose to be positive. This is the first day of November - a brand new month - a month for change. This is the day that the Lord has made and I will rejoice and be glad in it! He has given me the information that I need in order to lose weight. He has said that He would help me. I will make good food choices today. I will exercise today! And most of all, I will thank God today for the ability to do what I can do.

Yesterday I actually rode my stationary bike for 15 minutes non-stop. I did that twice yesterday. That is the first time I have been able to do that in years. This morning I have ridden it 15 minutes, and I am going to try to do another 15 minutes in just a little bit.

I just want to encourage each one of you to see today as a fresh start, and know that you CAN do this. With God's help, and I know He will help you if you ask Him too. I know sometimes it is hard, and it gets depressing, but I would encourage you to put away the negative thoughts and begin to confess positive thoughts.
